Jurja i Tripuna (oporučni spisi), predstavljaju različiti oblici komunikacije hrvatskih iseljenika u Mlecima s Bratovštinom S. Rocco, u prošlosti jednom od najpoznatijih i najuglednijih bratimskih udruga u gradu na lagunama. Obrađuju se zavičajna, profesionalna i društvena struktura Hrvata povezanih s Bratovštinom S. Rocco i predstavljaju temeljne sastavnice koje se odnose na upućenost Hrvata sa spomenutom bratovštinom.In this article, on the basis of the extant archival sources kept in the State Archives in Venice and in Archive of St. George and Triphon fraternity (testaments), author tries to describe various relationships of Croatian emigrants in Venice with the members of St. Rocco fraternity, which was one of the most prominent and most respectable fraternities in the history of Venice. Author tries to analyze provenience, professional and social structure of the Croats related to the fraternity of St. Rocco, which was quite important regarding these relations between Croatian emigration and the aforementioned fraternity. Since the primary sources for this investigation were testaments, which contain rather specifi c
sort of information, this investigation was focused chiefl y at the information regarding the burial place – taking into account all the testators who had chosen St. Rocco fraternity as their last resting place. Moreover, author also has analyzed all the legacies regarding the bestowal of the fraternity and their members, as well as the legacies regarding the funeral ceremony that included the fraternity or its members. At the end, author emphasizes that one of the purposes of this research was to point out importance of this, not so known but very signifi cant, part of daily life of Croatian emigration in Venice

No full textThe main purpose of this doctoral thesis is to investigate the relationship between design orientation and market orientation and propose a new conceptual model. Existing models were investigated. The initial conceptual model was proposed as the starting point. The research combined qualitative and quantitative methods. Quantitative research was conducted among managers and CEOs from Croatian companies in different industries. According to the final PLS-SEM model, design orientation has a direct and significant impact on market orientation and an indirect but significant impact on business success. Managerial approach has a direct and significant impact on design orientation, as well as on market orientation of a company. The new design orientation-market orientation model contributes to both marketing and design scholars, as well as implications for marketers, designers, and managers in practice. Our findings demonstrate that companies with higher level of market orientation and supported with design orientation also have the potential for achieving better results in the market and, consequently, better financial performance. It also provides the basis for future research on the topic.Tržna naravnanost je koncept, ki je proučevan v številnih študijah, vendar ne v povezavi z naravnanstjo na dizajn, še posebej pa je to področje neraziskano v državah v tranziciji. Namen te raziskave in prispevka je prestaviti osnovne dimenzije oziroma strukturo naravnanosti na dizajn in prikazati njeno povezanost s tržno naravnanostjo. Raziskava je bila izvedena v več stopnjah, s kombinacijo kvalitativnih in kvantitativnih metod. Izvedli smo serijo poglobljenih intervjujev ter nato nadaljevali z zbiranjem kvantitivnih podatkov pre spleta, pri čemer so glavni informanti bili vodilni menedžerji v hrvaških podjetjih iz različnih panog. Za testiranje raziskovalnega modela in povezav v modelu smo uporabili metodo delnih najmanjših kvadratov (PLS) in modeliranje strukturnih enačb (SEM). Rezultati potrjujejo osnovno hipotezo, da obstaja pozitivna povezanost med naravnannostjo na dizajn in tržno naravnanostjo. Nadalje rezultati potrjujejo tudi podhipotezi, to je, da je naravnanost na odjemalce pozitivno povezana z vsemi dimenzijami naravnanosti na dizajn kot tudi, da je strateški marketing pozitivno povezan z vsemi dimenzijami naravnanosti na dizajn. Proučevana koncepta sta zelo kompleksna in večdimenzionalna in vseh vidikov oziroma dimenzij ni mogoče zajeti v eni raziskavi. Omejitev raziskave je tudi velikost vzorca kot posledica nizke odzivne stopnje anketiranih. Raziskava prispeva k razumevanju vloge dizajna v marketingu in poudarja neposredno povezanost s tržno naravnanostjo

On treatment of sugependymal giant cell astrocytomas and associated hydrocephalus in tuberous sclerosis
No full textBetween 1980 and 1992, 10 children affected by tuberous sclerosis and intra-ventricular subependymal giant cell astrocytomas were surgically treated at the Institute of Neurosurgery, Section of Pediatric Neurosurgery, Catholic University of Rome. Nine patients presented with signs and/or symptoms of intracranial hypertension; in all of them the neuroradiological investigations demonstrated the presence of a space-occupying lesion in the region of the foramen of Monro with secondary ventricular dilation. In the remaining patient, a 5-month-old male infant, an intraventricular mass was discovered by means of an ultrasound examination performed after the first epileptic fit. Three patients underwent a ventriculoperitoneal CSF shunt as first surgical procedure; in 2 of them it was subsequently necessary to remove the intraven-tricular tumor due to the frequent occlusion of the CSF shunt device. Seven subjects underwent the direct surgical excision of the lesion. In all of them the procedure resulted in the control of the associated hydrocephalus. On the basis of such an experience, the authors conclude that the surgical removal of the intraventricular tumors in patients with tuberous sclerosis and hydrocephalus is the most appropriate treatment. In fact, in the series considered here, the removal of the tumor was not accompanied by significant morbidity, and was followed by improvement in clinical conditions. In particular, in cases in whom the occurrence of hydrocephalus was associated with a worsening in the seizure disorder, the tumor removal and the correction of intracranial hypertension was followed by a significant reduction in frequency or even by the disappearance of the seizures. However, in no case presenting with mental impairment was a significant improvement observed in mental performances as a consequence of the surgical treatment. © 1995 S. Karger AG, Basel
