Trust Management and Delegation for the Administration of Web Services
The availability and adoption of open protocols allow applications to integrate Web services offered by different providers. Moreover, simple services can be dynamically composed to accomplish more complex tasks. This implies the delegation of both tasks and permissions. In fact, delegation is intertwined with some notion of risk, on the one hand, and trust, on the other hand. Well founded socio-cognitive models of trust may orient managers and system administrators to delegate tasks and goals to the most trusted entities, after conscious evaluation of risks and gains associated with the decision. This chapter presents different mechanisms and models that have been proposed for establishing secure delegations in open environments. They include Role-Based Access Control, Trust Management, and Federated Identity. Complex frameworks and live systems have been realized according to these models. However, their administration remain a challenging task. Ongoing research works in various fields, such as Automated Trust Negotiation, promise to simplify the practical realization and configuration of delegation-based systems

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Diseño de un prototipo de optimización del consumo eléctrico para las salas de cómputo con el uso de LOT y técnicas supervisadas de aprendizaje automático en la Universidad Cooperativa De Colombia, sede Ibagué.
A causa de la integración que tiene el ser humano con las nuevas tecnologías, este ha tenido que relacionarse con otros haciendo uso de diferentes dispositivos electrónicos los cuales le permiten realizar esta interacción, aumentando cada vez el consumo eléctrico.
Para la Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, sede Ibagué, el consumo eléctrico es uno de los mayores valores en los presupuestos anuales. Debido a esto, se quieren generar estrategias tales como la expuesta en este documento que permitan una disminución en los consumos eléctricos, con el fin de mitigar los altos costos de la energía eléctrica y a su vez la disminución en el calentamiento global con el fin de generar la conservación del medio ambiente.
Por esto se genera un prototipo de tipo IoT que permita la disminución del consumo eléctrico, el cual se apoya con el aprendizaje automático que permiten predecir los patrones de comportamiento de los consumos eléctricos en las salas de cómputo de esta institución.
Para esta investigación se utilizó un método cuantitativo con un tipo de estudio descriptivo que permite analizar diversas variables dependientes e independientes y una metodología de desarrollo de software en espiral.
De acuerdo con los resultados obtenidos del prototipo se obtuvo una efectividad para medir el consumo eléctrico superiores al 85% y una efectividad superior al 95% en las predicciones del algoritmo del aprendizaje automático utilizado. Como trabajo futuro se realizará una investigación que integre el uso de sensores con una mayor efectividad y dispositivos que permitan obtener mejores métricas.Due to the integration that human beings have with new technologies, they have had to interact with others using different electronic devices which allow them to carry out this interaction, increasing electricity consumption each time.
For the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Ibagué headquarters, electricity consumption is one of the highest values in the annual budgets. Due to this, they want to generate strategies such as the one set out in this document that allow a decrease in electrical consumption, in order to mitigate the high costs of electrical energy and in turn the decrease in global warming in order to generate The conservation of the environment.
For this reason, an IoT-type prototype is generated that allows the reduction of electricity consumption, which is supported by machine learning that allows predicting the behavior patterns of electricity consumption in the computer rooms of this institution.
For this research, a quantitative method was used with a descriptive type of study that allows the analysis of various dependent and independent variables and a spiral software development methodology.
According to the results obtained from the prototype, an effectiveness to measure electricity consumption greater than 85% was obtained and an effectiveness greater than 95% in the predictions of the automatic learning algorithm used. As future work, an investigation will be carried out that integrates the use of sensors with greater effectiveness and devices that allow obtaining better metrics.Resumen. -- Introducción. -- 1. Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
