The project for the construction of the Muntilan Christian Church Building in Muntilan, Magelang Regency, Central Java, which is viewed from the Structural, Geotechnical and Construction Management Sector, was prepared by Adithya Aladar (191317568) and Nafarani Bongga (191317834). The Muntilan Christian Church building consists of 2 (two) main buildings, namely the Church Building and the Management Building which are connected by connecting bridges on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. However, in this design the author focuses on designing building 1 or the Church Building. . The design of this building covers three areas, namely Structure, Geo- Engineering and Construction Management which are interrelated with one another. In designing the Indonesian Christian Church Building the method used is a quantitative research method in which the author must collect numerical data or numbers so that conclusions can be drawn from existing calculations, for example such as the design of columns, beams and floor slabs to the analysis of project costs and time. The structural material specifications used in this design include the Profile Steel used is BJ 342 with a yield stress of 240 MPa and Ultimate Stress of 370 MPa, Modulus of elasticity of steel 200,000 MPa, Concrete compressive strength at 28 days old with fc' 30 MPa. For cost and time management, everything is guided by SNI by using the newest Work Unit Price Analysis each year according to the given project location. Calculations made always refer to working drawings which contain the terms and conditions that apply. The structural design of the Muntilan Indonesian Christian Church begins with the calculation of the roofs of building 1 and building 2. In planning the roof structure, the church Muntilan Indonesian Christians use the WF roof. Structural columns have one size, two types of main beams, one type of child beams, and four types of floor slabs. The design in the field of Geo-Engineering at the Muntilan Indonesian Christian Church has a sandy loam soil type obtained from the interpretation of soil data from the SPT and CPT tests, because it is based on the calculation of the carrying capacity of the piles compared using two methods, namely Meyerhoff and Briau et al, in the construction of the Christian Church building Indonesia Muntilan uses a pile foundation because it has a safe limit at a depth of 18 meters. Design in the field of Construction Management for the Muntilan Indonesian Christian Church includes the preparation of WBS, calculation of activity volume, unit price analysis, calculation of activity duration, Precedence Diagram Method, Network Diagram, Barchart, S-Curve, Worker Scheduling and Budget Plan. So from the calculations and analysis above, the Muntilan Indonesian Christian Church takes a total of 323 days (11 months) with an estimated cost of Rp. 31,733,896,353,719.37 In the field of Construction Methods the drafting team used Unit Price Analysis in accordance with the project location, namely in Magelang

Light, Everything we currently, ever, or will see in the world, the fact is due to the presence of light. without light there is no color, shape, and of course we cannot distinguish the material, distance, and the nature of the object when not it’s not illuminated by light. Therefore the author felt it is important to discuss about lighting, especially for applications in the author’s field of interest, 3D Animation. In this journal, will be found an alternative to a more efficient way to do lighting and rendering in 3D animation projects using a variety of theories and basic knowledge of light

Diverse Scripts, Same Mistakes: Identifying Common Pitfalls in the Typographic Designs of Indonesian Traditional Scripts

    No full text
The writing traditions of Indonesia are characterized by scriptural diversity, although today most of the traditional scripts have been supplanted by Latin in everyday use. There are revitalization efforts and design attempts to use these scripts in more contemporary settings. However, many efforts suffered from substandard typographic quality that does not represent the inherent nature or design spirit of authentic materials. To better understand and problematize this phenomenon, this study conducts historical and literature review using qualitative methods. The typographic quality of some key materials is described and presented in chronological order to show how flawed representation in some materials seem to be perpetuated into contemporary design. A review of archival materials from the 20th century onward reveals that a drop in typographic quality happens concurrently with the disappearance of traditional script from everyday use. The public’s unfamiliarity with traditional scripts was then exacerbated by flawed representation in secondary material references published privately and by the government alike throughout the 1980s to the early 2000s. Notwithstanding their scholarly content, their representation of traditional scripts often shows typographic sloppiness that poorly represent normative and variant letterforms found in primary materials. Some contemporary designs pitfalls of traditional scripts can be traced to the uncritical over-reliance to these secondary materials, such as diacritic miniaturization and graphic stereotyping. There are some indications that typographic awareness and quality is improving in some communities in conjunction with increase of digital use and better access to primary materials. But whether this improvement proved sustainable in the long run remains to be seen. The author hopes that by identifying these pitfalls, future designers will pay more attention to typographic issues in Indonesian traditional scripts and can apply more informed design decisions that contribute to the revitalization of this heritage

Good animation movie needs to be communicative and deliver its meaning to the audience. One of the most important aspects is to design an effective movement for the animation. In movement, the thoughts and characteristics of a character are shown. Expression of a characters can be seen through their movement and body gestures. Body gestures show us an expression, emotions, traits, thoughts, and each different characters. Characters do t move effectively if the movement does t correspond to its characteristics. To understand the characteristics we need to understand each characters physiology, sociology, and psychology. In this research, the author explains and analyze the process of designing a rat movement with a human personality
