Studi rencana penelitian untuk menggambarkan peran Alyssa dalam novel terjemah DRY karya Neal Shusterman dan Jarrod Shusterman dan mendeskripsikan implikasi pembelajaran peran Alyssa dalam novel DRY karya Neal Shusterman dan Jarrod Shusterman di SMA. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif. Gambaran dan peran Alyssa yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini ditemukan 129 data, 15 gambaran penokohan Alyssa secara dramatik, 42 data peran Alyssa dalam keluarga, 15 data peran Alyssa dalam lingkup sosial bermasyarakat, 18 data peran Alyssa dalam pendidikan, dan 39 data peran Alyssa dalam lingkup pertemanan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik baca dan catat. Teknik penyajian hasil menggunakan metode informal. Simpulan yang dapat di ambil dalam penelitian ini, penggambaran dan peran sangat bermanfaat bagi siswa karena memiliki keterkaitan dengan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di kelas SMA (KD) 3.9 menemukan substansi dan bahasa di dalam buku novel
The social problem in Neal Shusterman and Jarrod Shusterman's Dry

Humans have relationships with various sectors of social life, such as the political elite, economy agents, military, and society. Along with these relationships, social problem often arise in these sectors, including during the California drought depicted in the novel "Dry" by Neal Shusterman and Jarrod Shusterman. This research was conducted to analyze the social problem that occurred during that time, along with their causes. To achieve this goal, the researcher employed Charles Wright Mills' theory of social problems (1959) and utilized the sociology of literature approach by paying attention to intrinsic elements in the story's setting. The qualitative method was used by collecting primary data in the form of descriptions and dialogues related to the research objectives. The results indicate that there were social problems in the form of unemployment and poverty caused by the government's indecisiveness in handling disasters and the military's unilateral decisions that harmed the community. The military's actions actually made civilians feel afraid, and many refugees experienced difficulties. On the other hand, some businesses gained easy access to water during the drought. This research provides an overview of the social problems that arise during droughts in California, along with the factors that cause them.

Manusia memiliki hubungan dengan berbagai sektor kehidupan sosial, seperti elit politik, pelaku ekonomi, militer, dan masyarakat. Seiring dengan hubungan tersebut, seringkali muncul masalah sosial di sektor-sektor tersebut, termasuk pada masa kekeringan di California yang digambarkan dalam novel "Dry" karya Neal Shusterman dan Jarrod Shusterman. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis masalah sosial yang terjadi pada masa tersebut, beserta penyebabnya. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, peneliti menggunakan teori masalah sosial oleh Charles Wright Mills (1959) dan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra dengan memperhatikan unsur-unsur intrinsik dalam latar cerita. Metode kualitatif digunakan dengan mengumpulkan data primer berupa deskripsi dan dialog yang berkaitan dengan tujuan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat masalah sosial berupa pengangguran dan kemiskinan yang disebabkan oleh ketidaktegasan pemerintah dalam menangani bencana dan keputusan sepihak militer yang merugikan masyarakat. Tindakan militer justru membuat masyarakat sipil merasa takut dan banyak pengungsi yang mengalami kesulitan. Di sisi lain, beberapa pelaku usaha mendapatkan akses air yang mudah selama kekeringan. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran mengenai masalah sosial yang muncul saat kekeringan di California, beserta faktor-faktor penyebabnya.

La interpretación sociológica de la distopía en la serie "Unwind" de Neal Shusterman
No full textEste artículo profundiza en el análisis sociológico de la serie Unwind de Neal Shusterman, explorando los temas de producción y reproducción social, estructura y estructuración social, y posicionamiento social dentro del mundo distópico representado en los libros. Ofrece una inmersión profunda en el rumbo del concepto de distopía y la literatura distópica desde un punto de vista sociológico. Utilizando la teoría de la estructuración de Anthony Giddens, este estudio investiga cómo los personajes navegan en su sociedad, la interacción entre los individuos y las estructuras sociales, y el impacto de la religión en sus creencias y acciones. También examina el papel del posicionamiento social y cómo la percepción que tiene la sociedad de los acontecimientos da forma a sus interacciones y su destino. Este artículo sostiene que el análisis sociológico revela las relaciones intrincadas entre los personajes y su entorno, destacando las consecuencias de una sociedad donde los niños están sometidos al desenvolvimiento y al espíritu resiliente de quienes resisten.Este artículo se adentra en el análisis sociológico de la serie Unwind de Neal Shusterman, explorando los temas de producción y reproducción social, estructura social y estructuración, y posicionamiento social dentro del mundo distópico retratado en los libros. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
