Consumo de frutas no município do Rio de Janeiro: subsídios para a definição de estratégias para o agronegócio.
As frutas são alimentos importantes para a saúde da população e para o agronegócio. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o consumo de frutas no Município do Rio de Janeiro. Foram entrevistados 290 consumidores, em supermercados, feiras, na CADEG (Centro de Abastecimento do Estado do Rio de Janeiro) e na COBAL (Companhia Brasileira de Alimentos). A amostragem levou em conta o tipo de estabelecimento e a renda per capita dos bairros onde eles se localizavam.Ref. 0659
Estabilidade cinetica e termodinamica de benzilcobalamina, em presença de detergentes
Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Ciencias Fisicas e MatematicasForam estudadas as velocidades de decomposição térmica da ligação cobalto-carbono na benzilcobalamina em solução aquosa de brometo de cetiltrimetilamônio (CTABr), dodecilsulfato de sódio (SDS), decilfosfato mono e dissódico (NaDP e Na2DP) em função do pH e da concentração de detergente. O efeito de surfactantes no equilíbrio de protonação para o benzimidazol é aquele previsto baseado nos efeitos eletrostáticos (pKaapp = 7,0 em SDS, pKa = 4,25 em água, pKaapp = 4,0 em CTABr; pKaapp = 6,5 em NaDP e pKaapp = 9,0 em Na2DP). Foram calculados os parâmetros termodinâmicos de ativação para a decomposição térmica da benzilcobalamina na presença dos diferentes surfactantes a partir dos valores encontrados para as constantes de velocidade de primeira ordem, nas diferentes temperaturas. Enquanto que a entalpia de ativação varia de 4 Kcal/mol, e a energia livre de ativação 2 Kcal/mol, a entropia de ativação varia de 10 cal/mol.K, indicando efeitos compensatórios envolvendo entalpias e entropias de ativação. O aumento na estabilidade cinética e termodinâmica observado para a benzilcobalamina em presença de micelas catiônicas e aniônicas foi explicado em termos da incorporação dos derivados da vitamina B12 na pseudo fase micelar e reatividade diferencial pelo impedimento da coordenação da molécula de benzimidazol
Dietary Strategies in the Prevention and Treatment of Hypertension in Children and Adolescents: A Narrative Review
This study aims to gather information on effective dietary strategies for the prevention and treatment of hypertension (HTN) in children and adolescents. It discusses specific nutritional models such as the Diet Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH diet), traditional Asian diets, plant-based diets, the Southern European traditional Atlantic diet, and the Mediterranean diet, highlighting the benefits of these approaches. The manuscript also addresses dehydration resulting from insufficient fluid intake among children, as well as the consumption of inappropriate beverages, like soft drinks and energy drinks, which contributes to the development of HTN. Additionally, it examines the role of oxidative stress in the pathomechanism of HTN in children, particularly in relation to the antioxidant potential of food components such as selenium, magnesium, and selected vitamins. The relationship between sodium and potassium intake from food and the development of HTN in children is also explored. Finally, this study discusses public health strategies for the prevention of HTN in children. A comprehensive search was performed across multiple databases, such as PubMed/MEDLINE, the Cochrane Library, Science Direct, and EBSCO. This search focused on locating English-language meta-analyses, systematic reviews, randomized clinical trials, and observational studies from around the globe
Caracterização dos agentes do mercado atacadista na Ceasa/SC: unidade de São José

Programa de Pós-Graduação em Agroecossistemas.Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal, identificar e caracterizar os agentes de mercado da Ceasa/SJ, bem como conhecer e analisar as relações entre eles. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada na unidade de São José da Ceasa/SC, a qual atende a demanda por produtos hortifrutigranjeiros da região da grande Florianópolis. Para tanto se realizou uma pesquisa de caráter exploratório e descritivo, no período de novembro de 2005 a janeiro de 2006, utilizando como instrumento de investigação uma entrevista semi-estruturada. A definição dos entrevistados da pesquisa teve origem no Cadastro Geral de Usuários da Ceasa/SC, atualizado no segundo semestre de 2005, contabilizando 679 agentes de mercado. Estes foram estratificados em três categorias, sendo entrevistados um total de cinqüenta e nove agentes de mercado, sendo: seis atacadistas, doze agricultores comerciantes e quarenta e um agricultores. Os resultados da pesquisa permitiram identificar o perfil dos agentes de mercado: atacadista, agricultor comerciante e agricultor, sua condição enquanto produtor ou comerciante, caracterização da produção, da comercialização e sua participação no mercado atacadista de hortifrutigranjeiros na Ceasa/SJ. Procurou-se identificar também os canais de comercialização e as estratégias utilizadas pelos agentes de mercado, as relações existentes entre os atores, identificando os principais interlocutores na comercialização e formas de negociações destes agentes. Verificaram-se também os volumes negociados, faturamento, grau de satisfação e entendimento do mercado, especialmente da sistemática de formação de preços e as perspectivas em relação a este espaço de mercado e seu futuro. Constatou-se que todos os agentes entrevistados ampliaram a renda familiar com as atividades comerciais na Ceasa/SJ e pretendem continuar operando na mesma. A análise dos resultados revelou que a Ceasa/SJ tem se mostrado um espaço diferenciado para a comercialização da produção dos agricultores usuários da mesma, especialmente por permitir negociação presencial entre agricultores e compradores, responsáveis por 88% dos negócios dos agricultores na central.This work aims identifying and characterizing the market agents of Ceasa/SJ, as well as to know and to analyze the relationships between these. The field research was accomplished in the unit of Ceasa/SC- São José, which assists the demand for fruits and greens vegetable products in the region of great Florianópolis. In order to achieve those goals, a research of exploratory and descriptive characteristic took place, from November 2005 to January 2006, using as instrument of investigation a semi-structured interview. The definition of the interviewees of this research came form the General Survey of Users of Ceasa/SC, updated in the second semester of 2005, accounting 679 market agents. These were stratified into three categories: wholesalers, merchant farmer and farmer. A total of fifty nine market agents were interviewed, among them, six wholesalers, twelve merchant farmers and forty one farmers. The results of this research allowed the identification of the 3 market agents' profile (wholesaler, farmer merchant and farmer), their condition while producer or merchant, characterization of the production, the commercialization and their participation in the wholesale market of fruits and green vegetable at Ceasa/SJ. This work also aimed identification the commercialization channels, the strategies used by the market agents, the existing relationships between the actors, identifying the principal speakers and forms of commercialization of these agents. It was also identified the negotiated volumes, revenue, satisfaction degree and understanding of the market, especially of the systematic of prices definition and the perspectives in relation to this market space and its future. It was verified that all agents interviewed enlarged the family income with the commercial activities at Ceasa/SJ and they intend to continue operating in the same way. The analysis of the results revealed that Ceasa/SJ has been showing if a differentiated space for the commercialization of the farmers' users of the Ceasa/SJ, especially for allowing to present negotiation between farmers and buyers, responsible for 88% of the farmers' businesses in the headquarters

Microstructural changes in nickel and cobalt base superalloys after thermomechanical treatments applied
Nickel and cobalt-base superalloys are widely used in many military and commercial aircraft turbine engines for vanes and other high temperature structural components, owing to their good mechanical properties stress and excellent hot corrosion resistance after prolonged exposure. Cobalt-base alloys, unlike nickel base superalloys, are not strengthened by a coherant, ordered precipitate. The presence of carbide phase has long been recognized as an important strengthening mechanism in cobalt-base superalloys.
