Lõputöö „Ostu optimeerimine metalliettevõtte X näitel“ eesmärk oli analüüsida ja täiustada kinnitusvahendite ostuprotsesse Eestis tegutsevas metalliettevõttes X. Uurimus keskendus peamiste probleemide tuvastamisele varude ja ostujuhtimises ning pakkus tõenduspõhiseid lahendusi nende lahendamiseks. Töö tugines kvantitatiivsele metoodikale, kasutades ettevõtte andmebaasidest ja raamatupidamissüsteemidest saadud andmeid, et
toetada uurimistöö järeldusi. Selle elluviimiseks selgitati, kuidas hetkel toimub kinnitusvahendite ostmine ning ladustamine. Uuriti kinnitusvahendite asukohti ning riiuleid. Loodi uus kinnitusvahendite ostmise süsteem, et kokkuhoida kinnitusvahendeid ja selle läbi ka raha.
Lõputöö jagunes kaheks peamiseks osaks: teoreetiline raamistik ja empiiriline uuring. Töö teoreetilises osas käsitleti ostujuhtimise olulisust kaasaegsetes ettevõtetes, sealhulgas selliseid meetodeid nagu Kraljiči hankeportfell, 5S metoodika, AS-meetodid, ABC-analüüs ja Kanban-süsteem. Need pakkusid raamistiku praktiliste muudatuste.
Empiirilises osas viidi läbi analüüs ettevõtte kinnitusvahendite ostu- ja ladustamissüsteemi puudustest, analüüsides selle praegust ostusüsteemi (AS-IS) ja arendades välja optimeeritud mudeli (TO-BE). Selgus, et kinnitusvahendid olid laos hajutatud ning halvasti märgistatud, põhjustades töötajatele ajakulu ja segadust vajalike komponentide leidmisel.
Analüüsi käigus kasutati AS-meetodeid, et hinnata protsesside efektiivsust ja tuvastada kitsaskohad. Tulemuste põhjal viidi ettevõttes ellu mitmeid praktilisi uuendusi. Praktilised täiustused hõlmasid 5S-metoodika rakendamist ladude korrastamiseks, ABC-analüüsi kasutamist varude prioriseerimiseks ning Kanban-süsteemi juurutamist tõhusamaks varude haldamiseks. Luksepadega viidi läbi riiulite korrastamine, markeerimissüsteemi uuendamine ja selgelt mõistetavate nimetuste juurutamine riiulitele ja karpidele. Need muudatused parandasid töökorraldust ja tootmisprotsesside sujuvust märkimisväärselt.
Töö näitas, et A- ja B-kategooria tarnijatega on Eestis keeruline hinda kaubelda. Paljud suurettevõtete peakorterid asuvad väljaspool Eestit, mistõttu on hinnapoliitika jäik ja hinnamuutustele reageeritakse aeglaselt. Töö autor on pidanud läbirääkimisi eelkõige kohalike edasimüüjatega, kes asuvad Eestis või Soomes, kuid kuna Eesti kuulub Skandinaavia hinnapiirkonda, ei ole allahindlust tihti võimalus saada. Samuti on Bkategooria
tarnijad, nagu uuritud ettevõtte X puhul, Eesti ettevõtted, kelle käive sõltub suuresti ettevõttest X. Selliste tarnijate hinnapoliitika on juba väga konkurentsipõhine, mistõttu on hinnaläbirääkimiste võimalused piiratud. Seetõttu jääb peamine hinna optimeerimise võimalus C-kategooria tarnijate kanda.
Uurimistöö tulemusena tõdeti, et kinnitusvahendite ostuprotsesside optimeerimine võib märkimisväärselt parandada kulutõhusust, vähendada operatiivseid viivitusi ja tugevdada ettevõtte konkurentsivõimet. Näiteks Kanban- ja 5S-metoodika rakendamine parandasid töövoogusid ja vähendasid raiskamist. Samas on väga suured lootused alustatud RFIDsüsteem juurutamisel koos ERP programmiga, et vähendata kulusid veel. Kokkuvõttes tõi töö ettevõttele olulist lisandväärtust, suurendades efektiivsust ja kohanemisvõimet keerulises majanduskeskkonnas.SUMMARY
The purpose of this graduation thesis, Optimization of Procurement in a Metalworking Company X, is to analyze and enhance the procurement processes for fasteners to achieve greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The study identifies key challenges in inventory and procurement management and offers evidence-based solutions to address these issues. The research is based on a quantitative methodology, analyzing data obtained from the company’s database and accounting systems to support the conclusions.
The thesis is divided into two main sections: a theoretical framework and an empirical study. The theoretical section examines established methodologies, including the Kraljič Portfolio Matrix, 5S methodology, ABC analysis, and Kanban system, which provide a foundation for optimizing procurement and inventory management. The empirical study focuses on Company X, a manufacturer of forestry cranes and trailers, analyzing its current procurement system (AS-IS) and proposing an optimized model (TO-BE).
The analysis uncovered several inefficiencies in fastener management, such as unorganized storage, inadequate labeling, and limited supplier capabilities, all of which contributed to increased costs and production delays.
The proposed improvements involve implementing the 5S methodology to organizestorage, applying ABC analysis to prioritize inventory, and adopting the Kanban system tostreamline inventory management. These measures increased profit from fasteners by17%.
Additionally, vendor-managed inventory (VMI) and digital procurement tools were recommended to improve supplier collaboration and reduce lead times.
The research concludes that optimizing procurement processes can significantly enhance cost efficiency, reduce operational delays, and improve the company’s competitiveness. In Estonia, negotiating better prices with A- and B-category suppliers proves challenging due to their rigid pricing policies and the fact that decision-making processes are often centralized abroad. This limits the ability of local procurement managers to negotiate directly with manufacturers. Nevertheless, the study demonstrates that significant cost savings can be achieved by optimizing C-category products, with potential savings often
easier to realize than initially anticipated.
Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of regular procurement audits and continuous employee training to maintain process efficiency and foster ongoing development. These measures not only sustain the effectiveness of existing solutions but also enhance the company’s ability to adapt swiftly to market changes. The recommendations align with the company’s long-term strategic objectives, including
strengthening competitiveness, promoting sustainability, and increasing flexibility in the international marketplace
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
