No full textNandini adalah suatu garapan komposisi karawitan yang berpijak dari Lembu Putih yang berujung dengan kebahagiaan. Lembu Nandini dikenal mempunyai sifat tak kenal takut dan juga melambangkan sebagai lembu kekayaan, milik Bagawan Wasista, konon terlahir dari Surabhi, sang lembu kemakmuran yang muncul ketika samudra diaduk pada proses penciptaan alam semesta atau dengan kata lain Surabhi adalah Ibu dari semua Lembu. Dalam karya komposisi karawitan ini penggarap akan menggunakan pengolahan melodi yang bernuansa baru, berbau kekinian, memainkan warna-warna suara/timbre dalam media ungkap dan mampu memverbalisasikan serta mentransfer kelembutan Lembu Putih dan kesuciannya sehingga bisa menghasilkan sebuah karya komposisi karawitan yang khas. Garapan Nandini menggunakan medium dasar instrumen karawitan Bali yaitu beberapa tungguh instrumen Semar Pegulingan serta Suling Gambuh dipadukan dengan instrumen non karawitan yaitu, Hulusi (suling China), Udu dan menambahkan Genta/Bajra. Keutuhan karya seni ini merupakan sebuah jawaban dari berbagai tantangan selama menjalani proses kreatif, mulai dari penjajagan pencarian ide, berpikir, berimajinasi, dan terus berusaha mencari inspirasi untuk melahirkan ide hingga pada pengendapan ide. Melakukan percobaan perenungan konsep musikal, dan pembentukan sebagai proses terakhir sampai pada penuangan materi pada pendukung. Sehingga terwujud menjadi sebuah karya komposisi karawitan yang sarat akan nilai artistik tersendiri sehingga karya ini layak untuk dipresentasikan. Komposisi karawitan Nandini ini merupakan sebuah garapan dengan wujud yang dapat dinikmati oleh indera mata dan telinga. Dibalik itu, komposisi karawitan ini juga mengandung tema yang terbungkus oleh pengolahan unsur musik seperti nada, melodi, irama, tempo, harmoni, dinamika, dan menambahkan unsur vokal (Windha dalam Atmaja, 2012:22). Konsep penggarapannya berpedoman pada konsep karawitan instrumental dan konsep garap sederhana yang merupakan sebuah gambaran dari Lembu Putih yang dituangkan ke dalam bentuk musikal, diolah dan dikembangkan sesuai dengan keinginan dan kemampuan penggarap.

The development of societies changed significantly the role of libraries and posed new technological and other challenges due to the development of information technologies.
Since the development of information technologies caused expansion of production capacities in societies there was additional need to standardize production of formats of access, distribution, archiving of information. Due to democratic character of many developed societies openness of information and human rights emphasized an importance of legal aspects and rights of persons with disabilities. Author mentioned articles of the UN Convention of Rights of Persons with Disabilities which required that parties which ratified convention should implement accessibility standards for persons with disabilities. Author presented standards and technical specifications that define accessibility of web interface, computer software and file formats. It is especially emphasized that those standards are important in libraries. Modern libraries should adopt and use file formats which are accessible for persons with disabilities in order to avoid risk of increased discrimination against persons with disabilities if inaccessible technologies will be used. Author believes that this would help persons with disability to use library resources and services equally as other users do.

Seabed foraging by Antarctic krill: Implications for stock assessment, bentho-pelagic coupling, and the vertical transfer of iron
No full textA compilation of more than 30 studies shows that adult Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba) may frequent benthic habitats year-round, in shelf as well as oceanic waters and throughout their circumpolar range. Net and acoustic data from the Scotia Sea show that in summer 2-20% of the population reside at depths between 200 and 2000 m, and that large aggregations can form above the seabed. Local differences in the vertical distribution of krill indicate that reduced feeding success in surface waters, either due to predator encounter or food shortage, might initiate such deep migrations and results in benthic feeding. Fatty acid and microscopic analyses of stomach content confirm two different foraging habitats for Antarctic krill: the upper ocean, where fresh phytoplankton is the main food source, and deeper water or the seabed, where detritus and copepods are consumed. Krill caught in upper waters retain signals of benthic feeding, suggesting frequent and dynamic exchange between surface and seabed. Krill contained up to 260 nmol iron per stomach when returning from seabed feeding. About 5% of this iron is labile, i.e., potentially available to phytoplankton. Due to their large biomass, frequent benthic feeding, and acidic digestion of particulate iron, krill might facilitate an input of new iron to Southern Ocean surface waters. Deep migrations and foraging at the seabed are significant parts of krill ecology, and the vertical fluxes involved in this behavior are important for the coupling of benthic and pelagic food webs and their elemental repositories

Matahari seolah pecah di siang hari, menyebabkan panas yang luar biasa. Sebaliknya, angin bertiup sangat kencang. Itu semua karena terjadi perubahan iklim akibat pemanasan global. Gerakan penanaman pohon pun mulai diadakan, namun dapatkah kita menanamkan budaya merawat dan melestarikan pohon-pohon itu?
Banyaknya polusi, baik polusi tanah, air, maupun udara merupakan faktor utama penyebab terjadinya pemanasan global. Faktor lainnya meliputi penebangan dan pembakaran hutan. Lapisan ozon pada atmosfer terus menerus menipis, maka terjadilah peristiwa ‘efek rumah kaca’ yang berujung pada global warming.
Agama dan budaya di Bali adalah dua hal yang tidak dapat dilepaskan. Ritual-ritual yang diselenggarakan di Bali, sebenarnya adalah pengaruh budaya. Namun, karena ‘bahasa’ masyarakat Bali adalah upacara, jadi semua hal dikaitkan dengan ritual-ritual, termasuk budaya.
