Full text linkPenelitian ini membahas tentang perjalanan hidup Amin Nuddin, seorang pelopor usaha barang bekas di Jorong Bukit Gombak, Sumatera Barat, sejak tahun 2002 hingga 2024. Meskipun berasal dari latar belakang ekonomi yang sangat terbatas dan tidak menyelesaikan pendidikan formal, Amin Nuddin berhasil membangun usaha yang tidak hanya berdampak ekonomi bagi keluarganya, tetapi juga memberikan kontribusi sosial, edukatif, dan lingkungan bagi masyarakat sekitar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui tahapan heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Sumber data diperoleh dari wawancara, observasi lapangan, serta studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan Amin Nuddin dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik pribadi seperti ketekunan, kejujuran, kepemimpinan egaliter, dan keberanian mengambil risiko. Selain menciptakan lapangan kerja lokal, ia juga berperan aktif dalam mengubah persepsi masyarakat terhadap barang bekas melalui pendekatan edukatif dan pendirian Bank Sampah Induk (BSI) “Tiga Saudara”. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kewirausahaan sosial berbasis sumber daya lokal mampu menjadi solusi nyata bagi pengentasan kemiskinan dan pelestarian lingkungan, serta memberikan inspirasi bahwa keterbatasan ekonomi bukanlah penghalang untuk meraih keberhasila

Full text linkThe highest formal academic qualification is the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Currently, in US alone, 1.77% of its population has doctorates or its equivalent degree holders. It differs in every country depending on the quality of education system that it has. As it is the highest recognition for academic performance, a lot have dreamt to hold the revered scroll. However, quite a number have failed trying. There are a lot of descriptions for the acronym PhD; the most frightening one, Permanent Head Damage. Upon reflection, one description fits well. The formula of success for obtaining PhD consists of the elements known as strategical Plan (P), the rich health (H) and the awesome determination (D). This paper is elaborating these three elements and more, required for a person who is attempting to acquire the degree based on a review of literature and my personal experiences. Hopefully, it will be able to help those who are still fighting their way through their journey
Effect of sky fruit’s seed powder on stability of muffin / Amir Mohd Aisha Nuddin
No full textThe aim of this study is to determine the effect of sky fruit’s seed on stability of muffin. In this study the seeds of sky fruit or Swietenia macrophylla were used to analysed its effect on the quality of muffin. The sky fruit’s seed were dried slightly and ground into a fine powder form. The powder was analysed for its total phenolic and saponin content. Analysis of oxidative stability was done on muffins added with the sky fruit’s seed powder and acceptance test was also been done on the muffins. For the total phenolic content of the seed’s powder analysed by using spectrophotometer and gallic acid standard curve. The result shows that the total phenolic compound in the powder was 482.47 + 47.12 mgGAE/100 g. Saponin content was analysed using gravimetric method and the result obtained was 418.62 + 68.71 mg/100 g saponin. Four formulation of muffin with no powder added as control, 50 ppm, 100 ppm and 500 ppm seed’s powder was prepared. Acid value and peroxide value test been done for 12 days and rancimat test also been done on extracted muffin’s oil. For all the analysis, the highest oxidative stability in the 500 ppm muffin. Acceptance test on the taste of muffin was conducted on 25 panellist shows that controlled formulation with no seed’s powder added receive the highest acceptance test. For 50 ppm muffin, 20% of the panellists was able to detect the bitterness of the sky fruit powder in the muffin. Studies show that sky fruit’s seed powder have positive effect on oxidative stability but its bitterness affects the muffin taste hence reduce the suitability of the powder to be used in food product

The researcher is going to study further more on the performance management on SYABAS in order to investigate whether or not these factors have a relationship with the performance management on the company. These factors include human capital, appointed contractors, development and training and rewards. The survey is conducted at organization in SYABAS Head Quarter which is Kuala Lumpur area. The sample size for this study is 50 of employees Department of Management especially internal operation and maintenance. Data obtained using two methods that are primary and secondary data. Respondent are required to answer the questionnaires that contain element that potentially have relationship with performance management on the Company. Data are analyzed using Reliability Test, Frequency and
Descriptive Statistic through SPSS Program. Based on SPSS Program a clear findings and result is observed. The findings showed the factor that significant relationship with performance management on SYABAS human capital and appointed contractors. Based on these factors, the company should highlight that human capital and appointed contractors are very important to the Company in order to increase performance management on the Company. Recommendation and suggestions are put on how to improve and increase the performance management on SYABAS regarding to others factor
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
HPLC method development & structural elucidation of antiproliferative quassinoids from Quassia borneensis Noot. (Simaroubaceae) / Julenah Ag Nuddin
Full text linkBitter quassinoids have been reported to possess numerous biological activities. They are degraded triterpenoids classified according to their basic skeletons; C₁₈, C₁₉, C₂₀, C₂₂, C₂₅. Currently, more than 200 quassinoids have been isolated from genus Quassia, Brucea, Soulamea, Eurycoma, Picrolemnia and others. A study on Quassia borneensis Noot. (Simaroubaceae) (Qb) for its anti-proliferative active quassinoids using a developed and validated high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) isolation method is appropriate for data gathering. In addition, a total synthesis exploration of canthin-6-one would provide information regarding its mechanism and influential factors for viability study. The study was accomplished by extracting powdered bark and root Qb by cold maceration and soxhlet in methanol for yield comparison. The methanol extracts were partitioned to acquire n-hexane, chloroform and aqueous fractions. They were tested for their anti-proliferative activity based on MTS assay using HL-60 cell line. Later, chloroform and aqueous fractions were subjected to isolation and purification with HPLC. Then, pure isolates were structurally elucidated with liquid chromatography-mass spectroscopy (LC-MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). In addition, the mass profile of active fractions was measured using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer triple quadrupole time of flight (LC-MSQTOF). Lastly, pure quassinoid compounds were subjected to MTT assay. In a biomimetic total synthesis attempt, canthin-6-one of Simaroubaceae was pursued through carboxyl-mediated approach following the method of Czerwinski et al. (2003). The positively identified sample was collected at Tawai Forest Reserve, Telupid, Sabah, Malaysia. Qb was successfully extracted and partitioned. Later, the anti-proliferative activity of hexane (Q₁-Q₄), chloroform (Q₅-Q₈) and aqueous (Q₉- Q₁₂) fractions were found active except Q₂ while Q₈ was found to be most active at 0.2 |μg/mL

Each ancient civilisations possessed its own materia medica; from east, Ancient China has Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Indians, their Ayurveda while the Greeks, Greek Medicine and several others. Both similarities and differences in materia medica are information which becomes valuable source in drug discovery. In combination with advanced and sophisticated tools, drug discovery programme aims to produce the wonder drugs for the betterment of humankind. However, in search of the magic bullet, we should not let haste and greed allow us to disregard materia medica as our heritage to be passed on
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
