La plebitusa: movilización política de las emociones posplebiscito por la paz en Colombia
No full textThis article analyzes emotions in the understanding of politics. To that effect, it examines the sociopolitical context of the collective mobilization for peace that arose in 2016, after the “yes” vote lost by less than 1 % in the Peace Plebiscite held in order to ratify the Peace Agreement between the National Government and the farc-ep. I set forth and analyze a set of emotions expressed mainly in social media, which were crucial in driving the collective action of regular citizens, members of peaceful resistance movements such as the Camp for Peace, and incumbent politicians, aimed at saving the Agreement. The theoretical approaches I use for this discussion are those of dynamicist political anthropology, the anthropology of emotions, and the sociology of collective action.Este artigo analisa as emoções no entendimento da política. Investiga o contexto sociopolítico da mobilização coletiva a favor da paz que se originou no ano de 2016, depois da rejeição do Plebiscito pela Paz que referendaria os Acordos de Paz pactuados entre o Governo Nacional e as farc-ep, e quefracassou por menos de 1 % de diferença de votos. Aqui vou expor e analisar um conjunto de emoções que circularam principalmente nas redes sociais e que foram centrais para impulsionar a ação coletiva que apoiou o resgate dos Acordos juntamente com os cidadãos comuns, integrantes de movimentos de resistência pacífica como o Acampamento pela Paz, e com os políticos. Discuto esse processo a partir do enfoque teórico da antropologia política dinamista, da antropologia das emoções e da sociologia da ação coletiva.Este artículo analiza las emociones en el entendimiento de la política. Investiga el contexto sociopolítico de la movilización colectiva a favor de la paz que se originó en el año 2016, después del rechazo del Plebiscito por la Paz que refrendaría los Acuerdos de Paz concertados entre el Gobierno Nacional y las farc-ep, y que fracasó por menos del 1 % de diferencia de votos. Aquí expondré y analizaré un conjunto de emociones que circularon principalmente en las redes sociales y que fueron claves para impulsar la acción colectiva que apoyó el rescate de los Acuerdos de la mano de ciudadanos del común, integrantes de movimientos de resistencia pacífica como el Campamento por la Paz y de políticos de turno. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Hacia la construcción de pedagogías y memorias plurales: explorando aprendizajes en una zona veredal de transición y normalización (Guaviare, Colombia)
Get PDFThis article presents original ethnographic and pedagogical material that contributes —and questions— the official view of pedagogy for peace, an important dimension of the Peace Agreements in Colombia. Through a series of pedagogical workshops conducted in a transitional and normalization zone (ZVTN) in Guaviare with a group of 285 ex-combatants of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in transit to civilian life, local learning experiences were identified. These experiences reveal a repertoire of knowledge acquired during their permanence in the guerrillas and in FARC´s civil transition after signing the peace agreements. Based on the analysis of the working booklets filled in with this group of ex combatants, I argue that it is urgent to broaden the consideration of a pedagogy for peace through the inclusion of a pedagogy from peace.Este artículo presenta un material etnográfico y pedagógico inédito que contribuye —e interpela— a la mirada oficial sobre la pedagogía para la paz, uno de los ejes de los acuerdos de paz en Colombia. Mediante talleres pedagógicos realizados en una zona veredal de transición y normalización (ZVTN) en el Guaviare, con un grupo de 285 excombatientes de las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) en tránsito hacia la vida civil, se identificaron experiencias locales de aprendizaje que muestran un repertorio de conocimientos adquiridos durante la trayectoria en la guerrilla y en la transición posterior a la firma de los acuerdos. Con base en el análisis de las cartillas trabajadas con el grupo de excombatientes, argumento que urge ampliar la consideración de una pedagogía para la paz incluyendo la inclusión de una pedagogía desde la paz
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
