Malliavin calculus for highly degenerate 2D stochastic Navier-Stokes equations
No full textThis Note mainly presents the results from "Malliavin calculus and the randomly forced Navier-Stokes equation" by J.C. Mattingly and E. Pardoux. It also contains a result from ''Ergodicity of the degenerate stochastic 2D Navier-Stokes equation'' by M. Hairer and J.C. Mattingly. We study the Navier-Stokes equation on the two-dimensional torus when forced by a finite dimensional Gaussian white noise. We give conditions under which the law of the solution at any time iota > 0, projected on a finite dimensional subspace, has a smooth density with respect to Lebesgue measure. In particular. our results hold for specific choices of four dimensional Gaussian white noise. Under additional assumptions. we Show that the preceding density is everywhere strictly positive. This Note's results are a critical component in the ergodic results discussed in a future article.PROPD

Programa de Pós-graduação em FilosofiaDesde seus primeiros escritos Nietzsche se ocupou de questões relacionadas ao conhecimento e à verdade, ocorre, porém, que seu objetivo não é formular uma nova teoria do conhecimento ou reformular as concepções tradicionais, mas questionar a valor da verdade, indicando que os filósofos jamais a colocaram em questão. Em conseqüência dessa superestimação da verdade está o ódio instintivo contra a vida e seus pressupostos: tudo o que é transitório e efêmero foi negado em nome do conhecimento racional e objetivo. A proposta de Nietzsche é que a interpretação metafísica - que nega e falsifica a vida- seja substituída por uma interpretação afirmativa, com conceitos leves e dançantes, que se reconhece como interpretação provisória. O eterno retorno diz à vida o grande Sim, aceita o destino e deseja o seu retornar eterno. É um sim dionisíaco, que deseja o que a vida tem mais exuberante e belo, mas também o que ela tem de mais horrível e miserável

Knowledge sharing on Q&A fora: challenges of automated interaction analysis
No full textQ\&A fora have developed into a precious tool for online knowledge exchange. Being community-driven, openly accessible and free, getting an answer to a complicated question can nowadays be a matter of minutes. This research investigates the specific case of gis.stackexchange, a technical Q&A forum used by Geographic Information Systems professionals. A central topic is the interaction between users. Based on existing research, an automated approach is elaborated and a big data analysis is performed. Also, a link between the outcomes and self-reflective behaviour found on the community meta forum is established. Factors positively influencing interaction as defined by the approach are identified (implication of the author(s), presence of images and code snippets). Furthermore, weaknesses such as the low share of interactions associated to an alteration (of the original post) are also discussed. These outcomes eventually lead to a series of recommendations for the forum itself and related formats.Applied Sciences | Science Communicatio

No full textIn this paper we present a novel system for user-driven integration of name variants when interacting with web-based information systems. The growth and diversity of online information means that many users experience disambiguation and collocation errors in their information searching. We approach these issues via a client-side JavaScript browser extension that can reorganise web content and also integrate remote data sources. The system is illustrated through three worked examples using existing digital libraries
