Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Peristiwa tumpahan minyak di lingkungan laut dapat menyebabkan kerusakan pada ekosistem mangrove. Penilaian kerusakan ekosistem ini dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan model integrasi menggunakan analisis indeks kepekaan mangrove, model tumpahan minyak dan perhitungan nilai ekonomi. Hingga kini penggunaan model integrasi hanya terbatas pada indeks kepekaan mangrove dan model tumpahan minyak, sehingga diperlukan pengembangan 3 (tiga) model integrasi pendugaan kerusakan ekosistem mangrove dengan menggunakan komponen nilai ekonomi. Model ini akan menampilkan simulasi pola sebaran minyak, tingkat kerentanan ekosistem mangrove dan nilai kerusakan mangrove tersebut akibat tumpahan minyak secara terintegrasi
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan model integrasi penilaian kerusakan ekosistem mangrove akibat tumpahan minyak dengan mengabungkan nilai IKM (Indeks Kepekaan Mangrove), pola sebaran minyak, dan nilai kerusakan ekosistem mangrove.
Penelitian ini dilakukan di sembilan Kecamatan di Selat Peleng Kabupaten Banggai dan Banggai Kepulauan. Tahap pertama penelitian adalah membuat skenario tumpahan minyak dan pemilahan lokasi yang diprakirakan terkena dampak tumpahan minyak yaitu Batui Selatan, Batui, Luwuk Timur, Lamala, Masama, Balantak dan Bualemo (terletak di wilayah administratif Kabupaten Banggai) dan Kecamatan Bulagi dan Buko (terletak di wilayah administrasi Kabupaten Banggai Kepulauan) serta melakukan survei awal untuk sensus masyarakat dan nelayan yang tinggal di sekitar area ekosistem mangrove. Tahap kedua melakukan survei kepada masyarakat dan nelayan yang tinggal di sekitar ekosistem mangrove dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling pada 81 responden. Tahap ketiga melakukan pengambilan data primer untuk ekosistem, mangrove dan kondisi sekitar area mangrove (sungai dan pesisir), serta data oseanografi yang diperoleh dari data sekunder. Penelitian dilakukan dari bulan Agustus sampai November 2016. Pengolahan data sosial menggunakan analisis kuantitatif (tabulasi data) yang nantinya akan dihitung menjadi total economy value (TEV), sedangkan untuk ekosistem mangrove dilakukan analisis data dengan menghitung struktur komunitas mangrove Nilai Indeks Kepekaan Mangrove (IKM) menggunakan program Arc GIS, sedangkan untuk pola sebaran minyak menggunakan aplikasi model OILMAP yang akan memperlihatkan pola sebaran minyak secara spasial temporal.
Hasil analisis IKM diperoleh kisaran nilai kepekaan dari sedang hingga peka. Daerah yang memiliki tingkat kepekaan sedang adalah Kecamatan Balantak,

Masama, Lamala, Luwuk Timur, Bualemo, dan Batui (Kabupaten Banggai) dan Buko (Banggai Kepulauan) dengan nilai antara 10.67-22.69. Nilai IKM dengan kategori peka dengan rentang 35.21-44.92 pada kecamatan Batui Selatan (Kabupaten Banggai), dan Bulagi (Banggai Kepulauan). Sebagian besar penduduk memanfaatkan ekosistem mangrove, baik sebagai lokasi untuk mencari ikan dan kepiting maupun untuk diambil kayunya sebagai kebutuhan rumah tangga mereka. Beberapa wilayah yang sudah memiliki peraturan khusus tentang pemanfaatan ekosistem magrove, namun ada juga wilayah yang belum ada peraturan tentang pemanfaatan mangrove, sehingga dikhawatirkan terjadi pemanfaatan ekosistem magrove yang berlebihan.
Total Economy Value (TEV) dilokasi penelitian diperoleh sebesar Rp 22.644.656.169,-/thn, dengan nilai ekonomi tertinggi diperoleh dari manfaat mangrove secara tidak langsung yaitu sebagai pelindung pantai. Nilai tersebut mencapai Rp 16.455.794.485,-thn atau sebesar 72.67%. Pada urutan kedua adalah nilai manfaat mangrove untuk bahan bangunan yaitu Rp 5.827.227.000,-/thn atau sebesar 25.73%). Dari dua skenario yang dibuat, nilai total kerusakan tertinggi pada skenario 1 (Pelabuhan DSLNG) akibat tumpahan minyak sebesar Rp 1.704.734.440,-/thn terjadi pada musim barat yaitu pada bulan November sampai Februari, sedangkan nilai total kerusakan tertinggi pada skenario 2 (Mulut Selat Peleng) sebesar Rp. 10.430.719.378,-/thn yang terjadi pada simulasi musim peralihan kedua yaitu Bulan September-Oktober. Hal ini disebabkan karena pada skenario 2, luas sebaran dampak mencapai 3 kecamatan dengan ekosistem mangrove termasuk katagori baik.
Hasil perhitungan nilai kerusakan dengan menggunakan pendekatan metode respon organisme lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan pendekatan metode generik, oleh karena respon organisme tidak mengasumsikan 100% pohon mangrove mati akan tetapi hanya pohon mangrove yang rentan terhadap tumpahan minyak yang diasumsikan mati (tinggi pohon < 3 m). Model intergrasi dapat menampilkan secara spasial sebaran dari tumpahan minyak, nilai indeks kepekaan mangrove dan nilai kerusakan kerusakan lingkungan ekosistem mangrove secara bersamaan

Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
