Attraverso la ricostruzione della normativa afferente al problema dell'infanzia abbandonata si delineano alcune tappe che hanno segnato in Sicilia il passaggio della beneficenza all'assistenza, dal soccorso privato, a sfondo etico-religioso, all'intervento pubblico rispondente anche ad esigenze di controllo sociale.
La regolamentazione settecentesca della cura agli «esposti» segna una tappa nel processo di laicizzazione dell'assistenza operato dai Borbo- ni. Volontà di consolidamento dell'autorità centrale tesa alla costituzione dello stato moderno caratterizza fortemente il decennio francese napoletano. Il periodo successivo alla restaurazione, infine, conosce tentativi di mediazione che segnano le tappe di un difficile equilibrio nello sforzo di recuperare il consenso, di coinvolgere forze che altrimenti genererebbero forti spinte centrifughe.
L'analisi delle istituzioni assistenziali che sorgono a Catania tra '700 e '800 con la finalità di procurare soccorso all'infanzia abbandonata può essere utilizzata come chiave di lettura per penetrare nel meccanismo della risposta istituzionale alla volontà centrale espressa dalla normativa.Raffaele Silvana. Betweenness centrality: extremal values and structural properties
No full textIn this paper we investigate the structural properties of betweenness centrality and determine some cases in which betweenness reaches its extremal values. Special attention is paid to Star(G), the set of vertices adjacent to all other vertices in a graph and we prove several results about the betweenness of the elements of this set. We introduce the new concept of total betweenness and relate it to group betweenness. We prove a necessary and sufficient condition for the two measures to coincide. Next we consider cutsets and cutvertices and we find a lower bound for their betweenness; in particular for a cutvertex this lower bound is the cutting number. Finally we apply the previous results to trees, proving an alternative formula for betweenness based oil cutvertex properties
Misfiring and still succeeding: Seeking success in megaprojects amidst changing regulatory environments
Full text linkThis paper analyses the complexities involved in planning and managing infrastructural megaprojects under
changing regulatory environments. Through the case of the megaprojects by Autostrade, a motorway construction
company, the paper illustrates that the notion of success is problematic and not easily defined when
changes in regulations by regulatory bodies become sources of overflows, inducing changes in plans that had
been previously agreed upon.
Since regulations are dynamic, there may be a limit to which the initial planning parameters are legitimate
benchmarks for the actualized megaproject’s cost, time, and quality. It follows that a megaproject’s success can
result in orchestrating actions and reactions that involve both the capability of envisioning boundaries and
demolishing them. This has severe implications for the notion of success itself, which does not easily fall into the
traditional perspective of goal fulfillment but rather is linked to the inability to perceive the project’s
incompleteness

No full textWith the definitive implementation of Legislative Decree no. 12/2019 and subsequent amendments, a paradigm shift has occurred in the definition of business continuity in bankruptcy proceedings. It is no longer seen merely as a value-means to satisfy the main creditors, but also as a value-end benefiting other stakeholders directly or indirectly involved in the restructuring activity. The main actors responsible for drafting and evaluating an industrial recovery plan, such as the attestor, the court, but also the entrepreneur and the advisor themselves, are well aware of this shift. In this contribution, we provide a brief overview of the concept of continuity from the perspectives of economic-business and legal-budgetary science. Subsequently, we focus on the axiom of business continuity in the legal-procedural field and offer some valuable insights for evaluating recovery processes with regards to their economic, financial, and social sustainability
