Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Karakteristik ulama pada kitab adab Al-‘Alim Wa Al-Muta’allim karya KH. Hasyim Asy'ari : Dalam tinjauan Syarah Hadis

Hasyim Asy’ari merupakan ulama yang memiliki banyak karya tulis di berbagai bidang khususnya di bidang hadis. salah satu kitab karangannya yang sangat fenomenal dalam kalangan santri yaitu kitab tentang etika seorang penuntut ilmu dan ahli ilmu (ulama) yakni kitab Ada>b Al-‘Ab Al-‘A<lim wa Al-Muta’allim.
Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kualitas hadis dan syarah KH. Hasyim Asy’ari terhadap karakteristik ulama yang tertuang di dalam kitab Ada>b Al-‘Ab Al-‘A<lim wa Al-Muta’allim. Sedangkan data sekundernya adalah kitab-kitab syarah, buku, dan jurnal yang berkaitan dengannya.
Penelitian ini menghasilkan dua temuan. Kedua temuan ini berdasarkan hadis-hadis dan penjelasan (syarah) pengarang kitab. Pertama, kualitas dari tiga belas hadis pilihan tentang karakteristik Ulama dalam kitab Ada>b Al-‘Ab Al-‘A<lim wa Al-Muta’alim berkaitan erat dengan syarah-syarah hadis para ulama klasik, sehingga menurut KH Hasyim Asy’ari karakteristik yang harus tersemat pada ulama itu ialah sebagai makhluk terbaik, unggul, menjaga diri dari fitnah, menyampaikan apa yang diketahui, memiliki retorika yang baik, selalu semangat dalam menimba ilmu, tidak pernah malu untuk bertanya jika tidak tahu, memiliki sikap terpuji seperti : tenang, wara, tawadhu, khusyu, zuhud dan sabar, dan yang terakhir tidak bersikap tercela.

كان عالما مؤلفا في كثير من المجالات العلمية. وخاصة في مجال علم الحديث ومن أشهر كتبه عند طلاب العلم كتاب فيه اداب للمتعلم والعالم وهو كتاب اداب العالم و المتعلم. العلماء هم الوارثون المحفظون على رسائل النبوية والرسولية حتى الان. فلذلك هناك حاجة إلى مزيد من البحث حول جودة الحديث و شرح المؤلف على خاصية العلماء في كتابه اداب العالم و المتعلم.
الغرض من هذه الدراسة هو تحديد جودة الحديث والشرح كياهي الحج هاشم أشعاري على خاصية العلماء الواردة في الكتاب الأداب العالم و المتعلم. وطريقة البحث التى استخدامها الباحث في هذا البحث هي طريقة التخريج و شرح الحديث فهما مناسبتان لاستكمال إنهاء البحث. ينتمي هذا البحث إلى نوع البحث النوعي بتقنيات كتابة التحليل الوصفي تقنية جمع البيانات المستخدمة هي من خلال البحث في المكتبات. والمصدر الرئيسي للبيانات الأولية هو الكتاب الأداب العالم و المتعلم للكياهي الحج هاشم أشعري والبيانات الثانوية و كتب التسجيلات المتعلقة بها.
ظهرت من هذه الدراسة نتيجتان, من ناحية الأحاديث و من ناهية شرح المؤلف. فالنتيجة الأولى : درجة الأحاديث الثلاثة عشر المختارة عن موصوفات العلماء في الكتاب. أن الصحيح منها سبعة أحاديث ، والحسن منها ثلاثة أحاديث ، والضعيف منها ثلاثة أحاديث. والثانية ،أن شرح صفات العلماء في الأحاديث النبوية الورادة في الكتاب وثيقة الصلة بشرح العلماء للحديث ،فرأى كياهي الحج هاشم أشعاري ، أن الخصائص التي لا بد أن تترسخ في نفس العالم هي الثقة بالنفس بأنه من أفضل الكائنات في العالم وانه متفوق, محامي ومحافط على نفسه من الفتن و مبلغ ما هو معلوم عنده مجيد في الخطاب و حريص على العلم و غير مخجول في السؤال فيما جهل عنه. وله الأخلاق المحمودة كا الهدوء والزهد والوراع والتواضع والخشوع والصبر .

KH. Hasyim Asy'ari is a scholar who has written many works in various fields, especially in the field of hadith One of the books he wrote that was phenomenal among students was the book on the ethics of a claimant of knowledge and experts of science (ulama), namely the book Ada>b Al-‘Ab Al-‘A<lim wa Al-Muta’alim book.
The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of hadith and syarah KH. Hasyim Asy'ari on the characteristics of scholars contained in the Ada>b Al-‘Ab Al-'A<lim wa Al-Muta'alim book. While the secondary data are syarah books, books, and journals related to it.
This study resulted in two findings. Both of these findings are based on the traditions and explanations (syarah) of the author of the book. First, the quality of the thirteen selected hadiths regarding the characteristics of scholars in the Ada>b Al-'Ab Al-'A<lim wa Al-Muta'alim is closely related to the hadiths of the scholars, so that according to KH Hasyim Asy'ari the characteristics embedded in the scholars is as the best creature, superior, guarding oneself from slander, conveying what is known, having good rhetoric, always enthusiastic in gaining knowledge, never ashamed to ask questions if you don't know, having a commendable attitude such as: calm, wara, humble, solemn, ascetic and patient, and the last one is not reprehensible
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Ulama dalam perspektif hadis: Kajian tematik atas hadis-hadis nabi dalam Kutub Al-Sittah
Get PDFUlama dalam Alquran surat Fathir ayat dua puluh delapan mengindikasikan bahwa mereka merupakan ahli dan paham pada bidang agama dan alam. Sedangkan dalam Kutub al-Sittah terdapat pada hadis yang mana isinya mengisyaratkan hanya pada agama saja. Dari kedua pernyataan tersebut ada perbedaan, sedangkan Alquran dan hadis semestinya selalu selaras satu sama lain. Maka perlu adanya pengetahuan tentang makna ulama menurut hadis dalam Kutub al-Sittah dan bagaimana karakteristik ulama menurut hadis dalam Kutub al-Sittah.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan kepada khalayak umum tentang makna dan karakteristik ulama dalam Kutub al-Sittah. Penelitian ini bertolak dari keyakinan bahwa hadis Nabi membicarakan banyak hal, termasuk masalah ulama. Namun, pada kenyataannya hadis bersifat fragmentatif dan tidak utuh dalam pembahasan satu tema. Sehingga diperlukan kajian secara tematik agar dapat dihasilkan konsep yang komprehensif mengenai persoalan tersebut.
Oleh karena itu, dalam penelitian ini akan digunakan metode hadis maud}ui atau tematik dan konten analisis dengan pendekatan linguistik karena dipandang relevan juga memudahkan para pembaca dalam memahaminya. Penelitian ini termasuk pada jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik penulisan laporan deskriptif-analisis. Teknik pengumpulan data yang ditempuh melalui library reseach. Dan sumber utama yang diambil dari Kutub al-Sittah sedangkan sumber kedua dari kitab syarah, buku, dan jurnal yang berkaitan dengannya.
Penelitian ini menghasilkan dua temuan. Kedua temuan itu berdasarkan hadis-hadis yang ditemukan dalam Kutub al-Sittah yang mana terdiri dari empat puluh dua hadis shahi>h, empat hadis hasan, dan tiga hadis d}aif. Dan dari hadis-hadis itu juga, pertama menghasilkan makna ulama dalam hadis yang mana ulama memiliki makna pewaris para Nabi yang memimpin umat Islam, menjaga, menguasai dan memahami ilmu agama sehingga menjadikan diri mereka sebagai makhluk mulia yang tak pernah lepas mengingat Allah. Tourist’s re-visit intention from perspective of value perception, destination image and satisfaction
Get PDFThis paper aims to identify the relationship between value perception, destination image and satisfaction in order to achieve tourists re-visit intention.
Data was collected from the respondents via survey questionnaires developed from related literature. The data collected was then analyzed using structural equation modeling via Smart PLS.
Research has found that value perception has a positive, significant impact on satisfaction and satisfaction also has a positive significant impact on re-visit intention. On the other hand, there is no impact between destination images and satisfaction.
The implications of these findings are further elaborated.peer-reviewe

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
