Get PDFThe present paper aims to expose the results of the actions carried out by the Cujae Cultural Heritage Group (GPCC) in the training of students and workers from the integration of the substantive processes that they lead; For this, it is necessary to refer to the creation of an elective subject on the subject taught to more than 60% of the 1st year students of the careers (and 20% between 2nd and 5th year), which generated a system of audiovisual media and other didactic and promotional resources corresponding to the respective forms and methods of the substantive university processes, influential in an integral way in the student formation. In teaching, the most relevant aspects of university heritage are learned, and in extension, the communication of this content assimilated by students to the university and extra-university community is highlighted. Consequently, in both processes, research on the subject is activated. The results denote that heritage is not something static that is preserved, but rather a constantly generated phenomenon. It is concluded that the results obtained in the 10 years since the creation of the GPCC, and the integrity that it shows in its management of the three substantive university processes, endorsed the recent opening of the Chair of Cultural Heritage and its corresponding research project where students and workers of the Cujae participate.Se exponen los resultados de las acciones realizadas por el Grupo de Patrimonio Cultural de la Cujae (GPCC) en la formación de estudiantes y trabajadores a partir de la integración de los procesos sustantivos que protagonizan; para ello, es necesario referir la creación de una asignatura electiva sobre el tema, impartida a más del 60 % de los estudiantes de primer año de las carreras (y el 20 % entre segundo y quinto años), la que generó un sistema de medios audiovisuales, y otros recursos didácticos y promocionales, correspondiente a las formas y los métodos respectivos de los procesos sustantivos universitarios, influyentes de modo integral en la formación estudiantil. En la docencia se aprende lo más relevante del patrimonio universitario, y en la extensión se destaca la comunicación de este contenido asimilado por los estudiantes a la comunidad universitaria y extrauniversitaria. Consecuentemente, en ambos procesos se activa la investigación sobre el tema. Los resultados denotan que el patrimonio no es algo estático que se preserva, sino un fenómeno generado constantemente. Se concluye que los resultados obtenidos en los diez años de creado el GPCC y la integralidad que muestra en su gestión de los tres procesos sustantivos universitarios avalaron la reciente apertura de la Cátedra de Patrimonio Cultural y su correspondiente proyecto de investigación, donde participan estudiantes y trabajadores de la Cujae
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textEl objetivo del presente trabajo es diseñar una estrategia metodológica para la recuperación del Patrimonio Cultural del Municipio El Cerro, que integre los tres Procesos Sustantivos Universitarios (PSU)1 desde el taller integrador de Proyectos de cuarto año de la Carrera de Arquitectura. La oportunidad la ofrece la necesidad sentida de la población del Municipio El Cerro y el interés gubernamental. Se aplica aquello que se define como prácticas integrales (PI). El problema surge de las carencias del “saber hacer” en la CUJAE de lo que en teoría se precisa y acepta como enfoque integracionista de los PSU. Los resultados son entre otros, la estrategia metodológica modeladora de la práctica integral y sus productos; se concluye que una práctica integral que articule los procesos sustantivos en función de la formación integral de estudiantes, favorece la comunicación universidad-sociedad.The aim of this study is to design a methodological strategy for the recovery of the Cultural Heritage of the Cerro municipality, integrating the three Main Processes of the University (PSU) from the integrator workshop Project 4th year of the School of Architecture. The opportunity is offered by the felt need of the population of the municipality of El Cerro and government interest. It applies what is defined as integral practice (PI). The problem arises from the shortcomings of the "know-how" in the CUJAE what in theory is defined and accepted as the integrationist approach of the PSU. The main results are: the modeling methodology comprehensive strategy practice and products. It concludes that a comprehensive practice that articulates the substantive processes reconfigures all its components according to the integral formation of students, teachers and community members to the extent that promotes university-company communication.Cuencavolumen 5, número
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Get PDFWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
