Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Sharp boundary concentration for a two-dimensional nonlinear Neumann problem
We consider the elliptic equation −∆u + u = 0 in a bounded, smooth domain
Ω ⊂ R^2 subject to the nonlinear Neumann boundary condition ∂u/∂ν =|u|^{
p−1}u on ∂Ω and study the asymptotic behaviour as the exponent p → +∞ of
families of positive solutions up satisfying uniform energy bounds. We prove
energy quantisation and characterise the boundary concentration. In particular
we describe the local asymptotic profile of the solutions around each concentration point and get sharp convergence results for the L^∞-norm

Sharp asymptotic behavior of radial solutions of some planar semilinear elliptic problems
We consider Lane-Emden and Nenon equations either in the plane or in the unit planar ball B centered at the origin with Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions. We give a sharp description of the asymptotic behavior of all the radial solutions to these problems and we show that there is no uniform a priori bound for nodal solutions under Neumann or Dirichlet boundary conditions

Overdetermined Problems for Some Fully Non Linear Operators
In this paper, we consider the equation |delta u|M a, A (D 2 u)= f(u) in a bounded smooth domain , with both Dirichlet condition u=0 and Neumann condition , where c is a constant, > 1, u is of constant sign and M a, A is one of the Pucci operator. We prove, for different nonlinearities f, that, when a is sufficiently close to A, either u=c=0=f(0) or is a ball, u is radial, and c0 in
