Analysis of The English Open Compound Words
Compound words are one of the elements found in the field of morphology. Where the morphology is the study of morphemes, and morphemes are elements of language that have meaning and contribute to support meaning. The morphology field will involve two elements, namely the free element and the bound element. The problem in this study is to analyze the compound word found in the Jakarta post. The word compound which is discussed is the compound word that is open (separate word writing).This research is a type of research belonging to the field of linguistics. This study also uses Qualitative Descriptive research methods. This research method refers to the form of the word. In addition, this research also uses library research or library research. Putaka's research only discusses the data that has been provided by processing and donating data obtained from data sources by using the basic theory that supports the research. In this study the writer took data sources from one edition of the Jakarta Post.
All data needed comes from the data source.The initial step used by the writer is to extract raw data taken from the source. After all the raw data is collected, the author will classify the data in several groups. Since the writer only discusses three topic issues, the information is in accordance with the problem. The first problem is the form of the compound word separated which is found in the Jakarta Post Newspaper. Second is what is the meaning of the compound words before and after combined. And the last is the rule that is owned by the compound. Based on this research, the writer find the uniqueness that results from a separate word combination. Among them is if one word is combined with another word it will have a different meaning. Based on this research the author understands in depth about the separate word combination
An Analysis of The English Gerund as Subject, Direct Object, Subject Complemet, and Object of Preposition
The problem in this journal is gerund, verbal ending -ing and serves as a noun. Gerund differs from grammar construction in English because it is able to convert a verb into a noun by adding -ing at the end of the verb. At the same time, there is also a continuous tense form that adds -ing at the end of the verb. For students who start learning English will be confused with the form -ing that can be a noun and also a verb in the same sentence.
The method used is the method of distribution, the method of data analysis into object analysis is part of the language itself. Objects in the distribution method are always part or element of the language being observed. In analyzing the data, the authors use qualitative methods. Qualitative research is a type of social science research that collects and works with non-numerical data and which seeks to interpret the meaning of the data being analyzed. In this study, researchers used descriptive design with the aim to analyze gerund as subject, direct object, complement of subject, and object of preposition at Tempo magazine in 2015.
The author finds gerund formulation as follows: Gerund as Subject (Main + Main Verb + Complement), gerund as Direct Object (Subject + Main Verb + Gerund), gerund as Subject Complement (Subject + to be + Gerund), and gerund as Object of Preposition (Subject + Primary Keyword + Preposition + Gerund). The study found that Tempo magazine used gerund in magazines with higher gerund percentages as the preposition object. There are 8 gerunds as the subject, 5 gerund as a direct object, 6 gerund as complementary subject, and 23 gerund as the preposition object

Globally the prevalence of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) among adult remain increase, including in Indonesia. DM with complicated condition might be cause disability that’s call diabetic foot. Diabetic foot is a leg disorder caused by uncontrolled diabetes mellitus resulting in blood vessel disorders, nervous disorders and infection. There are three main problems with diabetic foot, namely ischemia, neuropathy, and infection. These three problems, if triggered by trauma, will cause diabetic foot ulcers. Diabetic foot process initiated by their state of chronic hyperglycemia that causes inflammation in the arterial endothelium, cause endothelial dysfunction. Many studies that suggest a relationship of vitamin D with this inflammatory process. Hipovitaminosis state D will give effect to the increasing activity of the RAAS include hypertension, increased insulin resistance and dysfunction of pancreatic cells which can lead to hyperglycemia, decreased HDL and increased triglycerides. Hypovitaminosis vitamin D can directly increase the proinflammatory cytokines that produce TNF-α. This inflammatory process would lead to decreased levels of Nitric Oxide (NO) and increased ROS. Vitamin D might be have a role in cotrolling inflammation in endothelial cells among people with diabetic foot.Keywords: endothelial dysfunction, diabetic foot, vitamin
An Analysis of Merry Riana’s Speech Acts in Alberthiene Endah’s Million Dollar Dream
This research is entitled analysis of Merry Riana\u27s speech acts in the novel A Million Dollar Dream by Alberthiene Endah. This research is limited to several main ideas related to observations of the following two questions: what are the types of Riana\u27s speech acts in the Million Dollar Dream Novel and the types of Riana\u27s reference expressions in the Million Dollar Dream Novel. To explain this, the theory used comes from Austin\u27s theory and Kroeger\u27s theory which is used to dissect and get answers to the objectives of this research. For the data analysis method, the author uses a qualitative method by emphasizing the meaning and meaning of Merry Riana\u27s speech acts. This research uses data collection techniques in the form of reading and taking notes. The conclusion in this research is the meaning contained in Merry Riana\u27s speech acts. There are locutionary speech acts, namely speech acts to state something, illocutionary speech acts, namely speech acts that contain hidden meanings or other meanings that the speaker wants to convey to the interlocutor, perlocutionary speech acts are acts of increasing influence or impact on the interlocutor

The title of this research is “The Struggle of Assassin to Overcome Identity Crisis Seen in Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Ultimatum.” The problem of this research examines the psychological and moral journey of Jason Bourne, the protagonist of The Bourne Ultimatum by Robert Ludlum, as he grapples with an identity crisis triggered by amnesia and his past as a trained killer. The author uses Erik Erikson’s psychosocial development theory to analyze Bourne’s struggle in finding himself and his quest for redemption. The researcher explores how Bourne’s amnesia, a result of the CIA mind control program, forces him to confront a past he does not remember, filled with violence and morally ambiguous actions.This narrative reveals the psychological burden of being an armed individual, stripped of personal identity, and forced to operate solely as a tool for the state. Through his interactions with allies and foes, Bourne wrestles with the consequences of his actions and the ethical implications of his existence. This research analyzes how he confronts his past, seeks to understand his true identity, and ultimately attempts to free himself from CIA control, demonstrating human desire for self-determination and potential for redemption even amidst profound trauma.The research concludes by highlighting the profound impact of identity crisis on an individual’s mental and moral development, showing how even a trained killer can overcome fractured self-perceptions and find meaning in a life marked by violence and manipulation
An analysis of Idiom Using In “The Rising of The Shield Hero”
This study aims to find out the use, contextual meaning, and types of idioms in a film titled "The Rising of the Shield Hero". An idiom is an expression that contains words, phrases or clauses that often use figurative language that is often used in communication. The meaning of an idiom is very different from the literal meaning, the idiom itself does not describe one of the words that form it. The researcher used the theory of idiom types based on Boatner and Gates and contextual meaning based on Parera. The purpose of this research; identify what types of idioms in the film, and analyze the contextual meaning in the film. This research is qualitative method, the data has been taken from the film script and analyzed. The result is indicate that idioms can be found in each forms with idiom identified in the film: there are 72 idioms in 4 forms, 52 lexemic idioms, 16 phraseological idioms, 1 frozen idiom, 3 proverbs. The most idiom are lexemic and it is hard to find frozen idioms. Finally, all of these idioms have related meanings based on the contextual meaning in the film
Depression and Suicide Message as Seen in Chester Bennington of Linkin Park’s Selected Lyrics From 2000 (Hybrid Theory) Until 2017 (one more light)
Linkin Park consists of six people, namely Chester Bennington as the vocalist, Mike Kenji Shinoda as a rapper (founder of Linkin Park), Brad Philip Delson as a guitarist, David Micheal "Phoenix" Farrel as a bass, Joseph Hanh as a disc jockey (DJ) and Rob Gregory Bourdon as a drummer. The writer only focus on Chester Bennington’s life, how his struggle in roller coaster life and accept himself cannot separate with his suffered on his past. Chester Bennington always interpreted him become part of his songs in Linkin Park’s lyrics.
This thesis is entitled "Depression and suicide message as seen in Chester Bennington of Linkin Park’s Selected Lyrics from 2000 (Hybrid Theory) Until 2017 (One More Light)" seen from the perspective of psychological analysis, pragmatics analysis, lyrics of songs analysis. This research is limited on basic ideas that relate to the observation into three questions as follow: (1) what makes Chester Bennington left his message in lyrics of Linkin Park’s songs, 2) what the causes Chester Bennington depression and decides to commit to suicide, and (3) What song proves Chester Bennington was depressed and decided to commit suicide. The objectives of this research were (1) To explain the reason Chester Bennington of Linkin Park had written down his stories into lyrics of Linkin Park’s songs (2) To explain the causes that Chester Bennington depression and decides to commit suicide, and (3) to explain that the songs of Chester Bennington was depressed and decided to commit suicide.
The theory used is from a some sourceres by Sigmund Freud about Chester Bennington’s mental health. For searching his message is using by George Yule’s theory. For the method of data analysis, the author uses qualitative research. For searching seven lyrics of songs analysis using Dallin’s theory. This research is qualitative research using the content analysis method. The findings of this research is a song lyric, lyrics give the audience deep understanding about the message contained in the song
Figurative Languages in William Shakespeare’s Poem: a Fairy Song, a Madrigal, Bridal Song, Dirge, and Sonnet 116
The problem in this thesis is figurative language in Shakespeare\u27s poetry. The reason for choosing the figurative language in William Shakespeare\u27s poetry is because all of his works contain many literary qualities, which are figurative and each of these poems has a beautiful story that is translated into a beautiful figurative form.The purpose of this study is to analyze types of figurative language, figurative language formulas, and figurative language functions in Shakespeare\u27s poetry. In this writing, library research is taken as a data collection method. As for the data analysis method, the researcher describes literary work as a not-based structure that forms it as an internal factor of literature. Data collection techniques use documentation techniques to find data relevant to the research. In data analysis techniques, the author uses a formalist approach, all elements needed to understand the work contained in the work itself. The main purpose for formalist criticism is to determine how elements in Shakespeare\u27s poetry work together with text content to form meaning to the reader.The findings in this thesis are: 1) figurative language in Shakespeare\u27s poetry can be divided into simile, metaphor, hyperbole, personification, and repetition. Simile can be found in Madrigal poetry; Metaphorical figurative languages can be found in four Shakespearean poems, A Fairy Song, Song Bridal, Dirge, and Sonnet 116; personification can be found in two poems Shakespeare, A Madrigal and Dirge; hyperbole can be seen A Fairy Song, Dirge, and Sonnet 116; and Repetition can be seen in three poems of Shakespeare, A Fairy Song, A Madrigal, and Dirge
An Analysis of The Speech Acts Through The Socioculture
This study entitled Analysis of the Use of Word Speech Action through Socio-Cultural approach : This Speech Action Study aims to analyze speech actions that contain socio-cultural values commonly used in the \u27Dictionary of Indonesian Expressions\u27. The theory used in this study is the theory of Speech Acts by Leech (2017: 39) which focuses on the theory of speech actions. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. The data analysis method uses Primary data and Secondary data by collecting primary data that can be found in the object of study which in this case is from the book \u27Dictionary of Indonesian Expressions\u27. The data collection technique uses sorting techniques and categorizes data from tranksrip or books that are used as research objects into Primary and Secondary data categories and analyzes phrase sentences that contain socio-cultural elements in them. The results of the analysis show the magnitude of the socio-cultural influence on speech action which consists of many factors. Trust and culture are the biggest major factors in being the influence of speech formation and people\u27s attitudes of taking action and speaking
Alpha Generation Slang by Content Creators on Tiktok
This research explores the use of slang by Alpha Generation on TikTok, focusing on content from creators @DamonSharpe, @KarenWazen, and @LearnWithPari, analyzed between December 1st-18th, 2024. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research identifies and classifies 63 slang terms based on Allan and Burridge’s (2006) framework, categorizing them into five types: Fresh and Creative (52 terms, e.g., Sigma, Rizz), Clipping (4 terms, e.g., Sus, Fit), Flippant (4 terms, e.g., Fanum Tax), Acronym (2 terms, e.g., GOAT, FR), and Imitative (1 term, e.g., Finna). The study also examines their meanings and social functions, including addressing, initiating relaxed conversation, expressing impressions, and conveying emotions like anger or intimacy. Data were collected through observation, screenshots, and analysis of videos, with meanings derived from online sources and creator content. Findings highlight TikTok’s role as a dynamic platform for linguistic innovation, reflecting Alpha generation cultural and social identities. The predominance of Fresh and Creative slang underscores their creativity, while the varied functions illustrate slang’s role in fostering community and identity. This research offers insights into digital language evolution and suggests future studies explore slang across platforms and incorporate quantitative methods for broader sociolinguistic understanding
