Alkali metal derivatives of sulfinimidamides. Preparation and crystal structures

    No full text
A series of compounds has been prepared in which the NH proton of the sulfiniminamines Me3SiN=S(R)---NHR′ (R = Ph (mainly) or tBu, R′ = tBu or SiMe3) is replaced by Li, Na, K, Rb, or Cs. The compounds form a series of reagents of increasing reactivity which could be used, for example, to introduce chelating ligands into transition metal complexes. The structures of the compounds have been determined by X-ray diffraction. When there is a phenyl substituent on the sulfur atom, the metal derivatives are isomorphic dimers, involving three fused four-membered rings in a step-shaped structure. The higher the atomic number of the metal, the stronger is the η-coordination of the phenyl group to the metal. With a t-butyl group on the sulfur atom the structures of the lithium derivatives [(Me3SiN=S(tBu)---NR′)Li]2 are different for R′ = SiMe3 and tBu. For the former the step-shaped structure is still present, but the latter forms an eight-membered ring. Although these tBu derivatives are synthesized in diethyl ether, their lithium atoms are not coordinated by donor molecules, in contrast to those in the phenyl-substituted species

Kniha Michala Pullmana Konec experimentu. Přestavba a pád komunismu v Československu (Praha 2011, Scriptorium, 244 s., ISBN 978-80-87271-31-5), vyvolala v letech 2011–2012 především na stránkách denního tisku a kulturně orientovaných týdeníků velký mediální ohlas. Z tohoto důvodu redakce oslovila několik historiků a antropologů ve snaze vyvolat širší diskusi o dějinách normalizace a tzv. přestavby socialismu v Československu 70. a 80. let. Výsledkem je diskusní blok, do něhož přispěli Jan Pauer, Filip Pospíšil, Petr Cajthaml a Pavel Mücke.Michal Pullmann’s book Konec experimentu. Přestavba a pád komunismu v Československu (The end of an Experiment. The Reconstruction and Fall of Communism in Czechoslovakia, Prague 2011, Scriptorium, 244p, ISBN978-80-87271-31-5), met in 2011—2012 a high level of media response especially on pages of the daily press and cultural weeklies. For this reason, the editors addressed several historians and anthropologists in an attempt to inspire a broader discussion on the history of normalisation and so-called ‘reconstruction’ of socialism in Czechoslovakia of 1970s and 1980s. This resulted in a discussion blog to which contributed Jan Pauer, Filip Pospíšil, Petr Cajthaml, and Pavel Mücke

Title: Forward and Inverse Modeling of Planetary Gravity and Topography Author: Martin Pauer Department/Institute: Department of Geophysics MFF UK Supervisor of the doctoral thesis: Doc. RNDr. Ondřej Čadek, CSc., Department of Geophysics MFF UK Abstract: The aim of this work was to investigate various mechanisms compensating the observed planetary topography - crustal isostasy, elastic support and dynamic support caused by mantle flow. The investigated models were applied to three different planetary problems. Firstly we applied dynamic compensation model to explain today large-scale gravity and topography fields of Venus and investigate its mantle viscosity structure. The results seem to support not only models with constant viscosity structure but also a model with a stiff lithosphere and a gradual increase of viscosity toward a core. In the second paper several crust compensation models were employed to estimate the density of the Martian southern highlands crust. Since the used methods depends differently on crustal density changes, we were able to provide some constraints on the maximum density of the studied region. In the third application, the strength of a possible ocean floor gravity signal of Jupiter's moon Europa was studied. It turned out that if the long wavelength topography reaches height at...Název práce: Přímé a inverzní modelování topografie a gravitačního pole planet Autor: Martin Pauer Katedra/ Ústav: Katedra geofyziky MFF UK Vedoucí doktorské práce: Doc. RNDr. Ondřej Čadek, CSc., Katedra geofyziky MFF UK Abstrakt: Cílem této práce bylo prozkoumat různé mechanismy kompenzace pozorované planetární topografie - izostázi v kůře, elastickou podporu v litosféře a dynamickou pod- poru působenou tečením v plášti. Tyto zkoumané modely byly následně použity na tři různé planetární problémy. Nejprve jsme aplikovali model dynamické podpory k vysvětlení velkoškálových gravitačních a topografických útvarů na Venuši a zjistili možná rozložení viskozity v jejím plášti. Ve třetí práci jsme studovali intenzitu...Katedra geofyzikyDepartment of GeophysicsFaculty of Mathematics and PhysicsMatematicko-fyzikální fakult

    (Perfluoralkyl)(dimethylamino)sulfonium-hexafluoroarsenate

MeN = S(CF3)2 (5) is alkylated by Me3O AsF6 to Me2N-S(CF3)2 AsF6 (4). From 5 and MeOp. AsF6 (6) MeOS(O)-N(Me)S(CF3)2 AsF6 (7) is formed as a relatively stable primary product. Decomposition of 7 gives the expected 4 only in poor yield. Nucleophilic substitution of the sulfur-bonded fluorine in CF3SF2 AsF6 (8) by Me3SiNMe2 yields CF3S(NMe2)2 AsF6 (9). Similarly, (CF3)2CFSF2 AsF6 (10) reacts with dimethyl(trimethylsilyl)amine to give (CF3)2CFS(NMe2)2 AsF6 (11). The structures of 4 and 9 are elucidated by X-ray analyses, and the influence of the substituents on the bonding is discussed

Diffusive author(s), cohesive author: Analysis of S/N (1994)

    No full text
This study indicates the ways in which various aspects of the author(s) are brought forth in Dumb type’s performance art, the S/N production. Previous research has suggested a non-hierarchical organization of Dumb type and the absence of a “privileged author” in Dumb type’s collaborative work, S/N. However, the results that I have investigated from member’s interviews on the creative process of S/N along with my analysis of the recorded images of S/N, indicate a different aspect of the author(s). First, S/N was created through, so to speak, the collective ideas of the members of Dumb type. Further, S/N has at least nine quotations from previous performances, installations, and printed writings, besides the work-in-progress technique. Explicating one of the “author functions” as given by Michel Foucault, each text has plural subjects of the author. However, it has been revealed from members’ interviews that Teiji Furuhashi had a decision-making role in selecting the members’ ideas within the performance. Since then, S/N has had plural subjects of creation; however, Furuhashi is one of the subjects of creation along with the “privileged author.” S/N has plural authors (diffusive authors) yet at the same time, it has a “privileged author,” Teiji Furuhashi (cohesive author)

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
