Experimental Validation of a Gas-Gas Heat Exchanger Computational Dynamic Model
A simplified modular dynamic model of a gas-gas cross-flow shell-and-tube heat exchanger and its experimental validation are carried out in this paper. The is used to analyze the transient response of a combustion exhaust gas-air industrial heat exchanger by evaluating the time variations of exchanger outlet air temperature due to step variations on both the temperature and mass flow rate of the combustion gas at the exchanger inlet. The developed mathematical model is validated by means of experimental data measured on a test plant which was especially realized and instrumented. The computational analysis provided numerical values of response times that are consistent with the experimental values, showing how the mathematical model is adequate for the analysis of the heat exchanger transient behavior
Development and Validation of a Model for Axial Compressor Fouling Simulation
Gas turbine axial compressor performance are heavily influenced by blade fouling; as a result, the gas turbines efficiency and producible power output decrease.
In this study a model, able to evaluate the performance degradation of an axial compressor due to fouling, is developed and validated. The model is validated against experimental results available in literature and included into a computer code developed by the Authors (IN.FO.G.T.E) which is able to estimate the performance of every commercial gas turbine by using a stage stacking methods for the simulation of compressor behavior.
The goal of this study is to show and discuss the change in gas turbine main performance (such as efficiency, power output, compressor inlet mass flow rate, pressure ratio) due to compressor fouling and also highlight and discuss the change in compressor stages performance curves

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
