Revised Version of the Conceptual Modeling and Design Language TROLL (Extended Abstract)
) Thorsten Hartmann z Jan Kusch y Gunter Saake y Peter Hartel z Abstract Conceptual modeling of complex information systems requires the use of a formal design approach covering both static and dynamic aspects of the system and the modeled Universe of Discourse. A language for conceptual modeling is regarded as a means to write contracts between customers and system designers. Thus on the one hand a certain degree of readability of specifications is necessary for the domain specialist and on the other hand formality is necessary to derive information for further design, implementation, and prototyping issues. In this extended abstract we present the modeling language Troll (the successor version of the language introduced in [JSHS91, JHSS91]) that provides a notation close to object oriented programming languages but also incorporates declarative features for high level design documents. Troll provides abstractions like classes (collections), specialization and roles (is-a), comp..
The structure of Franck's D minor symphony and its historical antecedents
Includes bibliographical references (p. 121-123).César Franck has often been regarded as the composer who most systematically applied the cyclic principle in composition. This study defines the various applications of this principle before describing specific instances in the works of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Berlioz, Schumann and Liszt, as the historical antecedents to Franck's Symphony in D minor (1888). After an investigation of the motivic derivation and inter-relationships of the cyclic themes in Franck's Symphony, the manner in which the cyclic principle is applied in this work is discussed. Finally the overall formal structure is considered and a detailed analysis of the symphony follows to show the manifold ways in which thematic material is utilised to create an organically unified work

Modification to the Hartel Route Radiofrequency Technique for the Treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia: A Technical Note
Friedrich Ferdinand "Fritz" Ha¨rtel, born in 1877 in Plauen, Eastern Germany, was a physician trained in Berlin and Munich who had a keen interest in pain management. He made significant contributions to the field of local anesthesia and its applications, such as the injection of alcohol into the Gasser ganglion for the management of the excruciating pain caused by trigeminal neuralgia or tic douloureux.1-3 In the year 1914, Dr. Fritz Hartel published his article titled "Management of Trigeminal Neuralgia with Intracranial Alcohol Injections"1 in the journal "Archives of Langenbeck’s Surgery." This 124-page publication outlines the technique for accessing the oval foramen, provides details on alcohol injection, discusses associated complications, offers indications for performing the procedure, and presents the obtained results. Additionally, Dr. Hartel provides a historical account of the existing treatment alternatives for trigeminal neuralgia at that time.1 This novel description allowed for the control of the terrible pain symptoms that his patients presented. This technique of channelizing the oval foramen has been used over the years to perform percutaneous thermorhizotomy of the trigeminal nerve.1-8 Since its original description, it uses 3 skin points that make up the base of an imaginary pyramid at the top of which should be the oval foramen. From these parameters, the puncture is made with a fluoroscopy-guided needle until it penetrates the Meckel cave and meets the Gasserian ganglion and the posterior root of the trigeminal nerve. This technique provides satisfactory outcomes, albeit with a potential risk of neurovascular injury, such as carotid artery lesion in the carotid foramen. Although this complication is rarely reported in the literature, if it were to occur, it could potentially have lethal consequences. It is because of the risk of serious complications that modifications to the technique have emerged with the use of new projections in fluoroscopy and even the use of neuronavigation. The author contends that there are modifications to be made regarding the selected parameters and the way the positioning of the foramen ovale at the base of the skull is analyzed. These modifications seek to limit the risks of vascular and nervous injury, as well as the exposure time to x-rays. This work aims to correlate these theoretical aspects with the visualization of these intraoperative parameters in a series of 30 patients treated with percutaneous radiofrequency thermorhizotomy for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia, and we present the

Sui rapporti fra il cosiddetto <i>Poema ultimum</i> (<i>CSEL</i> 30 Hartel) e il <i>Carmen ad senatorem</i> (<i>CSEL</i> 23 Peiper)
An in-depth metrical and stylistic study of the so called Poema ultimum (CSEL 30 Hartel) and of the Carmen ad senatorem (CSEL 23 Peiper) wants to prove, against recent researches, that the two poems, even though they share the same formal choices and postulate on the thematic area, a direct conctat, are no doubt the works of two different poets. Such a close link, might be explained by the fact that the author of the p. ult. is the same person as the senator, whom the other poem is addressed to.No disponible
