Cáceres, 1 male, 44 females, 14.X. 2003. Description. General color brownish to ochraceous. Frons of the general color but Mline and clypeal area lighter, sometimes not clearly delimited (Fig. 1); lappets brownish, genae and parietalia ochraceous to yellowish. Antennae brownish, maxillary palpi brownish, labial palpi yellowish. Pronotum ochraceous with darker sublateral stripes, rugosities lighter (Fig. 1). Wing membrane ochraceous, veins brownish to ochraceous, costal vein pale. Femora ochraceous, more yellowish in some specimens; tibiae and tarsi ochraceous. Cerci ochraceus. Male. Forewing length of specimens from Jaciara, 9.5–12 mm (n= 48, mean= 10.77 mm, s.d.= 0.62 mm); of specimen from Cáceres, 9.5 mm. Hammer conical, truncate apically (Fig. 2). Penial armature in dorsal/ventral view narrowing gradually to near the apex, then abruptly; ventral vesicles present near distal end. Dorsal keel absent. Hooks smoothly curved, apices pointed (Figs. 3–5). Female. Forewing length of females from Jaciara, 14–17 mm (n= 29, mean= 16.60 mm, s.d.= 0.967); females from Cáceres, 12.5–15 mm (n= 44, mean= 14.03 mm, s.d.= 0.742). Subgenital plate fourlobed, median lobes narrower than lateral ones. Sternum 9 with Tshaped field of hairs, sublateral ones stronger (Fig. 6). Egg oval, simple, 0.33 x 0.20 (Fig. 7). Remarks. The penial armature is similar to that of A. stanjewetti Froehlich (2002) from Santa Catarina, Brazil, and the provinces of Entre Ríos and Misiones, Argentina, but does not show, in dorsal view, wedge shapedkeel and does not have a marked distal curvature. As regards color, in A. stanjewetti the frons is darker and has a more marked pattern, and the pronotum is brown to the margins. The egg of A. stanjewetti is elongate oval and has a small peg in the posterior pole, absent in the present species. Etymology. Jaciara, the municipality where the holotype was collected. Gas migration from two mine districts. The Tolfa (Lazio, Central Italy) and the Neves-Corvo (Baixo Alentejo, Portugal) case studies
No full textDetailed soil gas surveys were conducted at twomine districts to understand gas migrationmechanisms fromdeposits buried at different depths. The Tolfa (Lazio, Central Italy) and Neves-Corvo (Baixo Alentejo, Portugal) mine districts have different characteristics: the former is relatively shallow (30–100 m) whereas the latter is at a depth of 400–500 m and covered by low-permeability metamorphic rocks. The studied gases included major (N2, O2, CO2) and trace (4He, 222Rn) gases, hydrocarbons (CH4, C2H6 and C3H8) and S compounds (H2S, COS, SO2). The measured concentrations (some examples of max values at Tolfa: Rn 233 Bq/L, CO2 9.5%, CH4 12.3 ppm, COS 3.7 ppm; and at Neves-Corvo: Rn 130 Bq/L, CO2 24.3%, CH4 0.1%) indicate that gases migrate preferentially through zones of brittle deformation by advective processes, as suggested by the relatively high rate of migration needed to obtain anomalies of short-lived 222Rn in the soil pores. Considering the different depths of the two ore deposits, obtained results can be considered as features of near-field (Tolfa) and far-field (Neves- Corvo) gas migration

A Multi-Language Comparison of Influences on Author Verification using Character N-Grams

Measurements. Male (n=8) forewing length: 8.8 mm – 10.0 mm (mean= 9.3 mm). Remarks. The material from our study presents a considerable variation in size, as also observed in Bispo et al. (2005). The keel of the penial armature in our specimens is more truncate than triangular and the base is narrower (Fig. 3E) in comparison with the illustration of the holotype provided by Bispo et al. (2005), but we are considering these variations as intraspecific. Anacroneuria jaciara was found in a low order stream with cascades and a waterfall above the collection site. Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
No full textWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
