Desertificação da terra roxa
The change in the structure of the terra roxa soil, in the Ribeirão Preto region, has been gradually caused over the last century by extensive agriculture, especially sugarcane monoculture. The visual essay features works by two artists from the interior of São Paulo, with overlaps and parallels between photographs by Bruna Caroline Pereira and paintings and installations by Lu Martins, in which the red of the land in the process of desertification is contrasted with the painting in collapse. Cultivating intersectional equality policies and practices in R&I
This Second Working Paper of the INSPIRE Knowledge and Support Hub (KSH) 3 on Intersectionality is structured into three main sections. The first section introduces the topic of intersectional equality policies and practices. It reflects on the existing scientific literature on intersectional policies in Higher Education and Research (HE&R) organizations to argue for a more explicitly strategic-political approach to intersectionality in organizational policy-making, and proposes guiding principles for its adoption. This section is based on a presentation given by Patrizia Zanoni on 27 September 2024 at the second Knowledge Exchange Event (KKE) of the INSPIRE project in Vienna, Austria. The second section presents the outcomes of the knowledge exchange among the KKE participants. This included two breakout room sessionsthat focused on how intersectional equality practices and policies can be cultivated. As these outcomes are based on the shared knowledge and expertise of the participants, we recognize their contributions by including the names and the respective institutions of those accepted to be acknowledged. These sessions were developed and facilitated by Lorena Pajares Sánchez (Notus) and Joanna Beeckmans (University of Hasselt). The third section presents the reflections of KSH3 experts Ashlee Christoffersen (York University), Barbara De Micheli (Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini), Bruna Jaquetto Pereira (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) and Irina Lungu (Technical University of Iasi). Moreover, CoP representatives have provided feedback and added their reflections, based on their work within their respective CoPs. The final version of this Second Working Paper benefited from feedback provided by representatives from each CoP, as well as their reflections based on their CoP work conducted within INSPIRE so far.European Centre of Excellence on Inclusive Gender Equality in Research & Innovation: Creating Knowledge & Engaging in Collaborative Action.
In the novels of the detective Bruna Husky, Rosa Montero uses a degraded urban landscape, inspired by the well-known film Blade Runner. The coexistence of current and futuristic elements allows the author to project the concerns of her present into a dystopian Madrid, starting from the use of elements of both hard-boiled and science fiction

Novel immunotherapeutic approaches in targeting dendritic cells with virus vectors
Viruses have evolved efficient strategies to overcome cellular membranes and transfer nucleic acid into a host cell. This property is being exploited in gene therapy which has the goal of delivering therapeutic genes into a patient tissue in order to achieve a clinically relevant effect. An interesting target for virus-mediated gene transfer is the immune system. In fact, the first human gene therapy trial performed involved the implantation of autologous bone marrow cells transduced ex vivo with gamma retrovirus vectors expressing adenosine deaminase in a patient with severe combined immunodeficiency. More recently, targeting transgene expression to dendritic cells (DCs) has become a promising strategy for directing the immune system towards immunity or tolerance. DC targeting has been achieved on a transcriptional level by using DC-specific promoters or by retargeting the tropism of the virus vectors. For example, we and others have developed strategies that support antigen-specific immune tolerance by transducing hematopoietic stem cells with lentivirus- or gamma retrovirus- vectors that transcriptionally target antigen expression to DCs. This review discusses the state of the art of vector-targeting to DCs in preclinical as well as clinical trials

Institutional Scholarship Initiative Program - PIBID: Perceptions of management teams on the challenges of coforming
This research has as central theme the formative role played by the school teams in the Institutional Program of Initiation to Teaching (PIBID). This qualitative research was based on semi-structured interviews with supervisor teachers, principals and supervisors, with a view to capturing and analyzing how school teams perceive and take on the challenge of participating in the training process of future teachers, in PIBID. The main authors that guided the research were: Paulo Freire (2007) - Teacher education and teaching practice; Zeichner (2010) - Relationship theory and practice; Nóvoa (2009) - University and School Relations; Canário (1999) - crisis of legitimacy of schools from Programs and reforms. The research was developed in three public elementary schools in the city of Santos-SP and was analyzed from three categories: The relevance of the stage permeated by the subcategory that differentiates stage and PIBID from the speeches of the subjects; the relation theory and practice that pervades as subcategory the relationship of the school team with the subproject of the Program; and ongoing training, which is one of the guiding principles of PIBID. As a result, it was possible to point out that the school team does not satisfactorily acknowledge their responsibility for the training of the scholarship students, needing to take a more critical look at the role of the school in the licenciando formation.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPE
