The use of foreign language for specific purposes in the graduate thesis of non-linguistic programmes
V raziskavo smo vključili štiri fakultete Univerze v Mariboru, zato smo podrobno preučili njihove predmetnike in učne načrte ter predstavili in primerjali predmete, katerih vsebina vključuje pridobivanje znanja tujega jezika. In the master\u27s thesis entitled The use of foreign language for specific purposes in the graduate thesis of non-linguistic programmes we researched if and to what extent the students of the University of Maribor use foreign language for specific purposes, scientific literature and terminology in the process of writing the final thesis in different degrees of study. In the theoretical part, we discussed the term language which we divided into the native and foreign language as well as the foreign language for specific purposes, which was the basis of our research. We were attentive towards learning a foreign language, why it is important and what it means for an individual and in the globalized world. The main part of our theoretical part was the use of the foreign language for specific purposes. We defined the term the foreign language for specific purposes and stated reasons for learning it. We also introduced some suggestions and guidelines for teaching a foreign language for specific purposes and the teacher’s role. In our research we included four faculties of the University of Maribor, examined their curricula and lesson plans and introduced as well as compared the courses that focus on acquiring a foreign language. In the empirical part of the master’s thesis we were interested in students’ viewpoints about the use of foreign language for specific purposes in the graduate thesis of non-linguistic programmes. The results showed that the students of all faculties, involved in the research, use more domestic and foreign printed and online literature during their studies. When writing the final thesis all type of literature is used, both domestic and foreign printed as well as online literature
A New Early Ripening Table Grape Cultivar Obtained in Pietroasa Research Station: Vitis vinifera L. cv. Mihaela
AbstractThe evolution of the internal Romanian market for table grapes in recent years suggests that there are occasional problems with the supply, sometimes requiring imports, as well as a need for early maturing varieties, which can bring important benefits for both producers and consumers. This paper presents some data regarding a promising new variety of table grapes, Mihaela, obtained at the Pietroasa Research Station located in Buzău county, Romania, by crossing of Vitis vinifera varieties Cardinal and Coarnă neagră, the last being the maternal ancestor. Presented data includes ampelographic features, agrobiological and technological traits for the new Mihaela cultivar, as well as for its parent varieties. The results recorded thus far present Mihaela as a valuable early ripening variety which could be a good addition to the table grapes assortment of many producers
Mihaela Koletnik, Slovenskogoriško narečje (Maribor 2001)
The article brings a presentation of a monograph Slovenskogoriško narečje (The Slovenske Gorice Dialect) by Mihaela Koletnik, a dialectologist from Maribor. This is the 12th publication from the Zora series issued by Slavistično društvo Maribor. The results of author š years-long research on the phonological, morphological and syntactic levels of the Pannonian Slovenske Gorice dialect are presented in this monograph. The author justifies the division of the dialect into two sub-dialects on the basis of the quantitative opposition between the permanently long vowels on the one hand, and the old and the new acute vowels on the other.V članku je predstavljena monografija mariborske dia-lektologinje Mihaele Koletnik Slovenskogoriško narečje, kije kot 12. knjiga iz zbirke Zora izšla pri Slavističnem društvu Maribor.

A Semiconducting Liquid Crystalline Block Copolymer Containing Regioregular Poly-(3-hexylthiophene) and Nematic Poly(n-hexyl Isocyanate) and its Application in Bulk Heterojunction Solar Cells
A liquid crystalline diblock copolymer containing regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and poly-(n-hexyl isocyanate) (PHIC) was synthesized by the combination of Grignard metathesis polymerization (GRIM) and titanium mediated coordination polymerization methods. The poly(3-hexylthiophene)-b-poly(n-hexyl isocyanate) (P3HT-b-PHIC) diblock copolymer used in this study contained ~10 mol% of P3HT and ~90 mol% of PHIC. The diblock copolymer displayed solvatochromism in THF-water and THF-methanol mixtures. The field-effect mobilities of the synthesized block copolymer were measured in bottom gate-bottom contact organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). The surface morphology of the polymer thin film was investigated in the channel region of the OFET devices by tapping mode atomic force microscopy (TMAFM). The diblock copolymer displayed nanostructured morphology in thin film and had good mobility despite the low content of the semiconducting P3HT block. The diblock copolymer was also used as an additive to improve the performance of P3HT/PCBM bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells. Liquid crystalline characteristics of the diblock copolymer were examined by cross-polarizing microscopy and X-ray diffraction.Welch Foundation (AT-1740); US National Science Foundation (DMR-0956116); US National Science Foundation-MRI (CHE-1126177
Representations and Consequences of Moral Evil in Cenușă rece by Mihaela Perciun
This article offers a literary analysis of the existential dilemmas and psychological traumas of the characters in Mihaela Perciun’s novel, Cenușă rece. The sources and the chain of causality that marked the destinies of the characters from the perspective of moral evil are particularly highlighted. We have shown that moral deviations and the constraint of freedom of conscience are what can create both social dissensions and identity fractures over time. By using black humor, the author illustrates an upside-down world, wicked and with values followed only on a declarative level, thus managing to offer us a full picture of this society. It also analyzes the drama of three generations of women and how the male character, Tudor Cocargea, marked their existence by one moral slip he committed. Thus, we found that the characters, although they are blood relatives, are devoid of affection and totally unknown to each other
In an increasingly apocalyptic climate in which the death of literature is loudly proclaimed, Mihaela Ursa refuses a nostalgic and melancholic reflection on the decline of the culture of the book. Instead, she chooses to investigate the ways in which the current media landscape has shaped the reception of fiction and how these mutations can be used in order to “revive” the classics and literature in general for a new generation of digital natives. Therefore, although this book is focused on canonical texts, the author does not intend to discuss their canonicity or their aesthetic value, but the way in which they are reappropriated through their transmedial circulation. The introductory chapter starts with the important assertion that literature is no longer the privileged road towards accessing narratives. However, instead of either mourning or praising the end of the literature-centric era, the author proposes a more useful activity: reflecting on how this change may impact our relationship with fiction. Since cultural and artistic revolutions do not manifest themselves as a destruction of previous practices in their field, the new technologies and media that are developing very rapidly do not signify the end of the book as a material support or the end of literacy as an ability, but instead their mutation and integration in a new network of narrative media. After all, as Mihaela Ursa argues, transmediality has been a trait of artistic productions since the very beginning, the rise of literature being the phenomenon actually responsible for narrowing the narrative space to its strictly written manifestation

Knowledge and attitudes of nursing students about hand hygiene
When talking about any health intervention, the first and indispensable step is hand hygiene. Throughout history, many infections and diseases have been associated with insufficient hand hygiene specifically. Improper or insufficient hand hygiene in healthcare workers leads to the transmission of microorganisms that are not part of the normal flora and easily spread among healthcare professionals and patients. The most effective way to reduce infection by transmitting microorganisms is hygienic alcohol rubbing and hand washing. This paper looks at hygiene indications that include the so-called five moments of hand hygiene and the ways in which the act of hygiene itself can be performed.
The central part of the paper focuses on nursing students who are already familiar with the health system through their education and practical work, but also as future professionals who should leave the faculty with the knowledge and routine of hand hygiene. The aim of this paper is to survey the knowledge of undergraduate nursing students in the Republic of Croatia on proper hand hygiene.
The research was conducted through an online survey that was distributed on social networks via the Google form in the period from September 7, 2020, to September 10, 2020. A total of 82 undergraduate nursing students from four counties participated in the survey. The survey questionnaire consisted of 53 questions with multiple-choice answers. The results were analyzed in two large groups, the knowledge, and attitudes of students. The analysis of the survey shows a satisfactory level of knowledge of students about the "Five Moments for Hand hygiene" method, as well as their positive attitudes towards the importance of hand hygiene. Students believe that hand hygiene is one of the most important things in health care, which indicates their knowledge of the topic, but also confirms the positive attitudes expressed. The results of the survey indicate the confirmation of both hypotheses set at the beginning of the paper
Challenges of nursing education on nutrition therapy for persons with diabetes
Danas medicinske sestre imaju ključnu ulogu u procjeni pacijentovog znanja o prehrani, s posebnim fokusom na unos ugljikohidrata, proteina i masti. Osim toga, medicinske sestre motiviraju pacijente i podržavaju ih u usvajanju zdravih prehrambenih navika.
Diabetes is one of the biggest public health problems due to its serious and major consequences.
