the PwC global survey analyses key aspects of government accounting and financial reporting in terms of three themes. 1- Government accounting and financial reporting, today and tomorrow. The dynamic for accrual accounting. To establisha baseline understanding of current government accounting and reporting rules, as well as budgetary and auditing practices, and show the rends in terms of reform initiatives that are currently in progress around the world. 2- Making the transition to accrual accounting: benefits and challenges. To understand the impact on governments of the transition, or possible transition, to accrual accounting standards based on IPSAS or equivalent and learn more about the resulting benefits and challenges. 3- The future of the government finance function. To put government accounting in the context of the wider finance function and evaluate governments' performance in various aspects of financial management, and get insight into how governments envision moving this forward
PwC global survey on accounting and reporting by central governments

Gross plastic deformation of axisymmetric pressure vessel heads
The gross plastic deformation and associated plastic loads of four axisymmetric torispherical pressure vessels are determined by two criteria of plastic collapse: the ASME twice elastic slope (TES) criterion and the recently proposed plastic work curvature (PWC) criterion. Finite element analysis was performed assuming small and large deformation theory and elastic–perfectly plastic and bilinear kinematic hardening material models. Two plastic collapse modes are identified: bending-dominated plastic collapse of the knuckle region in small deformation models and membrane-dominated plastic collapse of the cylinder or domed end in large deformation models. In both circumstances, the PWC criterion indicates that a plastic hinge bending mechanism leads to gross plastic deformation and is used as a parameter to identify the respective plastic loads. The results of the analyses also show that the PWC criterion leads to higher design loads for strain hardening structures than the TES criterion, as it takes account of the effect of strain hardening on the evolution of the gross plastic deformation mechanism
Analysis and identification of a skill-based workforce planning method for Digital Assurance at PwC Switzerland
In essence, the objective of this bachelor thesis was to identify and create a model for skill-based workforce planning for the operational unit Digital Assurance, which is part of PwC. The problem was broken down into two main milestones: 1) Analyse the current workforce in terms of available skills and competencies within the DA practice and visualize the skill supply 2) Identify how the skill aspect within DA can be added to a demand and supply perspective. The results will be used to generate a model or an approach that can help to connect skills and demand
PwC
PwC is a company with which I have had contact and knowledge since I was born. I have seen many changes in the company, my father's personal growth and, above all, accelerated acquisition of knowledge and learning. Seeing this in my dad, I always had in mind the idea of ??being part of PwC. Thus, I took advantage of the time of my academic internship in Psychology to start working in this company. Just as I have seen that PwC gives my dad and my family great opportunities, I wanted to take advantage of my personal passion for interior design and provide PwC with a proposal for new offices in Colombia. PwC is looking to start a process of remodeling its offices and I see it as an opportunity to do an academic exercise where methodology and design thinking are applied to interior design. In this way, I seek to participate with PwC in its remodeling of the offices in Cali, in the Bavaria building. Design the entire 400m2 office proposal with areas for teamwork, well-being, learning and critical thinking. All this with the new image of the company: color palette, mission, vision and values.DiseñadorPregrad
Redefining business success in a changing world
Examines key issues across the CEO agenda including growth, transformation, measuring success and managing stakeholders.
Summary
CEOs both at home and abroad are feeling less optimistic about global economic growth, as well their own organisation’s ability to grow, compared to views last year.
A plethora of reasons have contributed to this. Australia’s economy is readjusting itself from a mining boom, China’s economy is slowing, and the speed of technological change and a huge leap in cyber-attacks means volatility is the everyday norm.
We’re seeing Australian CEOs respond by focusing on cost-cutting measures and reducing headcount. While there’s merit in this, the focus should be on productivity, innovation and R&D, as these will lead to the long-term sustainable growth Australia needs.
The stakeholder pool is broadening and with it comes challenges of who, and how, companies can effectively communicate organisational values and purpose to. It’s no longer just financial investors or regulators that are essential stakeholders, rather customers, industry competitors and local communities who seem to yield significant impact on organisational strategies. Mobile connectivity and social media have meant that everyone is looking for more information on the companies they engage with. This means companies need to convey much more than financial returns, including the broader impact they have on communities, who they partner with and employee practices.
In this year’s report we discuss key issues across the CEO agenda including growth, transformation, measuring success and managing stakeholders. We also consider the role that government has to play, in particular tax reform and helping secure a skilled and adaptable workforce with a focus on science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
In conjunction with the survey participants for Australia, we also interviewed 5 business leaders to further understand just how significant each of these issues are for their organisations, and what they’re doing to address them
