No full textTemple as a  result of culture during Hindu-Buddha  is a building depicting cosmogony concept. Despitefully, temple also is  a replica from mount Mahameru residence of the deities. Figure Gana is one of creature chiseled at temple wall, as complement of depiction of cosmos. Existence of this fgure at temple contains purposes and objectives. Problem which will be broken, that is: ( 1) How denoting system of fgure Gana at  temple Borobudur and  temple Mendut? ( 2) How  location denoting system of fgure Gana at the temple? This research is focused on the Gana at Borobudur and Mendut temples. The fgure of Gana is analysed by semiotic approach because by this approach every fgure chiseled at temple relating to signs: signifer (‘penanda’) and signifed (‘petanda’), as according to semiotics study coverage. Semiotic analyse to Gana fgure can only be done if various descriptions about its ommission have been known. The informations which explain the Gana fgure have gotten from written sources of establishment rules and of symbolic meaning on every part of temple made by the architects and priest alive in theirs days. The research procedure was divided into three phases: preparation, feld study, and data analysis phase. From the result of this research and the discussion, we know that the depiction of Gana fgure at Borobudur and Mendut temples doesn’t get out from cosmogony concept. Depiction system of Gana fgure was adapted by symbolic meaning on every parts of temple. So, it can be said that Gana is an icon from a religious situation during Hindu-budha and a symbol from “upper world†(heaven). The location of Gana fgure at temple is becaming an icon from cosmogony concept.Keywords: Gana, temple, semiotic.</p
A comprehensive review of Kakaradi gana and its significance in Rasashastra
Get PDFAmong various branches of Ayurveda, Rasashastra is an important branch known for its various formulations called as Rasaushadhi (Mineral or Herbo-mineral medicines). According to various classics of Ayurveda, some Pathyapathya (Wholesome and unwholesome diet / regime) are explained which should be followed during the Rasasevanakala (period of consuming Mercurial Preparation). The group of fruits and vegetables which are advocated as Apathya (unwholesome diet) during the Rasasevanakala is known as Kakaradi Gana. In some texts, eight number of such dravyas are mentioned and this group is known as Kakarashtaka Gana. The total number of drugs mentioned under the Kakaradi Gana in various classics are different. These Kakaradi gana drugs also has other utility in the Rasashastra other than unwholesome regime. Here an attempt has been made to compile the Kakaradi gana, Kakarashtaka gana with Probable rationale behind elucidation of these gana and significance of these ganas are also discussed here
Vayasthapana Gana Ksheerapaka in Perimenopausal Symptoms - A Case Report
Get PDFPerimenopause is the transition period from reproductive to non-reproductive phase. It usually begins with menstrual cycle irregularity and extends to one year after permanent cessation of menstruation. There is manifestation of varied physical, psychological and somatic symptoms. Menopause may be correlated to Rajakshaya. It usually occurs as part of the ageing process and is the period of transition from Pitta predominant middle age to vata predominant old age. Treatment in modern medicine includes hormone replacement therapy and use of anti-depressants etc. Acharyas mention Jara among Swabhavabala pravritta Vyadhi, and its management is to be done with drugs having Rasayana property. Here we present a 48-year-old lady who presented with complaints of hot flushes, severe sweating especially during night hours, reduced sleep, irritability, multiple joint pain, loss of interest in most daily activities and stress incontinence. Vayasthapana gana was administered as Ksheerapaka. Vayasthapana gana include ten drugs which are Rasayana, Medhya, Tridosha samana and possess anti-oxidant, free radical scavenging and anti-stress activity. Ksheera is Vata pitta samana, Rasayana, and Jeevaneeya. Vayasthapana gana ksheerapaka is given in the dose of 48ml twice daily one hour before food for thirty days. After treatment intensity of these symptoms were reduced. Follow up was done thirty days after stopping the medication, here also intensity of these symptoms remained less when compared to before treatment. Here we reviewed the probable role of Vayasthapana gana ksheerapaka in alleviating perimenopausal symptoms
Ambashtadi Gana Kashaya Pana in Bhagna Sandhana - A Case Study
Get PDFBackground: A Fracture is defined as a complete or incomplete break in the continuity of a bone. Fractures are more common nowadays due to various reasons like fall and RTA. Long Bones are commonly affected due to RTA and fall. In the context of Bhagna mentioned by our ancient Acharyas, we can find out that it resembles the clinical feature of Fractures. In this study a humble attempt is being made to evaluate the role of Ambashtadi Gana Kashayapana in long bone fractures. Aim: To evaluate and compare the effect of Ambashtadi Gana Kashayapana with Calcium supplements in the management of Bhagna w.s.r. to long bone fractures. Materials and Methods: 40 patients are divided into 2 groups randomly with each group containing 20 patients each. Group A patient receives Ambashtadi Gana orally along with conventional fracture management. Second group was kept as control group in which Calcium supplements were given along with conventional Fracture management. Results are documented clinically and studied statistically to draw the conclusion. Results: In Group A, highly significant results were seen in 60% of patients for swelling and loss of function and even better results for pain and tenderness. Even in Group B, 58% of patients were having good improvements. Conclusion: Group A is comparatively better in managing symptoms like swelling and Loss of Function. Even marked improvement was seen on pain and tenderness as well. Thus, it indicates that Ambashtadi gana is beneficial in the management of fracture
Writing the nation: Alberto Blest Gana\u27s novelistic vision for a modern Chile
No full textThis dissertation examines the nationalistic vision and progressive ideology found in three novels by Alberto Blest Gana. His novels are more than simple nineteenth-century romances that take place in a Chilean setting. Behind their romantic plots of star-crossed lovers hide lessons for social change. I demonstrate that Blest Gana\u27s novels are purpose-driven with the goal of laying out what Chileans must do to modernize their nation. Chapter 2 analyzes the novel Martín Rivas to examine the role women play in Blest Gana\u27s national project. Leonor Encina, the heroine, is a strong figure who pushes the boundaries of what is socially acceptable for a woman and is an active participant in the action of the novel. She is the emblematic modern woman and symbolizes the indispensable role women have in shaping the nation. Chapter 3 explores Blest Gana\u27s vision for building a cohesive and inclusive country through the peaceful integration of the Mapuche Indians in his short novel Mariluán. Chapter 4 uses Mikhail Bakhtin\u27s theory of the chronotope to study the extensive mannerism descriptions Blest Gana includes in El ideal de un calavera. The novel makes clear that the protagonist, Abelardo Manríquez, is a don Juan type womanizer who is immoral and thus impedes national development. His story, however, serves as the path for moving between the mannerism scenes that are of primary interest in the novel. Through these scenes the author promotes patriotic pride and shows various aspects of his country. While his novels often present what is awry in Chile they still are intensely nationalistic and foment patriotic pride. My project is significant because it provides a new understanding of Blest Gana\u27s novels as an influential method for instilling national values and for proposing solutions to his country\u27s social problems

In the interview, she discusses her non-profit organization, her Herwa Heart of Art Initiative. This part provides details on how she established the organization and her successes and challenges. La conferencia se realizó los días 14 y 15 de marzo en la Universidad de Colonia en Alemania.
“Cuando me entere del WBD pensé que esa era la oportunidad que tenía para ser parte de un dialogo mundial. Postulé con un ensayo que contaba el caso del crecimiento comercial del distrito de Los Olivos. Luego, se comunicaron conmigo para decirme que había ganado la beca y me fui a Alemania. La conferencia que más me marco en el Dialogo fue la del Profesor Kenneth P. Morse, Founder, MIT Enterpreneurship Center; porque pude conectar todo lo que nos enseña la UPC sobre liderazgo e innovación. Ahora tengo una visión de lo que quiero hacer y de lo que quiero lograr. Eso es un verdadero líder, el que tiene sus metas claras. Poder asistir a esa conferencia mundial me hizo descubrir mi visión. Generative Adversarial Network-assisted Graph Convolutional Network (GANA-GCN)
No full textGenerative adversarial networks (GANs) have attracted considerable attention due to the generator having fewer restrictions compared to existing techniques like Boltzmann machines. However, in the field of graph convolutional networks (GCNs), most efforts to improve the embedding quality have focused on making node representations contain more structural information, and a method to optimize the node embedding using the adversary concept has thus far been lacking. In the present work, we discover that the adjacency matrix generated from node labels is helpful to learn better node embeddings and improve semi-supervised node classification accuracy. We thus propose GANA-GCN, which consists of a generator G that learns node embeddings and labels to make a classification and a discriminator D that encourages node embeddings include label information when the discriminability is weakened. Experimental results demonstrate that GANA-GCN is effective to improve the classification accuracy on a non-Euclidean dataset. Sensitivity analysis further illustrates the effect of key parameters on the overall performance.</p
