Anisophya Karabag 1960
Anisophya Karabag, 1960 Type species: Isophya hamata Giglio-Tos, 1894, syntypes deposited at Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali in Torino (MRSNT). Comments: The specimens here identified as Anisophya did not match exactly the generic description, as the individuals we have studied present a sulcate fastigium and appendages or teeth on the cerci. These differences can be somewhat similar to those mentioned by Braun (2011), and we present some comments below. O tamanho relativo das partes de um organismo frequentemente depende do tamanho absoluto do indivíduo, uma relação geralmente descrita por leis de potência (Y = aXb), que quando transformada em logaritmo resulta em uma equação linear (Y = aXb) em que Y é a variável morfológica e X é o tamanho corporal do indivíduo. O coeficiente b designa o quanto e como um aumento no tamanho de uma estrutura X interfere no tamanho da variável Y. O conceito de alometria se aplica para casos onde há uma relação de escala entre os diferentes componentes morfológicos dos organismos, podendo apresentar uma relação hipoalométrica 11(negativa ou positiva) ou então, caso a característica escale proporcionalmente ao tamanho corporal, uma relação isométrica b=1 (negativa ou positiva). Como a hiperalometria positiva geralmente está correlacionado com características sexualmente selecionadas e a comunicação acústica e suas estruturas produtoras de som evoluem sob seleção sexual, foi utilizado uma espécie de esperança, Conocephalus (Anisoptera) saltator como organismo modelo para testar a influência do tamanho corporal e da morfologia do aparelho estridulatório (comprimento da fileira (mm) e número de dentes) nos sinais acústicos (frequência máxima (Hz), potência média (dB) e máximo valor instantâneo de potência (dB) da duração de pulso, intervalo mudo e harmônico) . A relação entre o tamanho corporal e as características do aparelho estridulatório apresentaram uma relação isométrica, enquanto que os sinais acústicos apresentaram uma relação hipoalométrica positiva com o tamanho corporal, com exceção dos harmônicos que não apresentaram relação significativa com essa variável. A morfologia do aparelho estridulatório não apresentou relação com os sinais acústicos. Os efeitos do parasitismo e de variáveis comportamentais que modulam a produção de som são discutidos.As organisms grow, physical and mechanical challenges associated with the increase in size
must be solved. The relative size of the parts of an organism often depends on the absolute
size of the individual, a relation generally described by power laws (Y = aX b ), which when
transformed into logarithm results in a linear equation, log (Y = aX b ), where Y is a
morphological variable and X is the body size. The coefficient b designates how much and
how the increase in a structure X explains the size of the variable Y. The concept of allometry
applies in cases where different traits of organisms scale with body size, as hipoallometric
relations, 1 1, or if the trait is proportionally scaled with
size, b = 1, an isometric relation. As positive hiperallometric relations are expected to occur in
sexually selected traits, and acoustic communication and sound producing structures evolve
under sexual selection, a katydid, Conocephalus (Anisoptera) saltator, was chosen as a model
to study the effects of body size in the morphology of the stridulatory apparatus (length of the
stridulatory file and number of teeth) and in the acoustic signals (maximum frequency,
average and maximum power sound of pulse duration, silent interval and harmonics).
Isometric relations werefound between body size and the morphological structures of
stridulatory file, while acoustic signals scaled with body size as positive hipoallometries, with
the exception of harmonics, where a relation with body size was not found. The morphology

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
