Stability and oscillations of singularly perturbed phase synchronization systems with distributed parameters
Dichotomy and stability of disturbed systems with periodic nonlinearities
Systems that can be decomposed as feedback interconnections of stable linear blocks and periodic nonlinearities arise in many physical and engineering applications. The relevant models e.g. describe oscillations of a viscously damped pendulum, synchronization circuits (phase, frequency and delay locked loops) and networks of coupled power generators. A system with periodic nonlinearities usually has multiple equilibria (some of them being locally unstable). Many tools of classical stability and control theories fail to cope with such systems. One of the efficient methods, elaborated to deal with periodic nonlinearities, stems from the celebrated Popov method of 'integral indices', or integral quadratic constraints; this method leads, in particular, to frequency-domain criteria of the solutions' convergence, or, equivalently, global stability of the equilibria set. In this paper, we further develop Popov's method, addressing the problem of robustness of the convergence property against external disturbances that do not oscillate at infinity (allowing the system to have equilibria points). Will the forced solutions also converge to one of the equilibria points of the disturbed system? In this paper, a criterion for this type of robustness is offered.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Team Tamas Keviczk

A World-Famous Scholar (In Memory of Natalia Bazhanova)
Significance of the findings and scientific generalizations, which were made by the the leading Russian scientist of Korean Studies Natalia Bazhanova, goes far beyond the Korean issues. It is of great interest for both the expert community, and for a wide range of readers. Analysis of the political and economic development of the DPRK allowed Bazhanova highlight the characteristics of authoritarian regimes and non-market economy, and to see how they affect the foreign policy and international relations. Natalia Evgen'evna has made a great contribution to the development of historical science. She was the first who introduced into scientific use unique documents on the history of the Korean War of 1950-1953, allowing to understand the causes, course and consequences of the conflict. Bajanova proved itself as a political scientist, analyzing and forecasting the development of the international situation on the Korean Peninsula, making constructive proposals aimed at resolving the North Korean nuclear problem. The works of Bazhanova dedicated to Russian-Korean relations are very significant. Her conclusions on the current development of relations between our two countries are especially valuable, as well as on international multilateral cooperation in the matter of a Korean settlement. Natalia Evgen'evna was the author of monograph, publicistic books and papers devoted to the many countries of the world, including the United States, France, Italy, China. She put her exceptional talent to the study of these topics. The works of Bazhanova characterized by internal logic, depth and light, have “transparent” style of presentation
On the Sources for the “Life of Alexander of Svir”: The Chapter “About the Person Who Wrote the Life of the Saint”
The article analyzes the literary sources of the “Life of Alexander of Svir,” which was written by Hegumen Herodion of Svir. The discovery of new sources significantly expands the methodological possibilities of studying this literary monument. Knowing which text the medieval author reworked, we can reveal and describe those changes which were made by the author in the adaptation of the borrowed texts. In addition, knowing which circle of sources the author borrowed from, we can come to a conclusion concerning the result that the author sought. The study shows that the final chapter, with autobiographical information on the hagiographer’s life, was compiled on the basis of three sources: “The Life of Theodosius of Kiev,” “The Life of Nikon of Radonezh,” and the epilogue of scribe Athanasius to “Oko tserkovnoe.” The first of these sources was pointed out by I. Yakhontov (1881), but the borrowings from this source that are found in the final chapter of “The Life of Alexander of Svir” have still not been studied. The other two sources are revealed for the first time. Yakhontov concluded that Herodion used in his work the lives of Russian venerables and monastery founders, mainly the works of Pachomius the Serb. Now we have reason to believe that Alexander of Svir’s hagiographer was not ruled only by patriotic or genre considerations, and that he was not an imitator of Pachomius. As far as we can tell, the choice of the source was motivated by a specific literary purpose and by each separate episode, the description of which he created on the basis of the texts of his predecessors. (The examination of these motives, however, are beyond the scope of this article.) The texts of all of the sources known to date (especially those sources which were unchanged when they were included in the “Life” of the saint) can be used as a control element in the comparison of the copies of the literary monument and in the construction of a stemma codicum
The Life of Efrem Perekomsky: Issues on the Archetype of the Monument and Its Literary Sources
One of the crucial problems of studying the Life of Efrem Perekomsky is the establishment of its original text. The article compares two manuscripts of the Life containing descriptions of miracles and their literary sources. As a result of the analysis, it turns out that in a more complete and preserved form, borrowings from the Life of Alexander of Svir are read in the manuscript OIDR 45, and in the manuscript RGIA published by M.A. Fedotova they are either shortened or distorted. The manuscript OIDR 45 also contains borrowings from the “Serbian” miracle of Nicholas of Myra and an earlier miracle of Efrem Perekomsky, even though they are not in the manuscript RGIA. The article concludes that contrary to the prevalent opinion, the original text of Life as a whole is better preserved in the manuscript OIDR 45. It also considers the question of the time of the creation of the Life. Inconsistencies in the chronological readings of sources are proposed to be explained using the following assumptions: The Life was written by an unknown author in the 1670s (before 1687) and completed by another unknown author in the 1710s (between 1711 and 1718); an indication of the authorship of Abbot Roman, a disciple of Efrem, was introduced into the text at the time of its creation under the influence of a literary sample (the Life of Alexander of Svir); the authorship of the Life was attributed to a disciple of Efrem Roman to give the composition greater antiquity and greater authority
Regulation of the fast fashion industry in EU law
Výroba levného a snadno dostupného oblečení je spojena s nadměrnou spotřebou přírodních zdrojů, znečištěním vody a ovzduší, produkcí obrovského množství odpadu a závažnými sociálními problémy, včetně vykořisťování pracovníků a porušování lidských práv. The bachelor thesis deals with the phenomenon of fast fashion and its regulation in European Union law. Fast fashion represents a dynamically developing segment of the clothing industry, has a significant impact on consumer behaviour, the economy and the environment. The production of cheap and easily available clothing is associated with excessive consumption of natural resources, water and air pollution, the generation of huge amounts of waste and serious social problems, including the exploitation of workers and human rights violations. The paper analyses existing EU legislation on fast fashion, finding that current legislation focuses mainly on environmental aspects (e.g. the Ecodesign Regulation and the Waste Directive), while social impacts are often neglected. A comparative analysis of EU and US approaches reveals differences in the degree of centralisation and emphasis on sustainability. Based on a mixed research approach including literature search, case studies and regulatory analysis, a modification and supplementation of the existing EU regulation is proposed. A combination of hard law and soft law is also recommended. The thesis highlights the need for a comprehensive approach that reflects both the environmental and social aspects of this global phenomenon
