Common Trend in WIC and Non WIC Breastfeeding Rate: A Cointegration Approach of Panel and Time Series Data
No full textThis thesis explores the trend of WIC (Women Infants and Children) and non WIC breastfeeding rates in U.S.A. WIC is a special supplemental nutrition program by USDA (United States Department of Agriculture). Time and panel data series have been used for 50 states of U.S.A and D.C (District of Columbia) to analyze the common trend between the two breastfeeding rates (time series data for 35 years and panel data series for 28 years). To determine the common trend, I used residual based cointegration for time series and recently developed error correction based cointegration for panel data series. I also constructed error correction models for both data series to evaluate the speed of adjustments between the two breastfeeding rates. The results suggest the prevalence of a common trend and moreover an upward trend for WIC and non WIC breastfeeding rates which indicates that both breastfeeding rates are growing together over time. The speed of adjustments toward equilibrium is faster in the time series data compared to the panel series data

It makes reading this story a fascinating mathematical experience and engagement (for both children and adults)
A study of parking problems in Muar town. Case study: street on Muar town (Jalan Salleh) / Abdul Azim Abdul Malek
No full textParking facility can be considered as part of planning requirement that can affect development scheme as a whole. The increases of population, paralel with the increasing of road users lead to parking concerns, especialy in Muar Johor. Insuffiecient car park and congested traffic occured in that area, and the study keen to conduct a research to identify the factors that contribute to the problem. The scope of parking problem is narrowed to Jalan Salleh as the main road in Muar town. The author will investigate the parking management system at Muar town from planning, organising and controlling point of view. The demand for property in Muar is increasing, but with problems of lack of parking space and congested area can change property buyers decision. There are several factors that contribute to parking problem in Muar area, and public behavior and the poor management at Majlis Perbandaran Muar are two major concerns that the study will focus on. Based on structured interviews, survey and observation, it is hope that this study can come out with a good solution to help fix the situation before it become worst in the future
Attitutes and beliefs of young men towards male voilence against wives
No full textAccording to the National Crime Record Bureau report 2018, domestic violence is the most highly committed crime among other forms of violence against women in India. It is prevalent in all cultures and communities, even where women are financially independent, and are aware of their rights. Studies have shown that patriarchy, misogyny, and strict adherence to gender norms are the major causes of male violence against women. Despite that, the understanding of power dynamics of gender, and the hostile attitude towards women, remains scarcely discussed. The majority of perpetrators are men, yet the essential role of men and masculinity is ignored while tackling the issue on the ground. This study aims to explore the attitudes of male youth towards gender equality, male violence against wives, and ideas around masculinity
