CULTURAL DIFFERENCES IN YOUTH PERCEPTION ABOUT GHOSTING BEHAVIOR
Ghosting or the art to disappear suddenly and without a trace from one's life represents an old phenomenon and is increasingly met by many people. Ghosting is a relatively new term, aroused a few years ago and specific to our generation, which has become more and more popular as society accepted it as if it were a normal online behavior among people, although it is not normal at all and can also have a negative impact on both the practitioner and the affected person. Our research team has developed the project Keeping youth safe from Cyberbullying, aiming to deeper understand the dynamics of cyberbullying in online environments among youth. Our focus was in analyzing the cultural differences between Romanian, Belgian, Turkish and Spanish youth perception about online ghosting behavior, in 507 high school students. Results show that there are statistically differences in the opinion of Romanian, Belgian, Turkish and Spanish youth regarding the emotional effects of ghosting on internet. Conclusions and implications are discussed
EXPLORING THE PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS OF CHATGPT:A QUALITATIVE STUDY: 10.24250/jpe/Vol.32/1/2023/DR/GR
As chatbots become increasingly prevalent in our daily lives, it is important to consider their psychological implications. In this qualitative study, we conducted a focus group with 10 psychology students who had experience interacting with chatbots. Participants discussed their emotional responses, attitudes, and behaviors related to chatbots, as well as ethical concerns. Thematic analysis revealed four main themes: (1) convenience and efficiency, (2) frustration and dissatisfaction, (3) social and emotional connections, and (4) ethical considerations. The findings suggest that chatbots can provide convenience and efficiency, but may also lead to frustration and dissatisfaction when they are unable to meet users' needs. Additionally, participants reported feeling a sense of social and emotional connection with chatbots, and expressed concerns about ethical issues such as data privacy and the potential for chatbots to replace human interaction. These findings have implications for the design and implementation of chatbots, as well as for ethical considerations in their use
UPSTANDERS AND THE EMOTIONAL EFFECT OF THE HAUNTING BLUE TICKS
Most of today’s youth communication happensonline, thus representing a big part of their lives. Commutingfrom offline to online communication, creates a bunch ofdifficulties, misunderstandings, gaps, in other words notrealizing how our words are being received. When onlinecommunication goes wrong, in terms of youth virtuallyhurting other youth - bully-victim situations - there are alwayswitnesses or bystanders who participate passively and do nottake action. An upstander is a person who participates in anonline aggression and acts, standing against any act ofinjustice or intolerance and intervening on behalf of a personbeing attacked or bullied. Our research team has developedthe project Keeping youth safe from Cyberbullying, ID 2016-3-TR01-KA205-036619 aiming to deeper understand thedynamics of different cyberbullying aspects in onlineenvironments among youth, by creating an onlinequestionnaire composed by single item research, questionsrelated to core concepts and perceptions about cyberbullyingmotives and effects. Our focus is in analyzing the effects of“seen†messages emotional impact on upstanding behavior incyberbullying incidents, in 507 high school students fromRomania, Belgium, Turkey and Spain. Results show thatwhen modelling effects of “seen†messages on upstandingbehavior, the curvilinear model (3%) is more consistent thatthe linear model (2%), even if both models show statisticalsignificance. Psychological and methodological conclusionsand implications are discussed
HOW TO INFER MATHEMATICAL SEQUENTIAL MEDIATION RELATIONSHIPS FROM NETWORK ANALYSIS: 10.24250/jpe/1/2025/DR/GR/
This paper explores the statistical inference of mathematicalsequential mediation relationships through network analysis, utilizing JASP for network modeling and SPSS Process Macro(Model 6) for mediation analysis. Sequential mediation analysisis particularly useful when dealing with highly complextheoretical models or when no theoretical model exists, enablingexploratory or confirmatory studies of specific mediationrelationships. Network analysis serves as a complementary toolto identify potential pathways and interrelations within variablesbefore applying mediation models. The paper includes anapplied example within a study that uses an extended TechnologyAcceptance Model (TAM) to identify factors promoting TAMadoption among preschool teachers. The methodologicalimplications of combining sequential mediation and networkanalysis are discussed, offering significant contributions to thebehavioral sciences

The dynamics of the relationship between just-for-fun online harassment and perceived school safety
[EN] Based on previous analysis needs, our expert team has implemented the
project Keeping youth safe from Cyberbullying financed by Erasmus+ KA2,
focusing on the in-depth dynamics analysis of the cyberbullying phenomenon
that unfortunately has become more and more present in youth online
environments. Our team has designed an online questionnaire with the
purpose of collecting descriptive data about youth participants, general
perception about the cyberbullying particularity incidents, perceived safety
of the educational setting and perceived parental support, and lastly a selfrating evaluation scale on self-efficacy perceptions. A total of 92 participants
voluntarily responded to. Present research’s focus is the analysis of the
association between just-for-fun online harassment type of cyberbullying and
youth perceived school safety. Our team has used a curvilinear regression
analysis for depicting curvilinear effects, in order to test the hypothesis
assuming the curvilinear relationship between youth perceived school safety
and just-for-fun online harassment type of cyberbullying. Results confirm the
curvilinear relationship, implying the fact that the weaker and as well as the
stronger educational context safety is perceived, just-for-fun online
harassment type of cyberbullying is present in school; a medium/normal
school safety perception triggers a lower just-for-fun online harassment type
of cyberbullying incidence in youth. Authors further discuss the implications
of these findings, in terms of cyberbullying prevention strategies.Rad, D.; Roman, A.; Dughi, T.; Demeter, E.; Rad, G. (2020). The Relationship Between Social Media Context Awareness and Active Coping During COVID-19: the Mediation Effect of Positive Reframing
Awareness of the context of social media is identified as an emerging technical capacity relating to the awareness of the social digital community in which a particular experience takes place, realizing the impact on the observer of the perceived social media context, rationalizing the process of social media information undergoing and owning trust for acting on social media. This investigation is an explorative research, analyzing data form 403 Romanian respondents in an online survey, regarding the psychological effect of the imposed social isolation, over respondent's coping mechanisms. We used the Brief-COPE to determine efficient and inadequate ways to deal with adverse situations and the 4 items SMCA social media context awareness scale. The hypothesis is that the association between social media context awareness (SMCA) and active coping (AC) is mediated by positive reframing (PR), as a potential enhancer of active coping under prolonged social isolation periods over the general population. The standardized indirect effect found was (.11) × (.37) =.04, supporting the mediation hypothesis, suggesting that rather than a direct causal relationship be-tween the SMCA and the AC, our mediation model proposes that SMCA influences the PF mediator variable, which in turn influences the dependent variable AC. Social media context awareness along with positive reframing as a mediator, in a stressful situation, are enhancers of an active coping mechanism
Oration of John of Damascus on the feast of annunciation in edition and translation of Gavril Stefanovic-Venclovic
Gavril Stefanovic Venclovic is, in many ways, a unique figure in Serbian
literature. Today, we know this travelling preacher, hieromonk and scribe as
the author of a huge collection of handwritings, out of which some less than
a half written in folk language. Most of them are translations of
Church-Slavonic anthologies to Serbian, with valuable Venclovic?s adaptations
and additions to the source text. An Annunciation Day oration by John of
Damascus is particularly interesting in that sense. By its dialog form, it
was suitable for Venclovic?s literary method, as his numerous additions and
adaptations show. Conversations between Archangel Gabriel and Virgin Mary,
and Virgin Mary and Joseph get distinct folklore character in Venclovic?s
interpretation. This paper brings an overview of Venclovic?s edition of
Annunciation Day oration by John of Damascus. In order to provide a broader
context, we present a brief history of Annunciation Day celebration, as well
as the historical development of this feast?s orations in Christian
tradition, with focus on Venclovic?s likely sources. To illustrate his
original literal creation, segments without matches in source text are
extracted. Language and colloquial tone of Venclovic?s edition have their
roots in the source text. However, they are also in line with his
enlightenment endeavour, expressed in his effort to reach his listeners in
order to pass the orations moral efficiently. For these reasons, Venclovic?s
insertions in John?s oration are numerous and represent a sketch of folk
spirit from the first half of 18th century, as well as an alternative path
along which the written language could have been developed.</jats:p

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PSYCHOLOGICAL DISORDERS ASSOCIATED WITH SOCIAL MEDIA USE PERCEPTION AND FAKE PERCEIVED ONLINE PERSONA AWARENESS : 10.24250/JPE/2/2020/DR/ED/SI/GR/AR
The digital identity, online identity or internet persona, is defined as a social identity, an actively constructed presentation of oneself that an individual creates in online communities and digital environments. Considering social identity theory as an explanatory framework, this paper brings evidence on the dynamic relationship between psychological disorders associated with social media use perception and fake perceived online persona awareness in cyberbullying. The concept of digital wellbeing refers to the overall wellbeing index generated by the interaction between humans with social digital environments, like social media platforms. Rethinking mental illness in the light of digital footprints and traces people leave on social media platforms, encompasses the possibility that an event to become toxic and pathologic is exponentially higher in the digital realm that in the real life, as such developing a pathology associated with the usage of digital environment becomes exponentially higher. The question becomes is this new emerging digital pathology really a psychological pathology or just a response to a digital adversity situation/environment/person? Our research team has developed the projects Keeping youth safe from Cyberbullying and Hate’s Journey, aiming to deeper understand the dynamics of different digital aggression aspects in online environments among youth, by creating an online questionnaire composed by single item research questions related to core concepts and perceptions about digital aggression motives and effects. The paper’s focus is on analyzing the psychological disorders associated with social media use perception impact on fake perceived online persona awareness in cyberbullying and digital hate speech incidents, in 206 participants residents of Latvia in 24.8%, Romania 24.8%, Spain 24.8%, and Turkey 25.7%, with an age mean of m=30 years, 39.8% males and 60.2% females. Data analysis results depict that when modelling the effect of psychological disorders associated with social media use perception on fake perceived online persona awareness in cyberbullying, the curvilinear model (19%) is more consistent that the linear model (15%), with both models showing statistical significance. Psychological conclusions and implications in regards to digital wellbeing perspective are discussed
