CORRUPTION AND DEFORESTATION IN INDONESIA
This paper evaluates the impact of corruption on deforestation in Indonesia. The world’s nature environment and global warming questions are one of the main factors of international concerns. Massive deforestation threatens Indonesian biodiversity. This research paper analyses issues of whether deforestation in Indonesia is caused by corruption and supported by crude palm oil production. This issue was questioned earlier by using Engel Granger cointegration test, three time series of data, specifically corruption perception index (CPI), rate of deforestation and price of crude palm oil that was inspected for a long-run relationship. Yet long-run relationship was not found. The author of this article shows that while answering this question, CPI values are not as important as the very nature of corruption in Indonesia. However, CPI is still extremely high in Indonesia as the nature of corruption is convenient for illegal logging. Thus, international response is needed so that to decrease the level of deforestation in Indonesia. With the new European Union Law that requires legal sourcing of wood products, Indonesia commits to enforce new rules in the Asia’s largest rainforest. For example, FLEGT licensing became operational on November 15, 2016. The European Union is strictly enforcing these rules what is a good step against deforestation in hand with illegal logging in Indonesia. In this way to analyse in detail the FLEGT programme and the EU activities, is beyond the scope of this paper. There stays questioned the Indonesian Presidents’ ban on new palm oil plantations and mining licence, because such approach can potentially increase corruption and unofficial economy at local levels. The author of this paper wants to fulfil the gap in understanding about the link between deforestation in Indonesia and corruption. The level of corruption in Indonesia is not the main issue, but the nature of corruption is the main problem.KEYWORDS: corruption, FLEGT licensing, deforestation, international relations.JEL CODES: D73, Q2, Q5,DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.15181/rfds.v25i2.174
The European Employment Strategy as Enhanced Coordination: A holistic approach to the EU social commitment
The article proposes a holistic approach to the European Employment Strategy, from a conceptual, structural and functional point of view, within the framework of what the Author calls the Enhanced Coordination of EU and national Employment policies. The holistic approach encompasses all the stages of life of the human being, from education to retirement, in the perspective of guaranteeing social inclusion through work, focusing on the flexicurity pathway. In order to do this, the Author advocates for the need of earmarking investment at EU and national levels in favour of inclusive growth within the Stability Pact. </jats:p
Who is afraid of unions representation? Some considerations on the SAP SE case in the light of EU Labour Law.
The contribution focuses on the Bundesarbeitsgericht’s question to the Court of Justice whether a provision according to which, in the case where an SE with its registered office in Germany is established by means of transformation, a separate selection procedure for persons nominated by trade unions for a certain number of supervisory board members representing the employees must be guaranteed (§ 21(6) SEBG), is compatible with Article 4(4) of Council Directive 2001/86/EC of 8 October 2001 supplementing the Statute for a European company with regard to the involvement of employees. In the view of the Author the answer should be in the sense of compatibility
Genuine Autonomous Work: Toward a Tailor-Made Social Protection
This chapter aims at providing a conceptual framework to social protection of genuine autonomous work, with a reference to solopreneurs, analyzing socioeconomic risks and needs they are facing and that may differ from the traditional ones profiled on subordinate work. The Author criticized the ‘package approach’ of some legislators that just extends Labour Law and Social Security protection typical of subordination to autonomous work. He reflects on the potential of reflexive labour law to set up a regulatory system based on a “self-organized diversity” where the interests of individuals, groups and society can find an adequate balance. The Author draws three conclusions in the perspective of: singling out the very notion of genuine autonomous workers, outside the shadow of the ‘false self-employed’ doctrine; removing any existing ungrounded legal obstacles to self-organization of autonomous workers; promoting self-organization of autonomous workers on platforms

occasional additional authors as noted). The intention of the stories is to place into the University of
Alberta archival record some notable agricultural science events and activities about staff, students and
Alumni, academic and research related stories from the history of the Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science (in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Alberta), stories not previously elaborated that may be of interest to the

positiva dell’approccio adottato dall’ordinamento, sottolineando, però, alcune questioni
aperte in termini di effettività.The essay aims at investigating the notion of adequate means as provided by art. 38 par. 2
const. with reference to unemployment, advocating for the need to adopt a systemic adequacy
perspective within which, without prejudice of benefits in cash, a crucial role is
played by benefits in kind, then pointing out a difference between adequate means as resources
and adequate means as tools. From the investigation of the legislation in force, as
amended in 2021, the Author derives a positive structural assessment, highlighting that,
however, some issues on effectiveness still remain open
Home and stranger archetypes in Ales Razanau’s book Hannoversche punktierungen
This article deals with the archetypes of home and stranger in the poetry collection of Ales Razanau “Hannoversche punktierungen” (2002). The introductory part describes the importance of the above archetypes for Belarusian culture. The author considers the manifestations of archetypes of home and stranger at the levels of imagery, phonetics, colour range and syntax. The main motifs discovered are those of loss, going astray and nowhere. The home archetype is rendered mainly through the images of people and buildings. Other stylistic peculiarities pointed out are the dialogue between the author and the reader, colouristics and its function in rendering the main idea as well as personification of things, flora and natural phenomena.28128
Lactic acid bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus in the formation of sour ales flavor profile
Sour ales have become widely spread in Europe since XVII century. These drinks are still popular in Germany, Belgium, England and other European countries. Interest in sour ales has been growing steadily in Russia. The purpose of this work was to systematize and generalize scientific data and the results of practical use of lactic acid bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus in sour ales production technology and in the formation of the ready beverage flavor profile. The subjects of the research were biochemical and biotechnological properties of lactic acid bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus frequently used in sour ales production, namely, L. delbrueckii, L. brevis, L. buchneri, L. fermentum, L. plantarum. The results of studying sour ales composition by means of gas chromatography, solid phase microextraction, liquid chromatography, and mass spectroscopy show that they have complex compositions. Thus, sour ales of Lambic and Gueuze groups have 64 volatile compounds. Taste and aroma of sour ales are mostly formed by the most important components synthesized during lactic-acid fermentation. They are higher alcohols, complex esters, organic acids, dimethyl sulfide and diacetyl. Concentration of these components is mainly determined by the type of lactic acid bacteria. The article generalizes and systematizes scientific data concerning biochemical and biotechnological properties of different types of lactic acid bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus used for sour ale production. The article reveals concentrations of the main products and by-products synthesized by the given types of lactic acid bacteria during fermentation. The author points out corresponding taste and aroma sensations according to terminology used in European Brewing Convention (EBC)
