    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    PENGUJIAN DAN VERIFIKASI DESAIN PENERIMA FM DIGITAL PADA FPGA

    ABSTRAKSI: FPGA muncul sebagai perangkat memori yang baru, pengembangan dalam perangkat ini masih jarang untuk digunakan sebagai riset perangkat telekomunikasi digital. FPGA dapat membangun memori prosesor dan memori pengendali perangkat eksternal, sehingga FPGA dapat mendukung suatu pengujian desain penerima FM digital. Didalam perangkat FPGA terdapat satu juta gerbang logika, dimana gerbang - gerbang logika tersebut dapat didesain dengan menggunakan bahasa VHDL. Prototype FPGA dapat memberikan suatu modal dasar pengembangan perancangan elektronika telekomunikasi yang berbasis digital.Untuk mengembangkannya perlu dilakukan suatu pengujian perangkat telekomunikasi yang berbasis digital. Metode pengujian perangkat ini memodifikasi dari IC FM penerima digital yang sudah ada. Prinsip kerja IC FM penerima diimplementasikan kedalam bahasa VHDL yang source-nya sudah ada, tetapi bahan source code tersebut masih terdapat banyak kesalahan algoritma pemograman. Maka dari itu dalam proyek akhir ini dilakukan verifikasi source coding yang sudah ada dan penambahan rancangan perangkat analog agar sinyal frekuensi modulasi dapat disampling dan diterima pada proses pengolahan penerima FM radio pada FPGA berbasis digital.Dalam pengujian perangkat FPGA ini, semua blok sistem komunikasi pada penerima FM digital dapat diimplementasikan. Tetapi perangkat FPGA ini membutuhkan ADC 8 bit dengan frekuensi sampling minimal 22 MHz. Proyek akhir ini mendesain program PLL digital dan audio codec dengan frekuensi sampling 48KHz. Selanjutnya pengujian ini akan dikembangkan untuk dijadikan sebagai Kit praktikum sistem komunikasi berbasis digital.Kata Kunci : Penerima FM Digital, PLL digital, VHDL, FPGA.ABSTRACT: FPGA is a new generation of memory device, FPGA device is not famous for to be used as research tools for digital telecommunications. FPGA can build the processor memory and external memory device controller, so that the FPGA can support a digital FM receiver design testing. Inside the device there are one million logic gates, in which that logic gates can be designed by using VHDL language. FPGA prototype can provide a basis for the development of capital-based design of digital telecommunication electronics.To develop FPGA requires an implementation of digital telecommunications equipment based test. This device testing method modifies an existing digital FM receiver ICs. The principle of the circuit is implemented into the VHDL language that has already had source code, but the source code still contains many algorithms programming error. Thus, in this final project, there is a verification of existing source coding and the addition of an analog device design, so the signal modulation frequencies can be sampled and received at FM receiver processing on FPGA-based digital radio.In these FPGA devices testing, all blocks of communication systems in digital FM receiver can be implemented at FPGA. But FPGA need a device requires 8-bit ADC with a sampling frequency of at least 22 Mhz. The final project designs a program of digital PLL and audio codec with 48 KHz sampling frequency. Further testing will be developed to be the kit of digital- based communication systems practicum.Keyword: Digital FM receiver, PLL digital, VHDL, FPGA

    ABSTRAKSI: Globalitas TV digital sudah semakin meni n gkat, di Indonesia masih menggunakan modulasi a nalog sebagai sistem penyiaran televisi . Selain frekuensi UHF sangat terbatas, permasalahannya dalam satu kanal televisi analog hanya dapat di duduki oleh satu stasiun TV saja. Ketika LPK(Lembaga Penyiaran Komunitas) masih menggunakan sistem modulasi analog, Tel - U TV (Komunitas Televisi Telkom University) akan sulit mendapatkan ISR (Izin Spektrum Radio Frekuensi ). Karena frekuensi UHF kedepannya akan digunakan untuk teknologi LTE , oleh karena itu pemerintah mengeluarkan regulasi baru untuk berpindah ke TV digital. TV digital adalah solusi untuk membuat efisiensi penggunaan pita frekuensi UHF yang mampu menduduki 9 kanal televisi dalam bandwidth 8 Mhz. Pada tugas akhir ini akan membahas perancangan dan implementasi pembuatan HPA ( High Power Amplifier) standar DVB - T2 . HPA adalah salah satu blok diagram transmisi pada bagian RF (Radio Frekuensi) yang berfungsi sebagai penguat sinyal . Daerah cangkupan yang di bangun standar LPK yaitu sekitar radius 2 km untuk model analog dan radius 20 km untuk model digital. Maka dengan power amplifier 5 - 50 watt dapat menjangkau koverage area LPK yang tercantum da lam Permen Kominfo No.28 . Hasil dari perancangan dan Implementasi HPA standar DVB - T2 , dapat bekerja di frekuensi 470 - 695Mhz. Tegangan input yang dapat digunakan pada HPA ini sekitar (Vd : 40 - 70 Volt ) tergantung dari kebutuhan power daya pancar . Impedansi Perangkat dari hasil pengukuran sekitar 45 - 50 Ohm, tergantung frekuensi kerja. SWR rata - rata dengan frekunsi 470 - 695Mhz yang diukur menghasilkan nilai return loss 17 dB atau setara dengan SWR 1.329 . Gain rata - rata pada power amplifier ini tergantung tunnin g tegangan input HPA (Vd), sehingga gain yang dihasilkan dari HPA ini bisa menghasilkan 10 - 18 dB.KATA KUNCI: Tel - U TV , High Power amplifier , DVB - T2ABSTRACT: Globality digital TV is increasing , in Indonesia still using analog modulation as a television broadcasting system . In addition a UHF frequency is very limited , the problem in the analog television channels can only be occupied by only one TV station . When LPK ( Community Broadcasting Station ) the systems still use analog modulation , Tel - U TV ( Television Community at Telkom University ) will be difficult to get the ISR ( Radio Frequency Spectrum Licenses ). Because UHF frequency will be used for LTE technology future , therefore the government build a new regulation to switch to digital TV . Digital TV is the solution to make efficient use of the UHF frequency band that is able to occupy 9 television channels in the bandwidth of 8 MHz . In this thesis will discuss the design and implementation of the manufacture HPA ( High Power Amplifier ) DVB - T2 standard . HPA is a block diagram of transmission on the RF ( Radio Frequency ) which serves as a signal amplifier . Regional cangkupan standard LPK is built around a radius of 2 km for analogue models and a radius of 20 km to a digital model . So with 5 - 50 watt power amplifier can reach koverage LPK area listed in Permen Kominfo 28 . The results of the design and implementation of the DVB - T2 standard HPA , can work at the frequency of 470 - 695Mhz. Input voltage that can be used on the HPA about ( Vd: 40 - 7 0 Volts ) depending on the power needs to be transmitted energy . Impedance of the device is around 45 - 50 Ohm measurement results , depending on the operating frequency . SWR / S11 with an average frequency of 470 - 695Mhz generate the measured 17 dB return loss , equivalent to 1.329 SWR . Average gain is dependent on the power amplifier input voltage tunning HPA ( Vd), so that the gain resulting from the HPA can be up to 10 - 18 dB .KEYWORD: T - U TV , High Power amplifiers , DVB - T

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
