EXAMINING CONSUMERS' E-TRANSACTION BEHAVIOUR ADOPTION: AN EXPLORATORY STUDY
This study draws upon the Theory of Planned Behaviour and technology innovativeness literature in determining impact of consumers' personal attitudes, social influence, perceived behavioural control and technology innovativeness on consumers' intention to adopt electronic transaction behaviour, in particular, retail travel service purchases via the Internet. Preliminary findings reveal that respondents generally have positive attitudes towards carrying out online travel transaction behaviour and have the necessary control over potential transaction of online travel services. Technology innovativeness also reveals a significant impact on their intention adoption. Social influence however, does not affect consumers' acceptance of Internet transaction behaviour hence supportingpreviouss research. Keywords: theory of planned behavior, technology innovativeness, consumer, electronic transactions, travel services
Factors influencing Saudi Arabian women's shopping behavior in online purchase activities / Areeg ALMowalad and Lennora Putit
The paper presented a study on factors influencing shopping behavior amongst women
consumers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards online purchase. This study is conducted to
gain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding on the possible factors behind virtual
business transaction. It involves 34 Saudi Arabian women representing diverse background
ranging from 18 to 35 years old. The interview survey consists of open-ended questions and
analyzed through theme analysis procedure. The study yields interesting findings with both trust
(45%) and risk (40%) found to be the key indicating factors that affect consumers’ consumption
decision making. Finally, several implications and recommendations for future research
related to online purchase are subsequently discussed

Exploring relationship marketing tactics & customer loyalty: issues in the Malaysian mobile telecommunication sector / Lennora Putit and Mohamad Fariz Abdullah
Most of today’s business firms are facing numerous challenges in sustaining customer loyalty due to a ferocious competitive environment. This study explores issues on relationship marketing and customer loyalty within the mobile telecommunications sector. In-depth interviews with targeted respondents were conducted to understand their initial perceptions on relationship marketing tactics issues and its influence on customer loyalty. Specifically, the study aims to acquire deeper insights into the motivational drives behind customer loyalty amongst different classes of mobile phone users. Qualitative data were collected using a digital voice tape-recorder, while the transcribing and coding processes were carried out using qualitative software called ATLAS.TI version 7.0. Based on thematic analyses, the findings have identified several themes such as trust, branding, alternative attractiveness, emotions, service quality, price perception, switching barriers, and commitment. Further results revealed suggestions on how to strengthen customer loyalty behaviour in the mobile telecommunications market
Breaking through the Clutter in Media Environment: How Do Celebrities Help?
AbstractAdvertisers need to communicate their company's promotional messages to the target market. However, the advertising environment is highly cluttered. One popular strategy of creatively breaking through the clutter is by using celebrities as brand endorsers in advertisement. Advertisers believe that the celebrity's qualities might transfer to their brand, thus produce favorable campaign result. Celebrity endorsement is not without potential risks. The purposes of this paper are threefold: first, to discuss how the marriage works between the brand and celebrity; second, to describe the benefits accrue from celebrity endorsement and third, to warn of potential dangers of the strategy
Assessment and revitalization of UiTM's Malaysia corporate image: repositioning strategy towards becoming a world class university / Prof. Madya Dr. Rosidah Musa, Dr. Lennora Putit and Jamaliah Mohd. Yusof
This research study aims to investigate the relationship between service quality and University Teknologi MARA's (UiTM) overall corporate image, total students' experience (TSE) and emotional attachment (EA). The study generally adopts a mixed mode approach in its research design. From a total of 1000 respondents, only 726 data were usable and generated for further analysis using SPSS software 16.0 and AMOS 16.0 respectively. Significant implications can be gathered from the said findings. In essence, UiTM should emphasize more on the management of its facilities, followed by program quality being offered and subsequently, the number of student population. Other factors such as support staff and management, academic staff are also playing significant roles in developing students' perception of UiTM's image in general
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
