The influence of epidural anaesthesia on femoral overlap and Norberg angle in the hip joint of young dysplastic dogs
No full textSummaryA retrospective study of 61 dogs that underwent triple pelvic osteotomy evaluated the effect of the epidural anaesthesia on the hip laxity as measured by the femoral overlap and Norberg angle before and after epidural anaesthesia. Both the femoral overlap and the Norberg angle measured on the non-operated hip decreased significantly after epidural anaesthesia. (p < 0.0001 and p < 0.001, respectively).</jats:p

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textArbetslös - möjligheter på arbetsförmedlingen i Norberg, är en utvärdering av arbetsförmedlingen i Norberg. Syftet är att utifrån kvalitativa intervjuer undersöka och studera hur kunderna - det vill säga arbetssökande, arbetsgivare och Norbergs kommun upplever kontakten med arbetsförmedlingen. Arbetsförmedlarnas syn på sitt arbete som handläggare belyses utifrån intervjuer med arbetsförmedlingens personal. För att ge en bredare bild och visa på alternativa arbetsmetoder redovisas även en intervju med en forskare i Bergslagen. På ett översiktligt sätt beskrivs kortfattat hur den omgivande miljön på lokal, regional och central nivå (kontexten) sätter ramar för och påverkar den lokala arbetsförmedlingens verksamhet i Norberg. Organisationsteorin om gräsrotsbyråkrater används både för att beskriva och tolka arbetsförmedlarnas arbete. Analogt används bl.a. en viss socialpsykologisk teori – symbolisk interaktionism – för att förstå de arbetssökandes situation och reaktioner. Analysen visar att de arbetssökande som är intervjuade är fast förankrade i Bergslagen. De har idéer och tankar om vad de vill göra i framtiden men behöver ytterligare stöd för sin fortsatta utveckling. De administrativa rutinerna på arbetsförmedlingen fungerar väl gentemot företag på orten. Det behövs däremot mer uppsökande verksamhet, bättre stöd till de arbetssökande för att ta tillvara deras egna idéer och fler mötesplatser där alla möjligheter tas tillvara.</p
