MY WAY : esiintymisvaatemallisto punklaulajalle
No full textOpinnäytetyön aiheena oli suunnitella Japanissa punklaulajana toimivalle asiakkaalleni esiintymisvaatemallisto. Vaatemalliston suunnittelussa otettiin huomioon punklaulajan tavoittelema pukeutumiskuva, jota tarkasteltiin eri näkökulmista suunnittelun aikana. Suunnittelutyössä käytettiin apuna luonnoskirjaa ja muistiin-panoja, sekä haastatteluja yhteistyökumppanin kanssa. Tekijä tutki suunnittelutyötä varten punk- ja japanilaisen visual kei-tyylilajin keskeisiä ominaisuuksia ja piirteitä, joita käytti inspiraation lähteinä. Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli suunnitella asiakkaan tyyliin sopiva punkmallisto, joka vastaa hänen ideologiaansa ja normejaan.
Mallisto sisältää paitoja ja takkeja sekä housuja ja asusteita. Mallistossa on yhteensä kuusitoista tuotetta. Opinnäytetyön lopputuloksena valmistettiin tuotekuvat ja esityskuvat malliston tuotteista, sekä katalogit malliston esittelemisen avuksi. Tuotekuviin ja esityskuviin käytettiin Illustrator-ohjelmaa ja katalogit tehtiin käsin. Esiintymisvaatemallistosta valmistettiin myös asukokonaisuus, joka sisälsi takin, paidan ja housut.The subject of the final project with thesis was to design a collection of performing clothes for the client, a punk singer who lives in Japan. The clothing collection was designed with the objective of aspiring after the clothing picture that the punk singer sent, which was contemplated from different points of view during the design. Sketchbook, notes and interviews were used as design methods. The source of inspiration was the properties and characteristics of punk and Japanese visual ‘kei’ styles, which the author studied for the collection. The purpose of the final project with thesis was to design a fitting punk collection which represents the client’s ideology and norms.
The collection contains shirts and jackets, pants and accessories. There are sixteen pieces altogether in the collection. The final result of the final project with thesis was the product pictures, presentation pictures and catalogues. The product pictures and presentation pictures were made by using the Illustrator program and the catalogues by hand. An outfit, which includes a jacket, shirt and pants, was also made of the clothing collection

Sporalla stadilaiset skujaa : Joukkoliikennevälineiden slanginimitykset
No full textTutkielmassa tarkastellaan joukkoliikennevälineiden, raitiovaunun, junan, linja-auton ja metron, slanginimityksiä sekä niiden muutosta slangin alkuajoilta nykypäivään asti. Samalla sivutaan myös slangin omaksumisessa ja käytössä tapahtuneita muutoksia. Uudemman slangin aineistona ovat Helsingin kouluissa vuosina 2014 ja 1989 toteutetut slangikeruut sekä neljän lukiolaisen haastattelu vuodelta 2014. Vanhemman slangin aineisto puolestaan koostuu vanhempien slanginpuhujien haastattelusta sekä slangilla kirjoitetuista teoksista ja laulujen sanoituksista. Heikki ja Marjatta Paunosen laatima Stadin slangin suursanakirja on lisäksi tärkeä aineistolähde nimityksiä tarkasteltaessa. Tutkielmassa hyödynnetään sanastontutkimuksen metodeja mutta sivutaan hieman myös kansanlingvistiikkaa.
Aineiston tarkastelu osoittaa, että spora on suosituin raitiovaunun slanginimitys ikäpolvesta riippumatta. Ratikka on käytössä sen rinnalla, mutta sitä ei enää nykyään koeta niin vahvasti slangiksi. Raitsikka sen sijaan vaikuttaa olevan katoamassa nuorten kielestä, sen käyttäjien määrä on viimeisen 25 vuoden aikana romahtanut. Erityisesti äänneasu raitsika näyttää 1950-luvulla olleen joissakin porukoissa suosittu, mutta se on kadonnut ensimmäisenä. Myös skuru on hävinnyt nuorten puhumasta slangista jo vuosikymmeniä sitten.
Junasta nykynuoret eivät näytä juuri tuntevan slanginimityksiä. Vanhempi polvi käyttää stogea tai tsugea, mutta niiden rinnalla myös yleiskielistä junaa. Linja-auton slanginimityksissä on selkeä ero vanhemman ja nuoremman polven välillä: 1960-luvulta lähtien nuoret ovat käyttäneet dösää, mutta tätä ennen suosituin nimitys on ollut busa. Näiden rinnalla on käytössä bussi, joka on vuosikymmenien aikana levinnyt myös muuhun pääkaupunkiseudun arkipuheeseen. Metrolle on olemassa lukuisia slanginimityksiä, mutta mikään niistä ei ole vakiintunut edes nuorten käyttöön. Suosituin nimitys on yleiskielinen metro kaikenikäisten keskuudessa.
Slangin omaksuminen on siirtynyt myöhemmäksi. Ennen slangia opittiin kavereilta pihoilla pienestä pitäen, mutta nykyään se tulee tutummaksi vasta yläasteelle siirryttäessä. Slangia opitaan edelleen pääasiassa kavereilta, mutta nykyään sanasto leviää paitsi pihoilla ja kaduilla myös verkossa. Slangin laajeneminen puhutusta kirjoitetuksi kieleksi on tuonut mukanaan lyhenteiden lisääntyneen käytön. Niin lyhenteitä kuin muutakin sanastoa poimitaan yhä enemmän englannista. Nykyslangissa on kuitenkin vielä paljon myös vanhempaa slangisanastoa, kuten vuosikymmeniä käytössä säilyneet liikennevälineiden nimitykset osoittavat
Metamodern sensibility in Jenni Fagan's 'The Waken'
No full textJenni Fagan is a critically acclaimed author whose works explore marginalized girlhood in Scottish cultural contexts. "The Waken" depicts the story of a young girl brought up by a violent father on a Hebridean island in which a Stevensonian representation of evil acquires a feminist flavour. Through allusions to Stevenson's Gothic, Fagan draws on the antisyzygy element in Scottish literature but instead of reproducing an idea of duelling polarities within one entity, she uses binary oppositions in a polysyzygiacal way. This article shows that multiple alignments and plural connections of Fagan's polysyzygy indicate her text's participation in a metamodern sensibility. Creating a metamodern simultaneity in which a feminist deconstruction of patriarchal narratives coexists with the employment of the reconstructive potential of myth, Fagan's narrative presents a more dialogical approach to male literary traditions than the works of postmodern feminists.1Jenni Fagan is a critically acclaimed author whose works explore marginalized girlhood in Scottish cultural contexts. Jenni Brandon: Colorist Landscape Composer Three Selected Works for Oboe

winning American composer, Jenni Brandon. A champion of writing new music for the
oboe, Brandon has composed thirteen works from 2003 to 2016, ranging from
unaccompanied solo works to woodwind chamber ensemble.
Brandon is highly influenced by her surrounding landscapes and paints vivid
musical pictures. Apart from being emotionally impactful, Brandon’s works are enriched
with color, lyricism, and technical demand. This document focuses on three selected oboe
works by Brandon: On Holt Avenue (2006), In the City at Night (2008), and The Sequoia
Trio (2008). It presents a biographical sketch of the composer, surveys of the works,
compositional process and provide performance practice considerations. It is hoped that
this research will continue to increase awareness of the composer, provide performers a
better understanding on approaching the selected work, while promoting individual

Tässä työssä tarkastellaan kunnan väestön demografisia muuttujia sekä kartoitetaan kirjaston palvelut ja käyttäjät. Tutkimuksessa kirjaston kohderyhmänä tarkastellaan kaikkia kuntalaisia. Kirjaston palveluita sekä olemassa olevia asiakkaita tarkastellaan kunnan väestöön verraten. Opinnäytetyön on tilannut Oulunsalon kirjasto.
Tutkimuksessa on käytetty valmiita tilastoja sekä dokumentteja kunnasta ja kirjastosta. Tilastokeskus on suurin aineiston lähde Oulunsalon kunnan ohella. Lisäksi menetelmänä käytettiin teemahaastattelua. Haastateltavina olivat Oulunsalon kirjaston työntekijät.
Työn viitekehyksessä käsitellään kuntalaista kirjaston asiakkaana sekä kirjastonkäyttöä ja sen tutkimista. Oulunsalon historiaa tarkastellaan hieman ja uuden Oulun kirjastoverkko esitellään. Kulttuuriympäristön selvityksessä käydään läpi kunnan aktiivista harraste-, järjestö- ja kulttuuritoimintaa.
Väestöselvityksessä saatuja tietoja pyritään havainnollistamaan graafisin esityksin. Palvelu- ja käyttäjäryhmäselvityksen sekä aiempien yleisistä kirjastoista tehtyjen tutkimusten perusteella Oulunsalon kirjasto on piirteiltään tyypillinen suomalainen kunnankirjasto.ABSTRACT

In this thesis I examine demographical variables of local population and survey the library’s services and users. Every habitant of Oulunsalo is considered as library’s target group. Library services and existing customers are assimilated on local population. Thesis is made for the library of Oulunsalo.
As research material is used statistics and documents. Majority of the material is produced by Statistics Finland and Oulunsalo municipal. Thesis contains also theme interview where the workers of the library is interviewed.
I review citizen as library user, library use and library research in the framework. I examine the history of Oulunsalo and its library briefly. Library services of new Oulu are also reviewed. In survey of culture environment I look in to lively organization and culture activities of Oulunsalo.
In report of population structure information is clarified with graphics. Library of Oulunsalo didn’t depart from other public libraries in the service and customer group survey, if compared on other research made from public libraries
What gives? How companies invest in communities
No full textAgainst a backdrop of growing public interest in corporate citizenship and responsibility, this report investigates the approach that leading firms are taking to investing in communities. It looks at how, and how well, companies are performing against leading indicators for community investment.
Significantly, it shows there is a lack of guidance about what constitutes good practice in community investment. Most companies undertake their community investment activities without a strong framework, strategy or tools to measure the performance, impact or effectiveness of their approach. In many cases, this is because tools and frameworks are poorly developed and applied in the Australian context. This has implications for the effectiveness of the programs companies support and, ultimately, may prevent programs reaching their full potential for communities.
The report presents some valuable insights for corporations and communities to inform better practice, reporting and outcomes in this important area.

Tämä opinnäytetyö on tuotettu Kainuun hyvinvointialueen aikuisten mielenterveyspalveluiden ja riippuvuuksienhoidon avohoitoyksikköön Kajaanin ryhmätalolle. Opinnäytetyöllemme oli työelämälähtöinen tarve. Kajaanin ryhmätalolla työskennellään asiakaslähtöisesti ja kuntouttavan työotteen mukaisesti. Sairaanhoitajana työskentelevä tiimivastaava kuvaili ongelmana olevan tämän työtavan näkyväksi saattaminen. Käytössä oleva materiaali kuntouttavasta työotteesta oli aiheen laajuuteen nähden kovin suppea, eikä käytössä olevassa materiaalissa tuoda esiin menetelmiä työn tueksi. Kuntouttavaa työotetta oli vaikeaa konkretisoida ja tueksi tarvittiin materiaalia, johon työntekijä voisi tarvittaessa palata jälkeenkin päin.
Opinnäytetyömme avaa kirjalliseen muotoon asiakaslähtöisen kuntouttavan työotteen perusajatusta mielenterveystyön näkökulmasta. Lisäksi tuomme esille menetelmiä työn tueksi ryhmätalon henkilö-kunnan käyttöön. Opinnäytetyömme palvelee myös uuden työntekijän perehdyttämisen tukimateriaalina. Menetelminä opinnäytteeseen on avattu Spiral-menetelmä ja Elämäntilanteen selvittämisen ympyrä, ESY. Opinnäytteeseen valikoituneet menetelmät eivät olleet vielä käytössä Kajaanin ryhmätalolla.
Opinnäytetyömme tuotoksena syntyi infograafi, jonka tarkoituksena oli avata asiakaslähtöistä kuntouttavaa työotetta ja kuvata sen toteuttamista kuntoutusprosessin vaiheissa. Halusimme sisällyttää infograafiin teoriaosuuden käsitteistä tiiviissä muodossa, sekä esitellä valitsemamme konkreettiset menetelmät työn toteutukseen.Abstract

This thesis was commissioned by Ryhmätalo, an adult mental health outpatient unit located in Kajaani, which is part of Kainuu Wellbeing Services County. This thesis is based on the needs of working life. Work at Ryhmätalo is client- and rehabilitee-oriented. The team leader, a nurse by education, described that the problem was making the rehabilitative approach visible. The currently used rehabilitative material was very narrow compared to the scope of the issue and did not include methods that supported the approach. According to the team leader, it was difficult to concretize the rehabilitative approach. New material to support the approach was needed.
This thesis discusses the basic idea of client-oriented rehabilitative approach from the perspective of mental health care. In addition, it presents methods to support the work of the staff at Ryhmätalo. This thesis can also be used in the orientation of a new employee. Methods described in this thesis include the Spiral method and the circle of life situation exploration, ESY. These methods were not yet used at Ryhmätalo.
This thesis resulted in an infographic, the purpose of which was to open up a client-oriented rehabilitative approach and describe its implementation in the phases of the rehabilitation process. The infographic also includes a theoretical part of the key concepts in a compact form and presents selected methods for the implementation of the work
