History of Islamic economic thought ::contributions of Muslim scholars to economic thought and analysis /
This unique book highlights the contributions made by Muslim scholars to economic thought throughout history, a topic that has received relatively little attention in mainstream economics. Abdul Azim Islahi discusses various ways in which Muslim ideas reached the European West, influencing scholars and helping to form the foundations of modern economic ideas and theories. Early chapters outline the foundations of Islamic economic thought and describe three distinct phases of its development over time. The author then identifies key theories and tenets of modern economics - including value; market and pricing; production and distribution; money and interest; and the economic role of the state - and explores the influence of Muslim scholarly thought on each. The concluding chapter highlights the importance of further exploration of the topic and offers insightful recommendations for future research. This fascinating book will be of great interest to students and scholars of both the history of economic thought and Islamic economics

The increases of population, paralel with the increasing of road users lead to parking concerns, especialy in Muar Johor. Insuffiecient car park and congested traffic occured in that area, and the study keen to conduct a research to identify the factors that contribute to the problem. The scope of parking problem is narrowed to Jalan Salleh as the main road in Muar town. The author will investigate the parking management system at Muar town from planning, organising and controlling point of view. The demand for property in Muar is increasing, but with problems of lack of parking space and congested area can change property buyers decision. Model prediction of Al Azim changing water level and power relative due to climatic changes
To evaluate expectation models related to environmental change and anthropogenic intercessions, impact change in water level and force in Iraq's Al-Adhaim bowl (AARB), multi-relapse, hydrologic affectability, and hydrologic model reproductions were applied. The Al Azim River is the essential wellspring of new water for Kirkuk City, probably Iraq's biggest city. Ongoing investigations have uncovered that the bowl water has been showing expanding inconstancy, conceivably adding to more serious dry seasons and floods because of environmental change. To acquire a superior comprehension of the impacts of environmental change on water assets in the review region in the close and far off future, the Pettitt, precipitation-overflow twofold aggregate bend (PR-DCC), and Mann–Kendall techniques were utilized. The results show that the three techniques delivered steady mean yearly streamflow changes. Moreover, environment inconstancy was the essential driver of streamflow decrease, with commitments going from 66 to 97 percent somewhere in the range of 2003 and 2013, while anthropogenic intercessions brought about decreases going from 4 to 34 percent. To further chip away at this multi-model mix theory, Hydrologiska Byran's Vatten balansavdelning (HBV), Ge'nie Rural a Daily 4 Limits (GR4J), and Medbasin models have been effectively implemented (SAM). Authentic interpretation of classical Islamic texts: An analysis of the introduction of Ibn Kathir's "Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Azim".
This study examines Ismail ibn Umar ibn Kathir's (ca. 1300-1374) introduction to his exegesis of the Qur'an, Tafsir al-Qur'an al-Azim. The analysis is predicated upon the importance of underst and ing a foreign, classical and culturally distant text approximate to the underst and ing of the original audience; they were insiders. To authentically interpret a text as they did, the researcher must be apprised of the knowledge that the author assumed of his audience and of the historical context of the text and its author. This includes recognizing the formal and rhetorical structures of the literature and knowing the background knowledge of the audience, their linguistic approach to the language, and the intertextual references of the text. Accordingly, this study focuses on certain textual relations. Major facets were the theme structure and foreground parts of the text; words and names whose meanings may be arcane to those outside of the culture of the text; and the entities that influenced the text, its transmission, and reception. The study answers the following: what were the intellectual forces that shaped Ibn Kathir's introduction? how are they reflected therein? and what facets of the text are essential to an insider's underst and ing of it, that is, for an authentic interpretation? The discussion shows that Ibn Kathir's text reflects the influence and training of his mentors and of Ahmad ibn Adb al-Halim ibn Taymiyah (d. 728/1328) in particular; his text composes the second part of Ibn Kathir's introduction. These individuals were elite Damascene scholars and adherents of Ibn Taymiyah's religious ideology. The study demonstrates that key to underst and ing Ibn Kathir's introduction and other classical Islamic texts is familiarity with the ideology and education of the writer, for the classical author was writing for those whose education and culture were similar to his. Authentic interpretation requires the researcher to have a background in linguistics particularly in text or discourse analysis and in Arabic grammar, Islamic theology, the science of hadith, and the nascent era of Islam.PhDReligionLinguisticsMiddle Eastern literatureMiddle Eastern historyUniversity of Michiganhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/162177/1/8920521.pd
