Badanie właściwości termoluminescencyjnych polikrystalicznej struktury diamentowej wytworzonej metodą CVD w IFJ PAN

Średnia grubość utworzonej warstwy wynosi 118.9 μm. W celu zbadania właściwości termoluminescencyjnych naświetlono strukturę dawkami z zakresu 0.25 - 60 Gy, stosując aparat Theratron 780E ze źródłem Co-60. Sygnał TL mierzono planarnym czytnikiem detektorów termoluminescencyjnych. Próbka charakteryzuje się rozrzutem czułości na poziomie 280%. W widmie termoluminescencyjnym zaobserwowano 2 wyraźne piki w temperaturze 96ºC, 220ºC. W przedziałach dawek 0.25 – 2 Gy oraz 20 – 60 Gy stwierdzono liniową zależność od dawki, po anilacji próbki w temperaturze 400ºC czułość zmniejszyła się

Overview of the author identification task at PAN 2014
Full text linkThe author identification task at PAN-2014 focuses on author verification. Similar to PAN-2013 we are given a set of documents by the same author along with exactly one document of questioned authorship, and the task is to determine whether the known and the questioned documents are by the same author or not. In comparison to PAN-2013, a significantly larger corpus was built comprising hundreds of documents in four natural languages (Dutch, English, Greek, and Spanish) and four genres (essays, reviews, novels, opinion articles). In addition, more suitable performance measures are used focusing on the accuracy and the confidence of the predictions as well as the ability of the submitted methods to leave some problems unanswered in case there is great uncertainty. To this end, we adopt the c@1 measure, originally proposed for the question answering task. We received 13 software submissions that were evaluated in the TIRA framework. Analytical evaluation results are presented where one language-independent approach serves as a challenging baseline. Moreover, we continue the successful practice of the PAN labs to examine meta-models based on the combination of all submitted systems. Last but not least, we provide statistical significance tests to demonstrate the important differences between the submitted approaches

No full textThe article explores the problem of form in critical theory. The author argues that the focus on form of theories characteristic for Frankfurt School thinkers required a complementary step, that of rethinking the form of critique itself. Drawing on Walter Benjamin’s theory of constellations, the author examines how the presentation of philosophical content shapes its meaning. This foundational model informs both Benjamin’s further developments and Theodor W. Adorno’s writings. Key works such as The Arcades Project, Minima Moralia, and Essay as Form are analysed for their philosophical forms – quotation, aphorism, and essay. The article argues that these forms reflect critical theory’s response to historical conditions and concludes by addressing their relevance to contemporary academic publishing.Artykuł poświęcony jest problematyce formy podejmowanej przez teorię krytyczną. Autor twierdzi, że specyficzna dla myślicieli związanych ze szkołą frankfurcką krytyka teorii ze względu na formę wymagała kroku komplementarnego, czyli przemyślenia samej formy teorii krytycznej. Za punkt wyjścia autor obiera teorię konstelacji Benjamina, która pozwala zwrócić uwagę na formę prezencji filozoficznej treści. Model ten służy zdaniem autora za punkt wyjścia zarówno dla dalszej teorii Benjamina, jak i pism Adorna. W artykule przeanalizowane zostają takie dzieła, jak Pasaże, Minima moralia i Esej jako forma oraz teoretyzowane w nich formy filozoficznego pisania: cytat, aforyzm i esej. Różne formy, które przybierała teoria krytyczna, miały zdaniem autora służyć próbom zmierzenia się filozofii z danym momentem historycznym. Pod koniec artykułu próbuje on zastosować opisane zagadnienia do współczesnej problematyki publikacji akademickich

Du Bois summons the restless and provocative spirit of a Pan Africanism that, despite its association with the collapse of Kwamah Nkumah’s Ghanaian revolution, has not failed as an idea. Commentators have realised, to some extent, the ambiguities of Du Bois’ Pan Africanism. However, they have not shown how Du Bois’ deployment of the concept opens up a more radical political thinking. This Essay will trace the various twists and turns of Du Bois’ Pan Africanism as narrated in the text Dusk of Dawn. Pan Africanism demands a social, economic, and political revolution that goes beyond the civil liberties struggle and its focus on constitutional recognition. In leaving America for Ghana, Du Bois committed himself to a very specific understanding of the African revolution. Using the ideas of Etienne Balibar and Jacques Rancière, this Essay will argue that Du Bois’ Pan Africanism evoked energies of revolution that point at an unfinished, rather than failed, radical project

Wspomnienie lektury pierwszych dwóch wierszy: Pan Cogito rozważa różnicę między głosem ludzkim a głosem przyrody oraz Sekwoja. Próba zmierzenia się z całością bytu i dziejów dostarcza klucza do zrozumienia metafizycznych i etycznych wątków poetyckiego dzieła Herberta. W dialogu z poetycką personą Pana Cogito rodzi się poetycka persona Pana Credo, obecna w wierszach Alfreda Marka Wierzbickiego. Nie ma w nich polemiki, jest to raczej spotkanie i towarzyszenie sobie dwóch doświadczeń duchowych.
The article deals with the adventures of a reader and a poet involving Pan Cogito, a volume of poems by Zbigniew Herbert, and recalls reading the first two poems: Pan Cogito rozważa różnicę między głosem ludzkim a głosem przyrody and Sekwoja. An attempt at tackling the entirety of being and history provides a key to understanding the metaphysical and ethical motifs of Herbert’s poetic oeuvre. A dialogue with the poetic persona of Pan Cogito gives rise to the poetic persona of Pan Credo, present in poems by Alfred Marek Wierzbicki. The latter do not contain a polemic; this is rather an encounter and a mutual accompaniment of two spiritual experiences

No full textThe article aims to present selected issues related to conducting fieldwork in the extremely demanding environment of the street. The difficulties are compounded by the fact that street children are engaged in the research, with their active and participatory involvement in reconstructing knowledge about who a child is in Poland. The author presents selected own experiences from in-depth fieldwork carried out in the light of radical ethnography in urban studies and childhood studies, focusing on the highlighting of ethical and methodological dilemmas in research of this kind.Celem artykułu jest próba zaprezentowania wybranych problemów związanych realizacją badań terenowych w wyjątkowo wymagającym terenie, jakim jest ulica. Trudności komplikuje fakt zaangażowania w badania dzieci- tubylców ulicy i przy ich aktywnym, partycypacyjnym udziale w rekonstruowanie wiedzy o tym, kim jest dziecko (na) ulicy w Polsce. W tekście prezentuję doświadczenia własne z pogłębionych badań terenowych, realizowanych w świetle etnografii radykalnej w nurtach urban studies i childhood studies.
