Perspektif Pemangku Kepentingan di Kabupaten Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Tentang Pengelolaan Sampah Rumah Tangga
Novriadhy et al, 2019. Stakeholder Perspective in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir District Concerning Household Waste Management. pp. 347-353. Households are the biggest waste producers. Therefore, household waste management must be done carefully and efficiently - especially for the New Autonomous Region - so as not to consume all resources that needed for development. This research was carried out in PALI District with the aim to identify the needs in waste management based on cross-sectoral stakeholder perspectives. Research informants came from local government units, nongovernment organizations, waste management practitioners, and small business groups. Data collected through FGD, observation and literature search. The data is processed with a qualitative approach and interpreted by the input-process-output method. The results showed three key factors needed for waste management i.e. the existence of the compost market, the availability of environmental cadres, and an environmental management working group that could synergize programs/activities from various stakeholders whereas the supporting factors were the funding method, regulatory enforcement, and adequate facilities-infrastructure. The research concluded that there is a need to change community behavior and work culture
Pengaruh Pemadatan Tanah Gambut terhadap Sifat Fisik di Lokasi Kebun Raya Sriwijaya Sumatera Selatan
Maryani, S., Novriadhy, D., & Karenina, T. (2024). The effect of peat soil compaction on physical properties at the Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens, South Sumatra. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-12 Tahun 2024, Palembang 21 Oktober 2024. (pp. 878–885). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The physical characteristics of the soil at each location are always different, especially for land that contains peat. The Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens of South Sumatra is a botanical garden on peat land with five functions, namely plant conservation, research, education, tourism and environmental services. These various functions will result in soil compaction which also affects the physical properties of peat soil, so research is needed to determine the effect of peat land compaction on the physical properties of the soil at the Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens of South Sumatra for planning the management of this land in the future. This research was conducted at the Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens in Bakung Village, Indralaya Utara District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province with a peat land type. Soil sampling was carried out using a soil sample ring at a soil depth of between 0-20 cm. The sample points were determined as many as 20 points on a land area of 100 hectares. The parameters of the physical characteristics of the soil observed were bulk density, soil pore space and water content. Observations of the physical characteristics of the soil were carried out at the Laboratory of the Soil Department, Sriwijaya University. The results of the study showed that the physical characteristics at several soil sampling locations in the peatlands of the Sriwijaya Botanical Gardens of South Sumatra varied, influenced by the function of the land before and after development, the depth of the peat, and the distance of the location from the canal. The physical characteristics of the soil bulk density value at the location ranged from 0.15 to 0.38; the soil pore space obtained with an average value of 93.68% and the saturated water content ranged from 66.68% - 98%). It is hoped that the identification of the physical characteristics of this land can be used as a reference material in the planning and management of peatlands at this location in the future
Distributed Individual-Based Environmental Simulation
This paper describes the development and construction of a distributed model allowing the simulation of a large population. Particular attention will be paid to allowing the modelling of an individual's behaviour, communication and interaction with a shared environment. Individual based modelling is not a new concept, nor is the idea of distributed simulations, the system detailed here offers a means of combining these two paradigms into one large-scale modelling environment. A key concept in this system is that each individual being modelled is implemented as a separate process. This atomisation of the model allows the simulation a greater flexibility, individuals can be rapidly developed and the simulation can be spread over a wide number of machines of varying architectures. In an attempt to produce a flexible, extensible, individual based model of a large number of individual subjects the client-server paradigm has been employed. Combining the individual-based modelling techniques with a client-server network architecture has been found to be quite straightforward with the added bonus of having communication between individuals included for free. The idea of considering the problem as one of interaction between an individual and the environment means that the problems normally associated with distributed simulations, those of continuity of world-views for different clients and of communication between clients, are easily solved. Although this system has been developed originally to allow simulations of the Mountain Gorilla (Gorilla Gorilla Beringe) population, the modelling methods employed have meant that almost any entity can be simulated with very little change to the basic simulation processes
KUALITAS AIR BERSIH DAN POTENSI DAMPAKNYA TERHADAP KESEHATAN MASYARAKAT DI KABUPATEN MUARA ENIM
ABSTRACT
Muara Enim Regency has plateau and a relatively broad flood plain so that improving the quality of water that has been utilized by the community so far is a realistic solution to meet the needs of clean water. The study aimed to identify the relationship of the physical condition of water sources to chronic diseases suffered by residents and to explore water quality factors that had the potency to influence chronic diseases in the Muara Enim Regency. The research used a descriptive statistical approach and was cross-sectional by utilizing raw data from the 2015 and 2017 Integrated Database completed with water quality testing and literature studies. The variables including the physical condition of the water source, chronic diseases suffered, and water quality parameters. Data were analyzed using proportional difference tests and mapping of causal relationships. The results showed that stroke and rheumatism were chronic diseases that could potentially be caused indirectly by the physical condition of the water source. Clean water samples are known to contain organic materials that are difficult to decompose through microbiological processes, have the iron and H2S content that exceeds the Threshold Limit Value (TLV). The study concluded that deterioration of water sources was one of the main obstacles to supply safe and affordable clean water using the local water sources. Materials that exceed the TLV known had the potency to causing a chronic illness indirectly.
