    ANALISIS STRUKTURAL-SEMIOTIK PUISI PIERROT DAN PIERROT GAMIN KARYA PAUL VERLAINE

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan 1) unsur intrinsik dalam puisi Pierrot dan Pierrot Gamin yang berupa (a) aspek bunyi, (b) aspek metrik, (c) aspek sintaksis, (d) aspek semantik ; 2) makna semiotik dalam puisi Pierrot dan Pierrot Gamin karya Paul Verlaine. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah puisi Pierrot dan Pierrot Gamin karya Paul Verlaine yang diambil dalam kumpulan puisi yang berjudul La bonne chanson, Jadis et naguère et Parallelement yang diterbitkan oleh Gallimard pada tahun 1979. Teknik analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis konten yang bersifat kualitatif. Pengadaan data dilakukan dengan penentuan unit analisis,pengumpulan data dan pencatatan data. Validitas ditentukan berdasarkan validitas semantik dan konsultasi data (expert jugement) oleh Ibu Indraningsih, M.Hum. Reliabilitas dilakukan dengan pembacaan secara berulang-ulang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan 1) unsur intrinsik puisi berupa (a) aspek bunyi, untuk puisi Pierrot terdapat bunyi dominan yaitu vokal [/e/, /ɛ/, /ø/, /έ/,/u/,/õ/, /a/, /ǝ/, /oe῀/, /ᾶ/] dan [/l/, /m/, n/,/k/, / R/] untuk puisi Pierrot Gamin terdapat dominasi vokal [/e/,/ɛ,/a/,/i/,/y/] dan konsonan [/r/,/p/, /t/, /k/, /l/],(b) aspek metrik dalam puisi Pierrot terdiri dari empat bait, dalam bait-bait tersebut terdiri atas 3décasyllabes et 7 hendécasyllabes, 4 alexandrins. Untuk Puisi Pierrot Gamin terdiri dari 6 bait dalam bait-bait tersebut terdiri atas 21 heptasyllabes, 13 hexasyllabes, dan 2 pentasyllabes. Berdasarkan sifatnya terdapat rima feminin dan maskulin. Berdasarkan kekayaannya terdapat rima suffisantes (sedang), rima riches (kaya) dan rima pauvre (miskin). Menurut susunannya, puisi Pierrot memiliki rima embrassés (berpeluk) dan rima plates (datar). Pada puisi Pierrot Gamin memiliki rima campuran. Berdasarkan analisis irama pada kedua puisi terdapat 50 césure (jeda panjang), 33 coupe (jeda pendek) dan 8 enjambement (enjambemen), (c) aspek sintaksis terdapat 17 parafrase, (d) aspek semantik dalam kedua puisi terdapat majas metafora, personifikasi, simile, hiberbola, repetisi, 2) pada makna semiotik terdapat tanda-tanda semiotik berupa ikon, indeks dan simbol. Unsur semiotik kedua puisi tersebut menceritakan kehidupan seorang tokoh pantomim yaitu Pierrot terutama tentang perjalanan karirnya

    MeSH term explosion and author rank improve expert recommendations

    Information overload is an often-cited phenomenon that reduces the productivity, efficiency and efficacy of scientists. One challenge for scientists is to find appropriate collaborators in their research. The literature describes various solutions to the problem of expertise location, but most current approaches do not appear to be very suitable for expert recommendations in biomedical research. In this study, we present the development and initial evaluation of a vector space model-based algorithm to calculate researcher similarity using four inputs: 1) MeSH terms of publications; 2) MeSH terms and author rank; 3) exploded MeSH terms; and 4) exploded MeSH terms and author rank. We developed and evaluated the algorithm using a data set of 17,525 authors and their 22,542 papers. On average, our algorithms correctly predicted 2.5 of the top 5/10 coauthors of individual scientists. Exploded MeSH and author rank outperformed all other algorithms in accuracy, followed closely by MeSH and author rank. Our results show that the accuracy of MeSH term-based matching can be enhanced with other metadata such as author rank

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Karier questions whether current R&D policy, especially the research and experimentation tax credit, can contribute to closing the gap between nondefense expenditures on R&D in the United States and such expenditures in other countries, such as Japan and Germany. He also explores possible changes to our current R&D policy to make it more effective.

    音樂史에서 가장 중요한 인물중의 한 사람인 Arnold Schoenberg는 Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven을 주축으로 하는 제 1 비엔나학파(The First Viennese School)의 뒤를 이은 제 2 비엔나학파의 창시자이며 지도자였다. 19세기 말엽부터 20세기 중엽까지에 Schoenberg는 그의 창작품을 통하여 무조성의 새로운 기풍과 美를 나타내었으며, 그의 작곡기법을 제도화 하였는데 이는 20세기 音樂의 새로운 방향을 제시하고 새로운 思潮를 예언하는 것이었다. Sc'hoenberg의 작품은 다음의 3期로 구분된다. 제1기 : Wagner전통을 고수하는 후기 낭만주의 제2기 : 무조성 혹은 불협화음 해방의 시기 제3기 : 12음기법 및 조성음악의 시기 〈Pierrot Lunaire〉는 멜로드라마로서 제2기의 마지막 작품에 속한다. 이 작품은 솔로 소프라노와 8개의 악기를 5명이 연주하는 실내악곡이다. 이 작품은 3部로 나누어지는데, 各部는 Albert Giraud 가 쓴 7개의 詩들로 이루어져 있다. 주된 주제적 요소들은 기악에 의해 소개되고 있는 한편, Schoenberg는, 노래하는 것이기 보다는 낭송하는 듯한 "Sprechstimme"라는 특별한 창법을 채택해 쓰고 있다. 이 作品은 제1차세계대전 무렵에 쓰여진 것으로, 이때는 경제적 불황으로 인하여 모든 면에서 경제化가 요구되던 시대였기 때문에 Schoenberg는 이 作品에서 5명의 연주자가 8개의 악기를 연주하도록 하였다. 〈Pierrot Lunaire〉는 미술에서 영향을 받은 표현주의 사상의 대표적인 작품이다.;Arnold Schoenberg, one of the most important figures in the history of Music, was as well the founder and leader of the second Viennese school, so labeled after the first Viennese school of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. Through his creative work from the end of the 19th century to the middle of the. 20th centry, Schoenberg revealed to the world the new spirit and beauty of atonality and systemized his compositional technique of dodecaphony, thus establishing a new direction and predict- ing new trends in the music of the 20th century. Schoenberg's works can be classified into three basic periods: 1st Period - "Post-romanticism" and coherence to the Wagner tradition 2nd Period - Period of "atonality" or ''emancipation of dissonance" 3rd Period - Dodecaphony and tonal music. The melodrama "Pierrot Lunaire" falls directly at the end of the second period. and eight instruments This is a chamber work for solo soprano performed by five players. The work is divided into three sections, each consisting of Seven poems by Albert Giraud. While the main thematic elements are introduced by the instruments Schoenberg adopted a special vocalization called "Sprechstimme" which is more a reciting voice than a singing one. Schoenberg composed the work around the time of the first world was when economic depression demanded economization in every direction, therefore the work is written so that five players can play eight instruments.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
