Full text linkMit der Komödie Der Hofmeister oder Vorteile der Privaterziehung hat J. M. R. Lenz aufgezeigt, wie die emanzipatorischen Aspekte eines philosophischen Projekts, das die Reflexionen von Jean-Jacques Rousseau und Immanuel Kant für Freiheit und Unabhängigkeit als ideale Vorbilder hatte, durch disziplinäre Tendenzen verdrängt und verdrängt wurden antidemokratische Merkmale Preußens im 18. Jahrhundert, die ein günstiges Umfeld für Machtmissbrauch durch die Monarchie und eine Bourgeoisie geschaffen haben, die bestrebt ist, die Privilegien des Adels zu reproduzieren. Mit der Präsentation dieses Textes von Lenz beabsichtige ich, seine Relevanz für die Zeitgenossenschaft sowie sein Echo in den Werken von zwei der größten deutschen Dramatiker des 20. Jahrhunderts hervorzuheben: Bertolt Brecht und Heiner Müller.With the comedy The preceptor or Benefits of Private Education, J. M. R. Lenz pointed out how the emancipatory aspects of a philosophical project that had the reflections of Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Immanuel Kant in favor of freedom and independence as ideal model were supplanted by the disciplinary and anti-democratic tendencies of the eighteenth-century Prussia, producing a favourable environment to power abuses of the monarchy and of a bourgeoisie eager to reproduce the privileges of the nobility. With the presentation of that Lenz' text, I intend to emphasize its relevance to contemporary as well as its echoes in the work of two of the greatest twentieth-century German dramatists, Bertolt Brecht and Heiner Müller.Con la comedia El preceptor o Las ventajas de la educación privada, J. M. R. Lenz señaló cómo los aspectos emancipatorios de un proyecto filosófico que tenía como modelos ideales las reflexiones de Jean-Jacques Rousseau e Immanuel Kant a favor de la libertad y la independencia, fueron suplantados por tendencias disciplinarias y características antidemocráticas de la Prusia del siglo XVIII, generando un ambiente propicio a los abusos de poder por parte de la monarquía y de una burguesía ansiosa por reproducir los privilegios de la nobleza. Con la presentación de este texto de Lenz pretendo resaltar su relevancia para la contemporaneidad, así como sus ecos en la obra de dos de los más grandes dramaturgos alemanes del siglo XX: Bertolt Brecht y Heiner Müller.Com a comédia O preceptor ou Vantagens da Educação Particular, J. M. R. Lenz apontou como os aspectos emancipatórios de um projeto filosófico que tinha as reflexões de Jean-Jacques Rousseau e Immanuel Kant a favor da liberdade e da independência como modelos ideais foram suplantados pelas tendências disciplinadoras e antidemocráticas da Prússia setecentista, produzindo um ambiente favorável aos abusos de poder da monarquia e de uma burguesia ansiosa em reproduzir os privilégios da nobreza. Com a apresentação desse texto de Lenz, pretendo salientar sua relevância para a contemporaneidade, bem como seus ecos no trabalho de dois dos maiores dramaturgos alemães do século XX: Bertolt Brecht e Heiner Müller

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
