Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

O PAPEL DA COMUNICAÇÃO NÃO-VIOLENTA NA RESOLUÇÃO CONSENSUAL DE CONFLITOS: EFICÁCIA NA MELHORIA DA QUALIDADE DAS INTERAÇÕES INTERPESSOAIS
Get PDFDiante da problemática do sufocamento do aparato judiciário, há por consequência congestionamentos nas resoluções de lides, ausência de acesso à justiça, gastos financeiros às partes envolvidas, bem como morosidade ao atendimento às questões sociais, fazendo-se primordial debater alternativas a tal situação. Diante disso, o objetivo do presente resumo expandido é, em âmbito geral, solucionar os conflitos interpessoais por meio de técnicas humanizadas. Em âmbito específico, verificar a eficácia da CNV para o seu atendimento, visto a sua proposta atrativa. No presente trabalho foi utilizado o método dedutivo, em pesquisas de tipo qualitativa. Para tanto, houve o emprego da técnica de pesquisa bibliográfica por meio de dissertações, artigos científicos, livros e normas jurídicas. Tendo como finalidade levantar informações da técnica de CNV nas mediações. De acordo com o psicólogo estadunidense Marshall Bertram Rosenberg (1934-2015), em seu livro A Comunicação Não-Violenta (CNV), Técnicas para Aprimorar Relacionamentos Pessoais e Profissionais (Ágora, 2006), a utilização da compaixão, a empatia e a compreensão são ferramentas essenciais para resolver conflitos de forma consensual. Marshall apresenta princípios norteadores da comunicação inteligente e amigável, que fogem à linguagem técnica e distanciadora dentro do diálogo. Resumidamente, os princípios defendem que dentro das relações interpessoais faz-se necessária a aplicação da prática da observação de pessoas e situações sem julgamento, a transparência dos sentimentos, como pela autoexpressão, conhecimento das necessidades das pessoas envolvidas, solicitações amigáveis ao invés de exigências, bem como o exercício da empatia por meio da escuta. Deste modo, Marshall convida o leitor a questionar as relações interpessoais desempenhadas dentro da sociedade, como questionar o sentido de sermos “ensinados a estar "direcionados aos outros", em vez de em contato com nós mesmos (ROSENBERG, Marshall Bertran. 2006)”, bem como “nosso repertório de palavras para rotular os outros costuma ser maior do que o vocabulário para descrever claramente nossos estados emocionais (ROSENBERG, Marshall Bertran. 2006)”. Assim, defende que no âmbito da mediação e da negociação, a CNV oferece ferramentas valiosas para mediadores e facilitadores, tendo em vista que ao estarem equipados com habilidades de CNV, esses profissionais podem guiar as partes através de processos de resolução de conflitos mais eficazes, ajudando a transformar disputas em oportunidades de entendimento e cooperação. A CNV é um tema recente dentro dos estudos das ciências humanas, havendo atualmente escassez de materiais que abordem exclusivamente a metodologia desenvolvida pelo psicólogo. Contudo, há diversos artigos científicos que concordam que a abordagem pacífica e empática possui maior eficiência no auxílio na resolução de conflitos. Débora e Charles afirmam que a CNV permite ao mediador “intervir melhor nos possíveis conflitos, administrando e conduzindo o processo de forma que as partes consigam se expressar e também consigam escutar o outro (FRANÇA, Débora Leão; COUTO, Charles Cesar. 2021).” Bem como, prosseguem frisando a responsabilidade do mediador em observar e conduzir a resolução, visto que, deverá “renunciar seus julgamentos, permitindo-se a desenvolver um processo comunicativo entre as partes e expandido as possibilidades de interação (FRANÇA, Débora Leão; COUTO, Charles Cesar. 2021).” Silva e Lângaro, inclusive, expõe a possibilidade de aplicação da CNV pelas próprias partes em eventual conflito futuro, visto a prática desenvolvida, visto que “se corretamente empregada pode levar os indivíduos a criarem condições para tratarem os seus próprios conflitos, de forma pacífica e sem precisarem recorrer à interferência de instâncias superiores (SILVA e LÂNGARO, 2014)”. Ainda, citam que o desenvolvimento da empatia e compreensão dos indivíduos em solucionar os seus conflitos, promoverá menos necessidade em “recorrer a autoridades superiores para que essas determinem o significado do certo, do errado, do bem e do mal. (SILVA e LÂNGARO, 2014)”. Diante dos estudos realizados, conclui-se que a sua utilização nos conflitos interpessoais auxilia em suas resoluções, tendo em vista a necessidade de observação do raciocínio psicológico sobre o indivíduo, o avaliando como ser possuidor de perspectivas internas e externas, afetando por consequência relações humanas. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
