Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Analisis Pengendalian Tingkat Produksi Optimal Pintu PVC Invilon Biru Dengan Metode Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) (Studi pada UD. Jaya Setia, Jalan Setiabudi No 92 A-A, Medan)
In a business world where business competition is increasingly tight, every businessman is required to always try to keep his business from competitors, especially from competitors with similar products. In addition to quality competition, price competition is also one of the factors that determine the company's ability to dominate the market. Therefore, in order to suppress the price at the level of competitiveness, the company is required to be able to operate effectively and efficiently. This research was conducted at UD. Jaya Setia who produce PVC doors. In controlling its production level, UD. Jaya Setia always have excess production in comparison with the distribution. The purpose of this research is to know the optimal production level of blue Invilon PVC door by minimizing production inventory cost. In this research, the method used is descriptive method with qualitative approach. Research data were obtained from interviews, documentation studies, and literature study. Data analysis techniques used in this study are the analysis of the number of economic production quantity (EPQ), optimal time analysis between one set-up to the next set-up, analysis of production cycle time, analysis of the maximum inventory level of production, and total minimum production inventory cost analysis (TIC ). Based on data analysis conducted at UD. Jaya Setia by using EPQ method, obtained the level of economical size of Invilon PVC door production of blue colour as much as 115 sheets / production round, with optimal time interval for one set-up cycle for 47 days, with production cycle time For 43 days, with maximum inventory level of 301 sheets, and total minimum production inventory cost of Rp 2,084,148 per year and compared with without using EPQ method of Rp 2,927,033 per year. So by using EPQ method, UD. Jaya Setia can save minimum production inventory cost of Rp 842,885, - per year.91 HalamanSkripsi Sarjan
Analisis Pengaruh Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Loan To Deposit Ratio (LDR), Net Interest Margin (NIM), Non Performing Loan (NPL) Terhadap Return On Asset (ROA)
This study aims to analyze the effect of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Net Interest Margin (NIM) and Non Performing Loan (NPL) to Return on Assets (ROA) both simultaneously and partially. Profitability is often used to measure management effectiveness based on returns on loans and investments. In creating and maintaining a sound banking condition, it is necessary for banking institutions that always receive effective guidance and supervision.
The population in this study are commercial banks listed (listed) in BEI from 2011 to 2015, which is as many as 42 banks. Sampling technique through purposive sampling method. The data used in this research is secondary data. While for the research data is pooling data is a combination of time series (time series) and cross section during the period 2011 to 2015. The data in this study was conducted with a quantitative descriptive analysis where the analysis tool used is panel data regression analysis is processed with Eviews 7 program.
Based on the results of research that has been tested, it can be concluded that the variables CAR, LDR, NIM and NPL simultaneously significantly influence the variable ROA commercial banks go puclic listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2011-2015. While partially obtained the result of CAR variable has a negative and insignificant effect on ROA of public bank go public listed in BEI period 2011-2015.
This shows that the CAR variable has a probability value of 0.1633, the LDR variable has a probability value of 0.0242, the NIM variable has a probability value of 0.1028 and the NPL variable has a probability value of 0.0002. So it can be concluded that the variables that most affect the profitability (ROA) of public banks go public listed on the IDX period 2011-2015 in sequence are NPL, LDR, NIM and CAR. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

Pengaruh Daya Tarik Iklan Terhadap Brand Awareness Produk Indomie pada Mahasiswa Ilmu Administrasi Niaga/Bisnis
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh daya tarik iklan indomie terhadap brand awareness atau kesadaran akan merek produk indomie pada mahasiswa Ilmu Administrasi Niaga/Bisnis FISIP USU. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Ilmu Administrasi Niaga/Bisnis mulai dari angkatan atau stambuk 2013 sampai 2016 yang berjumlah 618 mahasiswa. Dari populasi tersebut dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin diperoleh sampel sebanyak 86 orang yang akan menjadi responden dalam penelitian ini. teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik non probability sampling dengan metode purposive sampling. Jenis datanya adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji asumsi klasik yaitu uji normalitas. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linear sederhana dengan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t dan uji determinasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh persamaan regresi sebagai berikut : Y = 24,364 + 0,661X Berdasarkan analisis data statistik, indikator-indikator pada penelitian ini bersifat valid dan variabelnya bersifat reliabel. Pada uji asumsi klasik model uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa data dalam penelitian ini berdistribusi normal. Hasil uji regresi menunjukkan variabel daya tarik iklan berpengaruh positif terhadap variabel brand awareness dengan nilai koefisien regresi sebesar 0.661. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji t yang menunjukkan bahwa variabel daya tarik iklan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap variabel brand awareness. Kemudian melalui uji determinasi diperoleh hasil nilai R square sebesar 0,241 yang menunjukkan bahwa 24,1% variabel brand awareness dapat dijelaskan oleh variabel daya tarik iklan sedangkan sisanya 95,9% dijelaskan oleh faktor lain.This study aims to determine how the influence of advertising indomie appeal to brand awareness or brand awareness indomie product on a student of Business Administration / Business FISIP USU. The population in this study is a student of Business Administration / Business start or Stambuk force from 2013 to 2016, amounting to 618 students. In the classical assumption of normality test models indicate that the data in this study normal distribution. Results of regression analysis showed that variables ads appeal positive effect on brand awareness variable with regression coefficient of 0661. Hypothesis testing using t-test showed that the variables appeal ad positive and significant effect on the variable brand awareness.
