The agricultural modelling world has generated several models aiming at the analysis of the response of the sector to certain changes in exogenous mainly policy variables. Among those, the CAPRI modelling system developed by a consortium centred on the University of Bonn and the AGLINK-COSIMO model, a joint product of the OECD and the FAO, are well known and accepted as comprehensive tools. This analysis focuses on a qualitative comparison of both models and particularly on the process of setting up the baseline. The baseline is a medium-term projection of agricultural markets reflecting current policies and those already decided upon. This projection in turn serves as the base for comparisons when analyzing scenarios. It is shown that CAPRI uses generic and automatic procedures whenever possible for conducting the database and the baseline, while AGLINK-COSIMO puts more emphasis on expert knowledge in this process. Both approaches are shown to have certain advantages while the conclusion that a combination of them would potentially improve both models will be drawn from this analysis.CAPRI, AGLINK-COSIMO, Baseline process, Agricultural and Food Policy,

Man, wondering for himself discovers the existence of the spiritual world. The source of this spiritual reality can only be the most perfect spiritual being, namely God. There are different routes to encounter with God. This article shows one of these human paths to God, which was crossed by the French philosopher Gabriel Marcel. For Gabriel Marcel his personal an experience of the beauty of music has become an important factor in the meeting with God, who is the source of all the beauty. The first part of the article presents some small outline of the Church’s teaching on beauty as an attribute of God. God is the highest (absolute) beauty and the source of all beauty. Each created beauty participates in this highest beauty and it is the image of the Creator and His beauty. In an art, and therefore also in music, as the Church teaches (recently John Paul II and Benedict XVI spoke about it), man can find a reflex of God’s beauty. Music can therefore be one of the way to God. In the next part of the article is presented an important impact that music has had on the life and philosophical thought of Marcel. Music was accompanied our author throughout all his life. Marcel often listened the music. He played the piano and composed his own pieces. Music was also a tool with which Marcel explored the deepest crannies of the human spirit. Music helped Marcel meet One who is the source of beauty. It is to this theme to which is dedicated the last part of the article. Marcel has sought and found the way to find the eternal and personal THOU. Music and theater were to the French thinker the „creative testimony” of the spiritual and transcendent world. In conclusion we can say that the meeting with the great, beautiful music opens man up to the spiritual world. Music opens man to God who is the source of what is beautiful in the world, so we can say that music is a trace of God. Gabriel Marcel, his life experiences and philosophical obserwation can serve the man as a guidepost in his searching of God.Man, wondering for himself discovers the existence of the spiritual world. Ułatwienie dostępu do wymiaru sprawiedliwości w Europie

The Author is one of the initiators of work on harmonization of procedural law of the EU countries. According to the European Convention on Human Rights, each citizen has a right to a „fair trial within a reasonable time before an independent and impartial judge”, therefore the Author is of opinion that harmonization of law is especially necessary in the area civil law. The provisions of the Amsterdam Treaty, Article 65 in particular, constitute a breakthrough in civil procedural law. Tampere Agenda of 1999 emphasizes the importance of easier access to justice, which can be effected by setting minimum standards for cross-border disputes and harmonization of judicial procedure, enabling court decisions to be mutually recognizable. The Author mentions the European Order for Payment, whose structure is based on a report by a team of experts led by the Author in 1993, as an example of a successful attempt at harmonization of procedural law. Next, he presents a comparative study of two European regulations, namely the procedure of payment order and regulations on small claims. In the final part, he provides a list of conclusions drawn from the comparison. W dalszej części, przedstawia studium porównawcze dwóch regulacji w Europejskim prawie procesowym, mianowicie procedury nakazu płatności i regulacji w sprawie roszczeń drobnych, a w podsumowaniu prezentuje szereg wniosków płynących z porównania

Transcendencja, immanencja, tajemnica: Figury niewidzialności Boga we współczesnej fenomenologii religii

The article addresses the problem, which has not yet been analyzed in the Polish philosophical and anthropological literature, and which deals with the subject of unknowability or invisibility of God in the contemporary French phenomenology of religion. The text focuses on the ideas of transcendence, immanence and mystery as developed and further elucidated by Emmanuel Lévinas, Michel Henry and Gabriel Marcel. The author deduces from the philosophical discourse on the three concepts that the transcendence (as understood by Lèvinas) and immanence (as perceived by Henry) are the ideas which unilaterally carry out the tasks set for them by their authors, which is “to protect” God from objectification to which the phenomenological method leads when applied to the problem at stake, in particular, as it was presented by Edmund Husserl. Not only Lévinas and Henry were in opposition to this method but so was Marcel. who had used the concept of mystery for the same reason. According to the author of the article, neither the transcendence (Lévinas) nor the immanence (Henry) but the concept of mystery (as developed by Marcel) is the one which «protects» God the most efficiently against objectification. From the phenomenology of religion point of view the most important thing is that in Marcel’s thought God does not appear as a phenomenon (as Gerardus van der Leeuw and Lévinas and Henry believed), and yet that does not exclude the religious relationship between Man and God. According to Lévinas and Henry this biblically understood relation cannot exist even though their concepts also have relatively strong foundations in the Bible. Therefore, the author of the text believes that the Marcelian concept of mystery meets the expectations of a believer (homo religiosus) better than the Lévinasian concept of transcendence and the Henrian idea of immanence. The concept of God as the Mystery as developed by Gabriel Marcel allows man to enter into a religious relationship with God by the means of prayer. Dlatego autor tekstu uważa, że Marcelowska koncepcja tajemnicy lepiej odpowiada oczekiwaniom człowieka wierzącego (homo religiosus) niż koncepcje transcendencji i immanencji odniesione do Boga. Wypracowana przez Gabriela Marcela koncepcja Boga jako Tajemnicy pozwala bowiem na wejście z Nim w relację religijną dzięki kierowanej ku Niemu modlitwie

Capturing the psychologic-personal perspective in spinal cord injury

Objective: The overall objective of this study was to illustrate a systematic approach for capturing the psychologic-personal perspective in International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health-based comprehensive research on spinal cord injury (SCI) in terms of what and how to measure. The specific aims were to identify (1) relevant areas of research for capturing the psychologic-personal factors in a study that is planned and conceptualized according to the comprehensive context of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, using SCI as a case in point; (2) a set of domains relevant for SCI research from a psychologic-personal perspective; and (3) suitable measurement instruments that can be considered for the assessment of those identified domains based on a set of predefined guiding principles.Design: The psychologic-personal factor structure was developed based on an item pool of 1246 entries from secondary analyses of available data from SCI studies. The domain set for psychologic-personal factors was identified through reviewing the scientific literature in PubMed and PsycInfo. The set of measurement instruments was collected using available measurement reviews, searches in the literature, instrument databases, and further sources and was selected using guiding principles. Results: Forty specific psychologic-personal factors, subdivided into seven areas of research, were identified: (1) sociodemographic personal characteristics, (2) the position in the immediate social and physical context, (3) personal history and biography, (4) feelings, (5) thoughts and beliefs, (6) motives, and (7) patterns of experience and behavior. The psychologic-personal factors domain set contains both cross-cutting outcome domains, namely quality-of-life, life satisfaction, subjective well-being, and sociodemographic personal characteristics, life events, positive and negative affect, perceived stress, locus of control, self-efficacy, purpose in life, coping, lifestyle, and personality. For each of the identified domains, a pool of measurement instruments was listed, and the application of predefined guiding principles for measurement instrument selection was exemplified for self-efficacy. It resulted in the selection of the General Self-Efficacy Scale by Schwarzer and Jerusalem (Measures in Health Psychology: A User's Portfolio. Causal and Control Beliefs. pp. 35-37; 1995).Conclusions: The results of the current article contributed to creating a transparent protocol for the Swiss Spinal Cord Injury Cohort study, coordinated by the Swiss Paraplegic Research in Nottwil, Switzerland. This article also stresses the relevance of the comprehensive approach to SCI and the consideration of the psychologic-personal perspective in this approach. The study, therefore, hopes to encourage scientists to use the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health and the psychologic-personal perspective as a frame of reference for their research. Furthermore, the research reported in this article can inform the World Health Organization's future development of the personal factors classification in the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health
