No full textIl volume propone una rilettura delle figure retoriche secondo una nuova impostazione teorica e didattica, rivolta all’individuazione del procedimento, ovvero dei meccanismi logici profondi da cui sono generate le varie figure. Punto di forza del volume è la costante attenzione alle diverse forme di linguaggio -verbale e iconico- con esemplificazioni tratte dalla scrittura letteraria e da altre forme di comunicazione. Si segnala, a livello più specificamente critico-letterario, l’antologia stilistica che chiude ogni sezione, in cui sono riportati esempi di interpretazione di testi, in cui vengono usate le figure retoriche come chiave di lettura ermeneutica
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Two-Dimensional Proper Rational Matrices and Causal Input/Output Representations of Two-Dimensional Behavioral Systems
No full textThe concept of proper rational matrix is strictly connected with the representation of causal transfer matrices. In the two-dimensional (2D) case there is much freedom in defining proper rational matrices. This freedom is connected to the fact that past and future in the 2D case can be determined by a 2D cone. In this way the concept of rational matrix which is proper with respect to a cone can be introduced. Moreover, an algorithm that checks the properness of a rational matrix is proposed. Finally, this algorithm is used for determining all possible causal input/output (I/O) representations of a behavior given by a kernel representation
