A review on the storytelling of Akif Hasan Kaya
Born in Balıkesir in 1977, Akif Hasan Kaya’s first story book was published in 2012. Apart from his story books, he also has one published novel. A narrative approaching to surrealism and fantasy can be observed in his stories. In addition, he also includes the concept of family, the image of light and sentences loaded with visuality in his stories. The author has five published story books. In Akif Hasan Kaya’s stories; The sufferings and social issues experienced in the Islamic geography that shake people are at the forefront. Kaya explains this situation by fictionalizing it through story characters and using poetic expression. He became the voice of people who were oppressed, like the people in his stories. He brought many current facts to his stories. The story books of Akif Hasan Kaya, whose life and literary personality we also touch upon in this study, are: Islak Kibritler, Ölmüş Oyuncaklar Müzesi, Uzun ve Lacivert Günler, Bu Bir Aşk Hikayesi Değildir ve Serçe Risalesi. The texts in these books are classified as “short stories” and “short-short stories”. In this study, while examining Akif Hasan Kaya’s stories, the classical narrative analysis method was used for short stories. While examining short-short stories, the prominent features of the story, which were analyzed together with the classical narrative analysis method, were taken as basis
Akif Pirinçci "Yin" – Gender studies or grotesque Dystopie
Akif Pirinçci is one of the most discussed authors in recent German literature. This is not only due to his work as a writer, but also to his provocative statements. More than often his name appears in press reports related to misogyny or even racism. These slogans also run through his novels. This in turn raises the question of whether Akif Pirinçci tries to suggest gender-specific, negative ideologies in his works. The novel "Yin" represents a new world order in which there are no more men and women are left to fend for themselves. The way in which the topic is dealt with by Pirinçci is sometimes so grotesque that the author's intention can be irritating to the reader. This work inherently analyses the novel "Yin" by Akif Pirinçci with regard to the question of whether the author tries to contribute to gender studies with the novel or whether it is a pure dystopia
Chingiz Aitmatov's Grand Narrative
Beyond political and cultural criticisms, grand narratives have the authority to disclose real facts. This authority is most effective in the field of culture. Grand narratives are the universal presentation of local culture. In a culture dominated by grand narratives, the dominant ideology of the regime is to control knowledge. Grand narratives play a role in generalizing and transferring information skillfully while describing the contemporary situation. A novelist was defined as a mirror reflecting the period and society in which he lived. Likewise, Chingiz Aitmatov tried to depict the political, social, and cultural structure of his period, and accordingly, formed his own grand narrative. The author skillfully revealed the facts of the period regarding the Marxist tradition and described the social, cultural, and political structure of the period using a tentative language in parallel with the facts such as analogy, myth, and legend. © 2021, IGI Global
QUALITY ASSESSMENT OF PANSHARPENED RASAT AND LANDSAT-8 IMAGES USING SYNTHETIC SENTINEL-2 PANCHROMATIC IMAGE
Technical and physical limitations often do not allow images to be acquired with high spatial and spectral resolution. Pansharpened images obtained by fusing high spatial resolution panchromatic images and multi-spectral images are widely used in GIS applications. In this study, it is aimed to increase the spatial resolution of the RASAT and Landsat-8 multispectral satellite images with synthetic Sentinel-2 panchromatic data. Six different pansharpening methods were used to test the success of the synthetic panchromatic data generation method using dataset with two different land use/land cover properties. Seven full reference image quality assessment metrics and two referenceless image quality assessment metrics were used to perform quantitative comparison. © Author(s) 2021. CC BY 4.0 License
Comparison of histogram-curve fitting-based and global threshold methods for cloud detection
The goal of this research is fit the best curve to the image histogram using polynomial (i.e., linear, quadratic, cubic, and quartic), Fourier and Gaussian with two different term numbers, and Bezier functions, and then compare their performance with nine automatic state-of-the-art thresholding methods: Shanbhag, Triangle, Huang, Intermode, IsoData, Li's, Maximum entropy, Moment, and Otsu. The visible bands of the Landsat-9, Landsat-8, and Sentinel 2 satellite images are averaged to create an index map, which was used to perform the cloud detection. Since many satellites system only has visible bands, the average index map was used. Three different images which include various cloud types were clipped from each satellite imaging. Thresholding methods were evaluated using statistical tools such as structural similarity index measure (SSIM), peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), and universal image quality index (UIQI), accuracy, Cohen's kappa, precision, recall, F-Measure, and G-Mean. The histogram-based approaches that performed the best after Li's method were Bezier (96.71% accuracy and 99.83% SSIM), 2nd Gaussian (97.62% precision), Quartic (80.56% kappa, 16.16% PSNR, 82.45% F-Measure, and 89.52%), and 2nd Fourier (81.08% recall and 89.27% G-Mean), according to the average statistics of all images. Additionally, methods other than Shanbhag yielded favorable results (more than 90% accuracy). © 2023, The Author(s) under exclusive licence to Iranian Society of Environmentalists (IRSEN) and Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University

A comparative study of evolutionary computation and swarm-based methods applied to color quantization
Color Quantization (CQ) is a complex and hard problem because selecting the best set of colors from many available colors and using that set to obtain a good quality image is an NP-complete problem. The use of evolutionary computation and swarm-based methods to solve search and optimization problems has increased dramatically in recent years. This article compares some of these methods in order to solve the CQ problem. The following methods were used to generate CQ images: Particle swarm optimization, Artificial bee colony, Adaptive differential evolution, Success-history based adaptive differential evolution (with and without linear population size reduction), Cuckoo search, Firefly algorithm and Shuffled-frog leaping algorithm. For the first two methods, two variants were considered. Thus, a total of ten metaheuristics were compared with four classical CQ methods (Variance-based, Median-cut, Binary splitting and Wu's methods) applying them to a set of benchmark images and considering four different palette sizes (32, 64, 128, and 256 colors). Three error measures were considered to compare the methods: the mean squared error, the mean absolute error and the peak signal-to-noise ratio. Some of the swarm-based methods analyzed include a recently proposed CQ method using ants. Although they have a slow computational speed in the experimental studies, the ant-based methods are significantly better than all other methods according to the Wilcoxon signed rank test. In general, despite their speed, classical methods underperform the other ten methods both qualitatively and quantitatively. © 2023 The Author(s
Miqësia e të jatit me Mehmet Akif Ersojin
Ihsan Efendi's friendship with Mehmet Akif, his love and respect for Akif, has turned into an example of gratitude. This mutual respect has been preferred by his peers, as well as appreciated by the following generations. Thanks to this friendship, Mehmet Akifi gathered the strength to separate from Cairo and for him took the road to Istanbul, in a bad state of health, in so as to take his last breath in his native land: but entrusting to this young friend, faithful and of strong character, his translation of the Koran. But this unparalleled friendship cannot be reduced to just a matter of faith to leave the translation to the Koran. It should be borne in mind that Akif, the great poet of the Turkish nation, the author of the Epic of the Martyrs of Çanakkale and the Independence March, one of the symbolic figures of the War of National Liberation, together with Ihsan Efendi, who at that time was a young researcher from Yozgat, together, felt longing for their homeland in the common exile, this exile which they had chosen with their free will.

The Concepts of Peace and Unity in the Works of Mehmet Akif Ersoy
AbstractFrom the cradle of the humanity, unity and sympathy played vital role in keeping peace between nations. “Divide and conquer” politics widely practiced in Europe and Russia, made its great influence on the Ottoman Empire of XIX and XX ages. Mehmet Akif Ersoy believed that one and only way to keep the country in prosperity was unity. This idea was the essence of his life and all of his works. He strongly believed that nothing can lead to disturbances in country, if everyone in it is trying to establish it. Author of national anthem wasn’t only focused on writing poems and articles; but also he preached the need in uniting on a single religion for the better future of the country. Unity of Muslims led to the establishment of great cultures. Disunion of which resulted in a loss of their lands and people. For the whole life Mehmet Akif followed these ideas, relying on Turkic-Islamic history and main principles of Islam religion, including Koran, which played significant role in the establishment of his personalit
