Prezentujemy dokument w oryginalnej formie przekazanej Zarządowi GPW 5 grudnia 2018 r.In 2018 the Warsaw Stock Exchange commissioned the Allerhand Institute, to draw up assumptions for a legislation introducing into the Polish judicial system a separate specialized Capital Market Court competent in corporate law disputes of listed companies as well as disputes between investors and issuers of financial instruments. Moreover the jurisdiction of new court would extend to embrace judicial review of decisions issued by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF). The document was prepared by Professor Arkadiusz Radwan, in cooperation with Michał Bobrzyński (Attorney-at-Law, LL.M. Harvard), legal advisor Kamil Nowak (Attorney-at-Law) and Dr. Krzysztof Grabowski – all research associates affiliated with the Allerhand Institute. Florian Zebrzydowski i jego dobra w Radoczy w księstwie zatorskim
No full textThe article recounts the development of the property of Florian Zebrzydowski, Radwan coat of arms (d. 1566), one of Sigismund Augustus’s most trusted courtiers, military commanders, and officials. Using the inductive method, the study highlights the facts previously omitted in historiography such as Zebrzydowski’s coming into possession of the property in the village of Radocza near Wadowice in the Duchy of Zator. As a co-owner of the village, Zebrzydowski litigated against Jakub Frydrychowski in 1549–1550. Later, in a document from 1551, the king bestowed on Zebrzydowski the privilege to build a dam/moat on the Skawa River to supply water to the property in Radocza, which was necessary to make fishponds (the text with translation is provided in the Appendix). Eight years later, Florian Zebrzydowski concluded a transaction with Felicja Frydrychowska and her husband Stanisław Milanowski with regard to the Radocza property. Although it was impossible to determine when the dignitary disposed of his property in the village, the sources dating to the last few years of his life and decades after his death, containing names of the owners of Radocza no longer mention the Zebrzydowski family. Apart from the findings concerning Radocza, the article casts light on other property transactions in which Zebrzydowski participated. The study was aimed at indicating the necessity of broader research on the growth of Florian Zebrzydowski’s property in the the context of his family’s financial affairs, thus outlining new research perspectives.Artykuł ukazuje problematykę rozwoju majątku Floriana Zebrzydowskiego h. Radwan (zm. 1566), jednego z najbardziej zaufanych dworzan, wojskowych i urzędników Zygmunta Augusta. Stosując metodę indukcyjną, zwrócono uwagę na niemal nieznane dotychczas w historiografii wejście przez Zebrzydowskiego w posiadanie majątku we wsi Radocza k. Wadowic w księstwie zatorskim. Jako współwłaściciel tej wsi Zebrzydowski procesował się w latach 1549–1550 z Jakubem Frydrychowskim. Z kolei dokumentem z 1551 roku król nadał Zebrzydowskiemu przywilej budowania tamy/ fosy na rz. Skawie w celu doprowadzania wody do majątku w Radoczy, co było niezbędne m.in. do zbudowania stawów rybnych (edycja wraz z tłumaczeniem w Aneksie). Osiem lat później Florian Zebrzydowski przeprowadził transakcję majątkową dotyczącą Radoczy z Felicją Frydrychowską i jej mężem Stanisławem Milanowskim. Nie udało się jednak ustalić, kiedy dostojnik pozbył się majątku w tej wsi, jednak źródła z okresu ostatnich lat jego życia i kolejnych dziesięcioleci wymieniające właścicieli Radoczy nie wspominają już o Zebrzydowskich. Przy okazji ustaleń dotyczących Radoczy ukazano także przykładowe inne transakcje majątkowe, w których brał udział Zebrzydowski. Studium miało za zadanie zasygnalizować konieczność podjęcia szerszych badań nad rozwojem majątku Floriana Zebrzydowskiego w powiązaniu ze sprawami majątkowymi jego rodziny, szkicując tym samym nowe perspektywy badawcze

No full textRecenzuojama knyga skirta ne plačiajai skaitytojų auditorijai, bet neabejotinai verta Lietuvos istorikų, tyrinėjančių Lietuvos Bažnyčios istorijos bei XIX–XX a. religinio gyvenimo peripetijas, dėmesio. Rusijos valstybiniame istorijos archyve (RVIA) Sankt Peterburge didelį darbą atlikusio lenkų profesoriaus Mariano Radwano veiklą vainikuoja naujas žinynas, kuriame pristatomi RVIA esantys vadinamieji bažnytiniai fondai. Žinyne apsiribojama katalikų ir unitų Bažnyčių istoriją atskleidžiančiais archyviniais šaltiniais. Įvadiniame straipsnyje autorius trumpai aptaria katalikų ir unitų istorijai svarbius RVIA fondus, pateikia apie juos glaustus duomenis ir pagrindinius skaičius, pristato žinyno sudarymo principus. Dėmesį sutelkęs ties dviem Bažnyčiomis – katalikų ir unitų, autorius žinyne pagrįstai išskiria du stambius skyrius: Romos katalikų Bažnyčios archyvai ir Graikų katalikų Bažnyčios archyvai, kiekviename jų pateikdamas atskirus teminius blokus pagal fondus. Daugiausia teminių blokų autorius išskyrė Kitatikių dvasinių reikalų departamento fonde. Pavadinimai įvardija dokumentų turinį, o išdėstymas pagal abėcėlę palengvina paiešką. Tarp baigiamųjų įvadinio straipsnio eilučių galima įskaityti, kad RVIA vadovybės palaikymo žinyno autorius neturėjo. Turint tai omenyje, žinynas įgauna dar ir kitą vertę, tapdamas vaizdžiu dabartinės katalikų Bažnyčios situacijos sparčiai sekuliarėjančiam pasauly istorijos faktu. Radwan; Russian state archive; State Historical Archives of St. PetersburgThe reviewed book is not targeted at a wide audience, but is definitely worth the attention of Lithuanian historians who investigate the peripaetia of the history of the Lithuanian Church and the religious life in the 19th–20th c. The activities of Polish Professor Marian Radwan, who did a huge work in the Russian State Historical Archive (RSHA) in Saint Petersburg, have been crowned by a new directory which presents the church stocks kept at the RSHA. The directory is limited to the archival sources revealing the history of the Catholic and Uniate Churches. The introductory article briefly discusses the RSHA stocks relevant to the history of Catholics and Uniates, gives concise data and key figures and presents the principles of the structure of the directory. Focusing on two Churches – Catholic and Uniate – the author reasonably distinguishes two large chapters: the archives of the Roman Catholic Church and the archives of the Greek Catholic Church. Each chapter contains thematic units according to the stocks. The stocks of the Department for Spiritual Affairs of Foreign Confessions have the biggest number of thematic units. The titles name the content of documents and the alphabetical order facilitates the search. The final lines of the introductory article inform that the author of the directory received no support from the RSHA management. With this in mind, the directory acquires additional value by becoming an ostensive historical fact of the current Catholic Church situation in the rapidly secularising world
Poetry ars divina: Musaeus’ Prophetic Oration in the Epic Poem Radivilias by Jan Radwan
No full textHeroic epic poem entitled Radivilias sive de vita et moribus praeclarissime gestis immortalis memoriae illustrissimi principis Nicolai Radivili … libri quattuor, by Jan Radwan, was published in Vilnius in 1592.
The historical narration about the chief events connected with the Livonian War (1558-1582) when Poland and the Great Duchy of Lithuania were struggling against Ivan, the Terrible serves as a setting for a panegyric portrait of the main hero of the poem, Mikołaj Radziwiłł, the Red and his heroic deeds.
The author of Radivilias takes Radziwiłł to Helicon, place sacred to a succession of poetic memories, where he meets Musaeus. This part of the poem resembles Cicero’s Dream of Scipio, but we can see an essential difference between these two texts (Cicero - dream, dead ancestors, rational justification, Radwan - mythological motif, legendary poet Musaeus and poetry as a source of wisdom). Radwan is very realistic. He does not dream about return of the Golden Age, but emphasises the fragility of earthly glory and concentrates his attention upon the only true life - the life after death.
This article aims at discussing Radwan’s conception of the function of the Musaeus’ prophecy in the whole context of the poem. The attention is being given also to a prohetic significance of poetry

A New Selective Medium for Isolation of <i>Clavibacter michiganensis</i> subsp. <i>michiganensis</i> from Tomato Plants and Seed
No full text A new selective and highly sensitive medium was developed for isolation of Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis (Cmm), the causal agent of bacterial canker of tomato, from seed and latently infected plants. The new medium (BCT) proved to be superior to all published semiselective media for Cmm and is denoted as selective medium because of (i) its mean plating efficiency, amounting to ≤89% within 7 days for all 30 Cmm strains from different sources tested; (ii) the high selectivity, because accompanying bacterial species occurring on tomato plants and seed or bacteria obtained from culture collections were inhibited to an extent of 98 to 100%; and (iii) the remarkable detection sensitivity. Thus, 8 CFU of Cmm in field plant homogenates containing 12,750 CFU of accompanying saprophytes were detected on BCT. Under these extreme conditions, all of the published semiselective media (D2, KBT, D2ANX, SCM, mSCM, CMM1, mCNS, and EPPO) gave false-negative results. Either some media were rather toxic and Cmm growth was also inhibited or the other, less toxic media allowed growth of high numbers of saprophytes, so that Cmm growth was suppressed. Exclusively, BCT also supported growth of the closely related C. michiganensis subsp. insidiosus, nebraskensis, and tessellarius. The new medium is recommended for Cmm detection in tomato seed, and in symptomless tomato plantlets, to improve disease control of bacterial canker of tomato. </jats:p

No full textThe author shares his reflections on state of art in housing and urban planning, deficiencies, expectations and possibilities in the Sahel region of Africa. He notices, that the housing problem in Africa is one of the challenges, which should be solved in order to recover life dignity of African people and secure their rights to traditional family life in acceptable conditions. The paper describes the studies on the typical dispersed urban structures and the need to foster this type of settlement structure and proposals of introduction of new on light steel frame housing system in the area of Sahel, combining the traditional way of building houses with modern technology. The particularly analysed case, is the housing problem in the Republic of Chad. The author presents the basic discussion on this topic and his architectural proposals. Unfortunately, the gap between the needs and the financial feasibility of housing construction in this area, makes this project already at the starting point extremely difficult to be realized without external subventions.Problem mieszkaniowy w Afryce jest jednym z wyzwań, które należy rozwiązać, aby Afrykanie mogli odzyskać godność życiową i zabezpieczyć swoje prawa do tradycyjnego życia rodzinnego w akceptowalnych warunkach. W artykule opisano badania nad typowymi rozproszonymi strukturami miejskimi i potrzebą wspierania tego typu struktur osadniczych oraz propozycji wprowadzenia nowego systemu konstrukcji domów, opartym na lekkim szkielecie stalowym, łączącym tradycyjny sposób budowania domów z nowoczesną technologią. Przypadkiem szczególnie analizowanym jest problem mieszkaniowy w Republice Czadu. Autor przedstawia podstawową dyskusję na ten temat i swoje propozycje architektoniczne. Niestety luka między potrzebami mieszkaniowymi w Czadzie a finansową wykonalnością budownictwa mieszkaniowego w tym obszarze sprawia, że projekt ten, już w punkcie wyjścia, jest niezwykle trudny do realizacji bez uzyskania zewnętrznych dotacji
Impact Study of NoSQL Refactoring in SkyServer Database
No full textData modeling in NoSQL databases is notoriously complex and driven by multiple and possibly conflicting requirements. Researchers have proposed methodologies to optimize schema design of a given domain for a given workload; however, due to the agile environment in which NoSQL databases are usually employed, both domain and workload are frequently subject to changes and evolution - possibly neutralizing the benefits of optimization. When this happens, the benefits of a new optimal schema design must be weighed against the costs of migrating the data. In this work, we empirically show the benefits of schema redesign in a real publicly available database. In particular, we identify multiple snapshots (in terms of domain extension and querying workload) in the 20+ years evolution of SkyServer, demonstrate how NoSQL schema optimization at a given time can later backfire, and evaluate the conditions under which data migration becomes beneficial. This takes us to define the foundations and challenges of a framework for continuous NoSQL database refactoring, with the goal of helping DBAs and data engineers decide if, when, and how a NoSQL database should be reconsidered to restore schema design optimality
