    Introducción. J.V. Foix, Gertrduis. KRTU

    No full text
This bilingual edition of J. V. Foix's first two books, Gertrudis (1927) and KRTU (1932), translated by Antonio Jiménez Millán, includes a presentation and critical reading of the texts by Enric Bou. By vindicating the originality of this writer, who described himself as a "researcher in poetry", justice is done to two fundamental texts of the Iberian and European avant-garde, which, published in editions of only a hundred copies, had a very limited diffusion. They are books of surrealist prose poetry that illustrate an aspect of the author's characteristic duplicity. J. V. Foix was the pseudonym used by Josep Vicenç Foix i Mas (1893-1987), one of the most singular writers of 20th century Catalan literature. Author of a highly experimental poetry, he achieved a subtle, conceptual and formal combination of ancient and modern values, confirmed in the final verse of one of his sonnets: "m'exalta el nou i m'enamora el vell" ("I am exalted by the new and in love with the old")

L’interès d’Eliot i Foixper Guido Cavalcanti és remarcable, i tal vegada remet a Rémy de Gourmont. This article argues that J.V. Foix was the author of the Catalan translations, pu -blished anonymously in 1927, of two essays by T.S. Eliot as well as the third section of Eliot’sThe Waste Land. The sources of these translations are Eliot’s «Note sur Mallarmé et Poe» (1926)and, in Jean de Menasce’s rendering, «Deux attitudes mystiques: Dante et Donne» (1927) and LaTerre mise à nu(1926). Eliot and Foix’s common interest in Guido Cavalcanti is worthy of note, and is perhaps rooted in Rémy de Gourmont

Ramon Llull is the quintessential classic writer of Catalan literature. This article discusses several texts by Ors and Foix in which they express innovative opinions on Llull’s work from a non-specialist perspective but from devoted readers. These are forms of dialogue with a classic author, the great classic. Eugeni d'Ors and J.V. Foix, in very different ways and at different times, defended the need for a total reading of Ramon Llull’s work, not the adoption of partial readings of Llull’s work but a reading that would address Llull’s work as a whole

Impact of Innovations in Value Chain on Sorghum Farmers

The paper has studied the implementation of millets value chain pilot project under the NAIP to create demand for sorghum through diversification in farm production, procurement, ultimately aiming at economical benefits to both farmers and other stakeholders. This 4.5 years novel initiative is still in the mid-way. The study has reported that technological backstopping of sorghum cultivation with end-product specific improved cultivars has realized 51 per cent rise in incremental net income of Rs 16098/ha for the participating farmers (58 per cent rise in kharif and 44 per cent in rabi farmers). The inconvenience in the preparation of sorghum foods which has been the important reason for the decrease in its consumption, has been eliminated through development of convenient and ready-to-eat/cook foods. The factorization of the investment expenditure made per farmer (one acre of sorghum per participating farmer) has been worked out to be Rs 356 (equivalent of Rs 890/ha) in a season resulting in 51 per cent rise in incremental net income over baseline which is slightly higher in kharif sorghum than in rabi sorghum. The output pricing in kharif has helped in attaining these benefits. However, the benefit-cost ratio has worked out in favour of rabi sorghum farmers, i.e. 1:7.5 vis-à-vis kharif farmers BC ratio of 1: 4.2. The study has observed that linking up of the entire stakeholders through value addition throughout the value chain system would renew and uplift the diminishing sorghum area and production and its ultimate economical benefits to farmers and other stakeholders in the value chain.Agricultural and Food Policy,

En aquest article es comenten diversos textos d’Ors i Foix que expressen una opinió renovadora, des d’una perspectiva no d’especialistes sinó de devots lectors, que són també autors de renom. Són formes de diàleg amb un autor clàssic, el gran clàssic. Eugeni d’Ors i J.V. Foix, per vies i en moments diferents, van defensar la necessitat d’una lectura total de Ramon Llull, no l’adopció d’un Llull per a poetes, per a lingüistes, per a creients, per a pedagogs, etc., sinó un d’unitari.Ramon Llull is the quintessential classic writer of Catalan literature. Decentralized Private Freight Declaration & Tracking with Data Validation

In January 2017, a truck crossed the border between Spain and France for the first time using an e-CMR: An electronic version of the primary transport document required for inter-European logistics. Since that crossing, researchers and logistic organizations have proposed a large number of ideas to further digitize Europe’s supply chain. Many of these ideas involve blockchains, but not all of them validate the data that is posted to them. As a result, participants can make illegitimate claims: Even though the blockchain enables transparency and immutability of the data stores, it does not ensure veracity. We provide several examples of works about information sharing in the supply chain that do not perform such validation. One work that does use the blockchain’s validation functionality is DEFEND. DEFEND addresses customs agencies’ lack of information for international freight inspection by tracking shipping containers throughout their journey. As containers pass from one operator to another, the blockchain participants ensure that containers are not doubly spent. In this work, we propose an extension of DEFEND, in which we further extend the capabilities for validation. Moreover, we provide actual cryptographic protocols to preserve participants’ privacy while DEFEND only described privacy on a high level. Finally, by making a more fine-grained distinction between different actors in the chain, we model the entire supply chain from buyer to seller. As a result, the buyer and seller can now track the respective package’s whereabouts through each leg of its journey.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Cyber Securit

Efficient Circuits for Permuting and Mapping Packed Values Across Leveled Homomorphic Ciphertexts

    No full text
Cloud services are an essential part of our digital infrastructure as organizations outsource large amounts of data storage and computations. While organizations typically keep sensitive data in encrypted form at rest, they decrypt it when performing computations, leaving the cloud provider free to observe the data. Unfortunately, access to raw data creates privacy risks. To alleviate these risks, researchers have developed secure outsourced data processing techniques. Such techniques enable cloud services that keep sensitive data encrypted, even during computations. For this purpose, fully homomorphic encryption is particularly promising, but operations on ciphertexts are computationally demanding. Therefore, modern fully homomorphic cryptosystems use packing techniques to store and process multiple values within a single ciphertext. However, a problem arises when packed data in one ciphertext does not align with another. For this reason, we propose a method to construct circuits that perform arbitrary permutations and mappings of such packed values. Unlike existing work, our method supports moving values across multiple ciphertexts, considering that the values in real-world scenarios cannot all be packed within a single ciphertext. We compare our open-source implementation against the state-of-the-art method implemented in HElib, which we adjusted to work with multiple ciphertexts. When data is spread among five or more ciphertexts, our method outperforms the existing method by more than an order of magnitude. Even when we only consider a permutation within a single ciphertext, our method still outperforms the state-of-the-art works implemented by HElib for circuits of similar depth.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Cyber Securit
