    Direct and comparative visualization techniques for HARDI Data

    DWI is an MRI imaging technique used to gain information concerning the diffusion process in tissue. Using DTI techniques, a diffusion profile can be constructed for fiber tract analysis. Recently developed HARDI techniques increase the detail to visualization on the process of diffusion. While HARDI reconstruction methods are used to model the underlying diffusion process, the HARDI signal attenuation data can be used for a better understanding of noise in DWI data. This project addresses the direct visualization of HARDI data without any intermediate processing steps between acquisition and visualization. We present new glyph shapes for direct and comparative visualization of HARDI data using the signal attenuation or ADC and a multiple linked views layout. We developed new difference metrics to create a complete comparative visualization pipeline to identify and explore areas of interest. Evaluation of our developed methods by means of a case study, indicates the techniques to be a valued addition. The comparative visualization allows for quick identification of areas of interest. Therefore, research is needed that discusses the values ​​of Islam. This is what making this research interesting to do. This research against the background of Islamic values ​​which are divided into 4 formulations problems namely: 1) how are the Islamic values ​​in the Hijab For novel Sister 2 by Anatasha Hardi's aspects of faith, 2) what are values Islam in the novel Hijab For Sister 2 by Anatasha Hardi aspects of sharia ?, 3) how are the Islamic values ​​in the Hijab For Sister 2 novel Anatasha Hardi aspects of morals ?, and 4) how are the values ​​of Islam within novel Hijab For Sister 2 by Anatasha Hardi aspects of science ?. Theory which is used in this study is the theory of Islamic values ​​by (Hamidy, 1993). The research method uses descriptive methods. That approach used is a qualitative approach, using hermenuetic techniques. Data analysis uses content analysis techniques. The results of this study are 4 the concept of Islamic values ​​in the novel Hijab For Sister 2 by Anatasha Hardi. Includes: (1) Aqeedah, can be seen from the belief that the figure of God Almighty knowing which is good and bad and trusting prayer most able to ask Allah Almighty. (2) Sharia, can be seen of the character's belief in the teachings contained in religion Islam. (3) Morals, can be seen from the behavior of a character who is always respect people who are older than him and give each other advice people who make mistakes. while (4) Knowledge, can be seen from the role of a figure who believes that there is no god but Allah and always trust in the power of God. The most widely conveyed morals the author of the novel because it tells the story of life Islamic boarding school children who study in public schools have a positive influence on school environment not only within the school environment but also carried into the community.     Rakenduskõrghariduse lõputöö tehnotroonika erialalIgasuviselt inimestele probleeme tekitavate herilaste ja vaablaste tõrje on küllaltki ajamahukas ja nõuab tihti kõrgustesse ronimist. Käesoleva lõputöö eesmärgiks on projekteerida autonoomne pritsesüsteem, mida on võimalik paigaldada turul saada oleva drooni külge. Drooni tõrje objektideks on herilaste ja vaablaste pesad, mis asuvad kõrgemates ja mitte nii ligipääsetavates kohtades. Töös tutvustatakse tõrjeobjekte ja nende eluviise, samuti tuuakse välja, milliseid tõrjumisviise on nende tõrjeks loodud ja kui efektiivne on neid kasutada. Pritseseadme projekteerimisel arvestati nii mehaanilisi kui ka elektroonilisi aspekte, et luua prototüüp, millega katsepritsimisi teostada. Töö tulemusena projekteeriti seadmele vajalikud konstruktsioonid ja elektroonika skeemid. Prototüübi valmistamiseks vajalikud tehnilised joonised on väljatoodud töö lisas. Lõputöös püsititatud eesmärgid said täidetud. Edaspidi keskendutakse prototüübi tootmisele.The purpose of the project was to develop a pest control drone. Final thesis has been devided to three parts. The first was to study the probleem, how the wasps and hornets live and why the pest control drone is a good solution. The second purpose was to find a proper drone on the market that can carry the payload and has sufficient flight time to fly into the right place. In the third part author designed prototype figures and electrical scheme for the pest control system that is meant to be attached above and below the drone. During the thesis author studied the basic of wasp life, made first prototype of the remote control for the pest control machine on the drone. Author deisigned figures that helped to create the first prototype of this sort of pest control drone

    KOKKUVÕTE Lõputöö eesmärgiks oli koostada Rocca Tower A1 kõrghoone-ja parkimishoone ehituse organiseerimise projekt. Kõrghoonel on kokku 15. korrust, lisaks on veel 4-korruseline parkimismaja. Hooned on omavahel ühenduses kuni viienda korruseni. Rocca Tower aadress on Päevalille 4, Haabersti linnaosa, Tallinn. Arhitektuurse osa kirjeldamiseks on autor aluseks võtnud ARS Projekt OÜ tööprojekti seletuskirja ja konstruktiivse osa kirjeldamiseks OÜ Metropoli projekti seletuskirja. Kõrghoone ehitustööde kalendergraafiku alusel algasid ehitustööd 15. juunil 2020. aastal ning lõppevad 10. septembril 2021. Kalendergraafiku alusel algavad ehitustööd projekteerimistöödega ja lõppevad kasutusloa dokumentatsiooni komplekteerimise ja taotlemisega. Lõputöös koostas autor 6. korruse betoonelementide tehnoloogiakaardi, katusetööde tehnoloogiakaardi ja lisaks ehitusplatsi üldplaani. Ehitusplatsi üldplaanil toob autor välja masinate liikumise skeemi, tornkraanade paiknemise, ehitussoojakute paiknemise ning materjalide ja liitumispunktide asukohad. 6. korruse betoonelementide peatükis on autor kirjeldanud ka tõstemehhanismide valikut. Katusetööde tehnoloogiakaardi peatükis on autor kirjeldanud täpsemalt kõrghoone katuse erinevaid konstruktsiooni lahendusi, mida antud hoonel on kokku kolm. Lõputöö koostamise käigus täiendas autor enda teadmisi kõrghoone ehitustööde organiseerimise ja planeerimise osas. Autor omandas teadmisi raudbetoonelementide monteerimisest, samuti sai teada, kuidas toimuvad objektil ettevalmistustööd ja milline on tööde tehnoloogiline protsess.Project for Organising the Construction of an Apartment Building In this thesis, the author describes the construction of a high-rise building at 4 Päevalille Street, Haabersti, Tallinn. This high-rise building is a 15-storey apartment building, which, up to the 4th floor, is connected to a multistorey car park. There is a lobby and retail space on the ground floor of the high-rise building. There are office spaces on the first and second floor; apartments are located on floors 3–14. The construction work of this high-rise building will begin on 15 June 2020 and will last for 15 months. The construction work begins with design work and ends with the drawing up and submission of the application for the use and occupancy permit. The author drew up a consolidated project calendar which outlines the stages of the construction works and the interrelationships of the works. In the thesis, the author discusses in more detail the assembly works of the concrete elements of the 5th floor of the high-rise building, as well as the roofing work of the high-rise building. In addition, a detailed site map was prepared for the construction site which maps the movement of machinery on the site, the location of materials and temporary buildings, and the location of temporary communications. The author describes in more detail the assembly of concrete elements: how the elements are assembled, how the elements are transported to the object, and the lifting equipment used. In addition, the occupational safety of the works and the safety measures to be taken are described. The author also describes the quality assurance plan which describes the construction quality and the quality control system. In the part describing the roofing works, the author outlines how the flat roof of the high-rise building is constructed. Lifting equipment and division of work into stages are described. In addition, the hazards arising from roofing, occupational safety, and the quality assurance plan for roofing are described. The author of the thesis used the EKE NORA database and time norms for calculating the cost of construction. The total estimated cost of the high-rise building calculated by the author of the thesis was 4,076,633 euros, of which organisational costs make up 12%

    CUMANS AND MONGOLS IN THE REGION OF SREM IN 1241-1242: A DISCUSSION ON THE EXTENT OF DEVASTATION

    On the eve of the Mongol invasion of Hungary in 1241 in order to defend the country as successfully as possible the Hungarian King Bela IV welcomed Cumans to his state (1239). They had previously clashed with the Mongols in the area of the Black Sea region of steppes and they were threatened by them. However, after the murder of their khan Kotyan, Cumans left Hungary in 1241 and found refuge in neighboring Bulgaria. During the retreat southward they devastated the Hungarian border area of Srem (Marchia) and shortly after that armed Mongols themselves passed through this land. On the basis of the analysis of known and indirect sources still not considered in historiography in the context of this topic and based on the views of historiography the author investigates the possible extent of Cuman and Mongol devastation of Srem and these areas in the south of Hungary from 1241 to 1242. The author of the paper adopts a critical approach towards the news of Master Roger, who was particularly shocked by the Cuman destruction of Marchia. His report was credible, but the writer did not have the opportunity to stay in Srem before or after the invasion. The author believes that the Cuman and Mongol invasion did not fully and dramatically influence the depopulation of Srem and the disruption of the local economic life; instead, this invasion had devastating consequences only in some of its segments

    City Motors AS on ametlik Renault, Dacia ja Nissani esindus Eestis ning lõputöö autor keskendus antud töös konkreetselt ettevõtte Lasnamäe esinduse lao optimeerimisele ning töö efektiivsuse tõstmisele. Töö on jaotatud peatükkideks, kus esimeses osas antakse ülevaade ettevõttest ja laondusest üldiselt, seejärel vaadeldakse varuosade tellimist ettevõttes. Järgnevalt sõnastab autor töö eesmärgi, milleks on lao optimeerimine ning toob ära vastavad probleemid või kitsaskohad, millele edaspidi töö autor lahendusi hakkab otsima. Analüüsides probleeme leiab autor, et mitmed probleemid on tegelikult omavahel seotud ning ühe probleemi lahendamine suudaks likvideerida ka teised. Viimases peatükis toob autor välja ettepanekud ning kirjeldab nende võimalikku elluviimist eelpool äratoodud probleemidele. Olgu mainitud, et kuigi töö autor ise antud ettevõttes enam ei tööta, on ta siiski huvitatud ettepanekute esitamisest City Motors AS Lasnamäe esinduse järelteeninduse juhile ning vajadusel nende elluviimise realistlikkust edasi arutama. Autori arvates on hetkel kõige suuremaks probleemiks lattu jäänud (nn „seisvate“) varuosade suur osakaal, mis võtavad enda alla nii laopinda kui ka hoiavad kinni ettevõtte raha, mis nende soetamiseks ja transpordiks kulutatud on. Lao toimivust saab hinnata väga lihtsalt näiteks selle näitaja alusel, kui palju on laos kinni nn „seisvat kaupa“ ehk varuosasid, millede ladustamisaeg on üle 1 aasta. Kriitiline piir on sealjuures 6 – 11 kuud, mille jooksul on kõige suurem tõenäosus, et varuosa jääb lattu veel mitu korda pikemaks ajaks seisma. Mida suurem on ladu ning mida rohkem on seal kaupa, seda rohkem võib tekkida potentsiaalseid probleeme ehk arvestades City Motors AS Lasnamäe esinduse lao suurust, on probleemide tekkimine ühest küljest vältimatu, kuid õigel ajal neile jälile saades on võimalik suuremat võimalikku rahalist ning varalist kahju ettevõttele ennetada ja sealjuures ennetada taolisi probleeme ka tulevikus.City Motors AS is the official car dealership for Renault, Dacia and Nissan in Estonia and author of the thesis focused specifically on optimizing the warehouse and work efficiency of the company’s Lasnamäe branch. Thesis is dividend into chapters, where the first part provides an overview of the company and storaging generally, then author observes the ordering of spare parts in the company. Next the author formulates the purpose of the work, which is to optimize the warehouse, and points out the corresponding problems or bottlenecks after which the author starts looking for solutions to these problems. Analyzing the problems author finds that several problems are interrelated and solving one problem could also eliminate others. In the last chapter author outlines the suggestions and describes their possible implementation of the abovementioned problems. It should be mentioned that although the author of the work no longer works in this company, he’s still interested in submitting suggestions to the after-sales manager of the City Motors AS Lasnamäe branch and if necessary, discuss further the realism of their implementation. In the author’s opinion, the biggest problem at the moment is the large proportion of spare parts left in the warehouse (so-called „standing goods“), which take up both, the warehouse space and the company’s money spent on their acquisition and transportation. The performance of the warehouse can be evaluated very easily on the basis of this indicator, how much „standing goods“ (spare parts with a storage time of more than 1 year) are stuck there in the warehouse. The critical limit is 6 – 11 months, during which is the highest probability that the spare part will remain in the warehouse several times longer. The bigger the warehouse and the more goods there are, the more problems can be found, so considering the size of the warehouse of the City Motors AS Lasnamäe branch, the occurrence of problems is inevitable on the one händ, but by tracking them in time, it is possible to prevent greater possible financial and property damage to the company and while also preventing such problems in the future

It ends with addressing both a personal backlash the author experienced and critiques directed toward feminist work in the region. Drawing on her experiences in conducting PhD research with Kurdish women refugees in the UK, postdoctoral research on women survivors of the Anfal genocide in Kurdistan, and a comparative analysis of the experiences of women survivors of the Anfal and Yezidi genocides, the author provides insights into the intricate landscape of feminist research in challenging contexts

    Exploring biogas stakeholder interaction in the Netherlands: An Agent Based Modeling approach to explore location specific biogas system performance under different scenarios

    Biogas networks can reduce CO2 emissions by replacing natural gas consumption with biogas consumption. This means that biogas production can contribute to the Dutch targets to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% and increase renewable energy production to 16% by 2020 compared to 1990 levels. It is unclear how the biogas infrastructure system will develop over the coming years in the Netherlands and therefore how it will contribute to the Dutch CO2 reduction and renewable energy production targets. A deep understanding of the biogas infrastructure system and the impact of different policies and external factors over the long term is currently missing. Current scientific literature proposes policy changes to develop the Dutch biogas system, but it does not quantify the effects of these proposals. Linear programming approaches have been used to quantify the impact of different model parameters, but are unsuitable to capture system development and policy changes due to their over simplification of reality. Nevertheless, computer simulation of the biogas system is a useful way to assess the impact of policies and scenarios over a long period of time. In fact, simulation is necessary since biogas networks are an innovation in biogas production and there are only a few existing biogas pipelines and biogas grids under development in the Netherlands. Agent based modeling is useful for modeling system developments and policy changes by separately modeling the institutions, technical system and stakeholder interactions. Agent based simulation of biogas networks is relatively new, which leads to the following research questions: How can we develop a simulation model to explore the conditions for, and characteristics of a robust biogas infrastructure system? 1. What social aspects are relevant to model for the biogas infrastructure system? 2. What technical aspects are relevant to model for the biogas infrastructure system? 3. What operational aspects are relevant to model for the biogas infrastructure system? 4. What parameters is the simulation model sensitive to? Models are simplifications of reality, which is why the first research objective is: To create a conceptual model which captures the biogas system concepts in a structured way and which serves as a bridge between the real world and computer simulation model. In order to study the biogas system it has to be implemented in a computer simulation model, resulting in the second research objective: To run experiments on the biogas simulation model to explore the conditions for and characteristics of a robust biogas system. Outcomes In this research a conceptual model of the Dutch biogas infrastructure system was created using the MAIA meta-model. The conceptual model focusses on the biogas production by agricultural firms and water treatments. The conceptual model can be used by programmers, without any prior knowledge of the biogas infrastructure system, to implement a simulation model. In this research the conceptual model was implement in an agent based model using NetLogo and experiments were performed on the simulation model to explore the conditions for and characteristics of a robust biogas system. The outcomes provide insights in the possible development of the biogas infrastructure system and the parameters that drive these developments. Results A robust biogas infrastructure system can develop without any subsidies, but the future is very uncertain. In 54% of the cases there is no biogas production since it is not economically viable. In the remaining 46% agricultural biogas projects have a positive cash flow. However, around 69% of the projects have a negative Net Present Value. External market prices for co-substrates, natural gas and CO2 largely determine the feasibility and profitability of biogas production. Longer depreciation periods as well as increasing natural gas prices increase the initial profitability of biogas, but also expose agricultural firms to the risks and uncertainty of external price developments. Socialization of biogas pipeline costs does not increase the biogas systems’ performance in terms of biogas production and yearly profits. Renegotiating biogas prices for existing contracts increases the profitability of biogas projects, because it reduces the risks of changing external market prices for biogas producers. Reflection The conceptual model should be expanded with additional sub-systems, such as local manure and co-substrate markets, to better understand their dynamics and impacts. There is little information available about the production and direct use of biogas. Assumptions underlying the Net Present Value calculations largely determine experimental outcomes, which makes it harder to meaningfully interpret and use the data. Few policy options were explored during the experiments, limiting the amount of policy recommendations that can be made. Policy recommendations The following policy recommendations are expected to reduce the uncertainty of biogas production and profitability. Policy implementation is expected to increase biogas production by 37% and average cash flows by 64%. However, around 66% of the biogas projects are still expected to have a negative Net Present Value. Expand the positieve lijst to allow agricultural firms to use a wider range of co-substrates as well as local waste streams. This is expected to lower the costs of co-substrates for agricultural biogas producers. 1. Increase depreciation periods to 15 years, but operate the biogas production for the duration of its (longer) technical lifetime. Investments in biogas projects should be earned back within a reasonable period, but technical lifetimes far exceed the economic lifetimes of biogas assets. 2. Redistribute uncertainty in a fair way by periodically renegotiating contract prices. Biogas contracts have a long lifetime and the price of biogas should be adjusted to changes in the prices of natural gas, co-substrates and CO2. Future research More research domains should be combined by expanding the conceptual model, resulting in a richer model that can better explain emerging system behavior. Especially the manure and co-substrate sub-systems are important candidates due to their high impacts on operational costs of agricultural biogas producers. Efforts should be made to compare simulation models of the biogas system in terms of structure and output. As more simulation models are being created comparisons can lead to new insights, or comparisons can put simulation results into perspective. Additionally, the usefulness of different simulation methods can be assessed. Smart agents should be implemented to allow for better decision making in the dynamic biogas system. This allows the agents to make predictions and decisions based on historical and current information. Persisting trends are not recognized by normal agents, which can put them at risk in a biogas system where the value of biogas and the price of co-substrates are not linked together. Further research should be done to challenge and improve the underlying assumptions of the Net Present Value calculations of biogas projects. Other measures, such as Return on Investment, should also be explored. Collaborative modeling can help in creating scenarios that are accepted by the involved stakeholders.
