No full textThe thesis depicts the gender inequality in three selected horrors of Ira Levin. The nature and history of the horror genre is outlined. The thesis also deals with concepts such as gender or feminism. Based on gender stereotypes, characters from selected novels are analyzed. The behaviour and reactions of the characters helped the author determine Levin's perception of female oppression. In Conclusion, the acquired insight is summarized, from which the author deduced the role of women in Levin's works.Práce se zaobírá genderovou nerovností ve třech vybraných hororech Ira Levina. Podstata a historie hororového žánru je nastíněna. Práce se taktéž věnuje pojmům jako gender či feminismus. Na základě genderových stereotypů jsou analyzovány postavy z vybraných románů. Chování a reakce postav napomohlo autorce určit Levinovo vnímání ženského utlačování. V závěru jsou shrnuty získané poznatky, z nichž autorka vydedukovala roli žen v Levinových dílech.Fakulta filozofickáStudentka na výzvu komise podrobně představila své závěry i obsah BP. Kvalifikācijas darba tēma ir Uztura paradumi jauniešiem. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot
uztura paradumus jauniešiem.
Latvijas veselības uztura kontroles centrs, 2015. gadā veicot pētījumu Latvijā abu dzimumu
jauniešu vidū, konstatēja, ka samazinās veselīga uztura lietošana, tajā skaitā augļu un dārzeņu
patēriņš, paralēli palielinoties liekajai ķermeņa masai un aptaukošanai. (LVKC, 2015.)
Latvijas Republikas Slimību profilakses un kontroles centrā veiktā pētījumā rezultāti liecina,
ka Latvijas jauniešu vidū veselības paradumi, tajā skaitā arī veselīgas ēšanas paradumi kļūst arvien
nepopulārāki, kā rezultātā rodas dažādi veselības traucējumi (SPKC, 2018).
Uztura speciālisti savos darbos norāda, ka veselīgam, sabalansētam uzturam un ēšanas
režīmam ir svarīga nozīme cilvēka labas pašsajūtas un veselības nodrošināšanai, kas ir tieši saistīts
ar labas dzīves kvalitātes nodrošināšanu. (Zigurds, Neimane, Bodnieks 2018).
Neveselīgi uztura paradumi nopietni ietekmē jauniešu pašsajūtu un mācību sasniegumus.
Neatkarīgi no medicīnas māsu darba vietas (izglītības iestāde, ārsta privātprakse, ārstniecības
iestāde), viņām regulāri nākas saskarties ar jauniešiem, kuriem veselības problēmas ir izraisījuši
neveselīgi ēšanas un dzīvesveida paradumi. (Malki, 2018).
Kvalifikācijas darbā tika izvirzīts pētījuma jautājums: Kādi ir uztura paradumi jauniešiem?
Pētījumā izmantotās metodes: kvantitatīvā pētījuma metode – anketēšana, kvantitatīvs,
aprakstošs, neeksperimentāls šķērsgriezuma pētījums.
Kvalifikācijas darbs sastāv no 41 lapaspusēm, to papildina 14 attēli un 2 pielikumi. Darba
rakstīšanai izmantoti 22 informatīvie avoti.The author of the qualification paper is Jana Levina, a student of the study program
“Nursing” of the Liepāja branch of Riga Stradiņš University.
The topic of the qualification paper is Eating habits for young people. The aim of the study
is to find out the eating habits of young people.
The Latvian Health Nutrition Control Center, conducting a study in Latvia among young
people of both sexes in 2015, found that the consumption of healthy f ood, including the
consumption of fruits and vegetables, is decreasing, while overweight and obesity are increasing.
(LVKC, 2015)
The results of a study conducted by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control of the
Republic of Latvia show that health habits, including healthy eating habits, are becoming
increasingly unpopular among young people in Latvia, resulting in various health disorders
(SPKC, 2018).
In their work, nutritionists point out that a healthy, balanced diet and eating regime play an
important role in ensuring a person's well-being and health, which is directly related to ensuring a
good quality of life (Zigurds, Neimane, Bodnieks 2018).
Unhealthy eating habits seriously affect young people's well-being and learning
achievements. Regardless of the workplace of nurses (educational institution, private doctor's
practice, medical institution), they regularly come into contact with young people whose health
problems are caused by unhealthy eating and lifestyle habits. (Malki, 2018).
The research question for the qualification work is: What are the eating habits of young
people?
Methods used in the research: quantitative research method - questionnaire, quantitative,
descriptive, non-experimental cross-sectional research.
The qualification paper consists of 41 pages, it is supplemented by 14 images and 2
appendices. 22 informative sources were used to write the work
Virtual Tour with English Subtitle at Palawi Risorsis
Full text linkVirtual Tour is a technology that puts user in images and allows the user to increase situational awareness and improve the ability to see, capture and analyze virtual data significantly. Especially, during pandemic of Covid-19 forces tourist to stay at home, they can still travel and information about tourist objects properly from home. Another reason is by using english translation, international tourist still understand the information from virtual tour explanation. Therefore, the purposes of this job training are to explain job training at Palawi Risorsis, to create an English voice over for virtual tour, and to explain the obstacle and solution in creating an voice over. The method used are observation, interview, and documentation.
Job training implementation start with creating English voice over for virtual tour through several steps. First, the author took a video about Pancuran 7, botanical gardens, and tirta sela waterfall. The video was taken in the 3rd and 4th week. The first video was taken at the Purwokerto station. Secondly, The author write a script and include any necessary information on places in Banyumas. Third, the author create the voice over by recording every section of the voice session. On the last process, the author also did another phase for editing the video voice over. Last activity, the author went to the observation at the resort and did hospitality activities while finishing virtual tour project.
Based on job training, it can be inferred that before making a virtual tour video about English promotion, you need to prepare some matters. First, to know about the material to be uploaded, prepare the photo or video in good quality with right angle, good color composition, and actual. Second, the author must be selective to make a caption, to choose the word, and the sentence so it did not seem awkward or weird. The author hopes that the English promotion can let the international tourist know if Baturraden has Palawi Risorsis, and it could be more popular among the other tourist attractions in Baturraden. The author suggestion that as a tourism destination, Palawi Risorsis in Baturraden have to improve the english in order to promote for international tourists. As one of the well-known tourist destinations, the use of English will attract international tourists to visit Palawi Risorsis. By using English text, international tourists can understand from the promotional information that they are looking in social media such as Instagram or YouTube
Recent Jewish immigrants\u27 communication in Postville, Iowa: A case study
Full text linkFor this paper the author researched Iowa\u27s immigration history and modern day Postville, a small town that represents a tossed salad of cultural, religious, and linguistic diversities. The author analyzed the current effect of immigration as well as the process of integration and assimilation into the small town through the eyes of its immigrants. The major emphasis is placed on Postville located in northeast Iowa. For 150 years Postville was an all-white, all-Christian farming community of 1,000 souls, most of European ancestry. Today the population of Postville has doubled and of the 2,000 people who reside in Postville almost one quarter are Jewish, and Hispanics, Russians, and other ethnicities make up another 300 people. Within the last decade this small town has undergone considerable social and cultural changes.
With this research project the author explored how communication between different cultures in small Iowa town has affected the life of the immigrants; the researcher wanted to learn the pros and cons that people see in being an immigrant, what struggles they face living in another culture, and how they maintain their home traditions, culture, and native language

Research problems in mathematics for elementary school and its assessment
No full textMaģistra darbā „Pētnieciskie darbi matemātikā pamatskolas klasēm un to vērtēšana” tiek aplūkots, kāda ir pētniecisko darbu loma mācību procesā, tiek akcentēta starppriekšmetu saikne, tiek aplūkoti ESF projekta „Dabaszinātnes un matemātika” laikā izstrādātie atbalsta materiāli skolotājiem, īpašu uzmanību pievēršot pētnieciskajiem darbiem un to aprobācijai. Darbā apskatīta vērtēšanas loma mācību procesā, izstrādāta pētnieciskās darbības vērtēšanas tabula. Maģistra darbs satur arī autora izstrādātos pētnieciskos darbus pamatskolas klasēm ar vērtēšanas kritērijiem, kas noderēs matemātikas skolotājiem mācību procesā.

In the thesis is considered the role of assessment in the educational process and is developed system of criteria for assessment of research activities. Master's thesis also includes research problems for elementary school developed by the author and the assessment criteria for them, which will be useful for teachers of mathematics in the educational process.
Master's thesis is a methodical aid for teachers of mathematics for elementary school.

From boundary spanning to creolization: A study of Chinese software and services outsourcing vendors

Copyright @ 2013 Elsevier B.V.This paper was awarded Journal of Strategic Information Systems Best Paper Award 2013.In achieving success in global sourcing arrangements, the role of a cultural liaison, boundary spanner or transnational intermediary is frequently highlighted as being critical. This paper critiques, builds upon and synthesizes relevant streams of ideas in relation to boundary-spanning and cross-cultural management across a number of disciplines, and constructs a multi-layered creolization framework, encompassing processes at the individual, intra- and inter-organizational and inter-national levels which, we argue, are entangled and interrelated. Viewed as a vital and innovative phenomenon, creolization embodies the interactive, contentious and creative processes of network expansion, mutual sensemaking, cultural hybridity and identity multiplicity. Qualitative empirical data from the software and services outsourcing industry in Northwest China is used to demonstrate the complexity of cross-cultural practices in offshore collaborations and illustrate creolization processes. Potentials for theoretical development are outlined and implications for cross-cultural practices are discussed
