Automatización de informes mensuales para clientes en el área de servicios de Philips mediante Power Bi
Este proyecto, presentado como opción de grado en Ingeniería Biomédica, tiene como objetivo automatizar la generación y visualización de informes mensuales para los clientes del área de Customer Service en Philips Colombiana, utilizando Power BI. El proceso anterior era manual y propenso a errores, consumía mucho tiempo y dificultaba la personalización de la información.
La solución propuesta centraliza y automatiza los datos provenientes de macros en Excel, integrándolos en un modelo de datos dentro de Power BI. Esto permite crear dashboards interactivos con indicadores clave de rendimiento (KPIs), cronogramas de mantenimiento, resumen financiero y filtros personalizables por cliente, sede, fecha y tipo de equipo.This project, presented as a graduation requirement for the Biomedical Engineering program, aims to automate the generation and visualization of monthly reports for clients in the Customer Service area at Philips Colombia using Power BI. The previous reporting process was manual, time-consuming, error-prone, and lacked flexibility for customization.
The proposed solution centralizes and automates data originally processed via Excel macros, integrating them into a structured Power BI data model. This enables the creation of interactive dashboards displaying key performance indicators (KPIs), maintenance schedules, financial summaries, and customizable filters by client, site, date, and equipment type.TABLA DE CONTENIDO 1. Seeing Blood and Water: A Narrative-critical Study of John 19:34
Degree awarded: Ph.D. Biblical Studies. The Catholic University of AmericaOne of the most significant details of the Fourth Gospel is its unique version of the crucifixion (19:12-42). A full understanding of the central section of this scene, the depiction of Jesus' death and the details that immediately surround this event (19:31-37), is dependent on the interpretation of the vital verse that recounts the piercing of his side and the flow of blood and water (19:34). The problem, however, is that, though John 19:34 has been incorporated into many literary works throughout the history of Christianity, there has never been a thorough literary analysis dedicated solely to this key verse. The present study solves this problem by providing the first comprehensive narrative-critical study of John 19:34. The study begins with an introduction to the history of interpretation of John 19:34, the problem this verse poses for research, and the purpose and methodology of the present study. It then discusses the manuscript tradition of the pericope John 19:31-37, provides an analysis of its literary structure, and an English translation. Next, it investigates the symbolic significance of the images of blood and water in the Gospel's cultural milieu. It demonstrates that blood was associated with life and the purification from sin and that water was associated with life and the purification from uncleanness. The study then examines the use of the words "blood" and "water" in the Gospel preceding 19:34 and demonstrates that these words are used in accord with their symbolic significance from the surrounding culture. Finally, the study provides an analysis of 19:34 in its immediate literary context (19:31-37). It demonstrates that the explicit quotation of Zech 12:10 in John 19:37 was intended to show that the flow of blood and water in 19:34 was the fulfillment of two images in the immediate context of Zech 12:10, i.e. 13:1 and 14:8. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
The Post-Enlargement Migration Experience in the Baltic Labor Markets
We use Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian LFS data (2002-2007) complemented with several other surveys to compare the profile of Baltic temporary workers abroad before and after EU accession with that of stayers and return migrants. Determinants of migration and return, as well as selection issues are discussed. Post-enlargement migrants from all three countries were significantly less educated than stayers. After accession, medium-educated workers were most likely to move, other things equal, and human capital became increasingly less pro-migration over time. Return migrants differ from all movers in many ways and, in particular, are more educated. Although brain drain was not a feature of post-accession Baltic migration, brain waste was: during 2006-2007, the proportion of overqualified among high-educated movers ranged from five out of ten for Latvia to seven out of ten for Lithuania, but it was around one fifth among high-educated stayers in all three countries. We find that the free movement of labor partially introduced in 2004 (and expanded in 2006) for EU citizens, although excluding Baltic non-citizens, brought about significant changes in how ethnicity and citizenship affect workers' mobility. Design and discrete event simulation of power and free handling systems
Effective manufacturing systems design and implementation has become increasingly critical, with the reduction in manufacturing product lead times, and the subsequent influence on engineering projects. Tools and methodologies that can assist the design team must be both manageable and efficient to be successful. Modelling, using analytical and mathematical models, or using computer assisted simulations, are used to accomplish design objectives. This thesis will review the use of analytical and discrete event computer simulation models, applied to the design of automated power and free handling systems, using actual case studies to create and support a practical approach to design and implementation of these types of systems. The IDEF process mapping approach is used to encompass these design tools and system requirements, to recommend a generic process methodology for power and free systems design. The case studies consisted of three actual installations within the Philips Components Ltd facility in Durham, a manufacturer of television tubes. Power and free conveyor systems at PCL have assumed increased functions from the standard conveyor systems, ranging from stock handling and buffering, to type sorting and flexible product routing. In order to meet the demands of this flexible manufacturing strategy, designing a system that can meet the production objectives is critical. Design process activities and engineering considerations for the three projects were reviewed and evaluated, to capture the generic methodologies necessary for future design success. Further, the studies were intended to identify both general and specific criteria for simulating power and free conveyor handling systems, and the ingredients necessary for successful discrete event simulation. The automated handling systems were used to prove certain aspects of building, using and analysing simulation models, in relation to their anticipated benefits, including an evaluation of the factors necessary to ensure their realisation. While there exists a multitude of designs for power and free conveyor systems based on user requirements and proprietary equipment technology, the principles of designing and implementing a system can remain generic. Although specific technology can influence detailed design, a common, consistent approach to design activities was a proven requirement In all cases. Additionally, it was observed that no one design tool was sufficient to ensure maximum system success. A combination of both analytical and simulation methods was necessary to adequately optimise the systems studied, given unique and varying project constraints. It followed that the level of application of the two approaches was directly dependent on the initial engineering project objectives, and the ability to accurately identify system requirements
John 17:6-19: exegesis case study

After a brief survey of the scholarly consensus regarding the levels of composition and the cultural and religious milieu of the Fourth Gospel, the study analyses the structure of this uniquely Johannine prayer of Jesus. Interpreting Jn 17:6-19 as an exposition of 17:1-5 (recapitulated in 17:22-26), the author concludes: according to John, the unity of the church belongs to the category of divine glory (17:22f.).
