Sobre a recepción e fortuna crítica do chamado “Conto gallego” de Rosalía de Castro
[Resumo]:
O denominado “Conto Gallego”, único exemplo de prosa
narrativa galega de Rosalía de Castro, foi considerado durante
anos un texto de dubidosa autoría, en parte polos problemas
ligados á súa problemática difusión, o que provocou un certo
silencio bibliográfi co e que fose un texto escasamente estudado.
No artigo ofrécese unha completa revisión das valoracións
e lecturas que sobre el se teñen feito, como exemplo da
reavaliación crítica a que foi submetida a obra rosaliana nos
últimos trinta anos.[Abstract]: For years, scholars have argued over the authorship of Rosalía de Castro’s only narrative prose text in Galician, her so-called Conto Gallego (‘A Galician Tale’). The confusion with regard to the identity of its author, due in part to problems in relation to how the text was originally transmitted, has led to its frequent omission from de Castro’s bibliography and a tendency to be overlooked by scholars of her work. This article proposes a complete reassessment and revision of the tale, as part of the critical reappraisal of de Castro’s writing over the past thirty years
Rosalía de Castro e as escritoras angloamericanas do seu tempo en La hija del mar
[Resumo] O presente traballo analiza a recepción por parte de Rosalía de Castro
de escritoras europeas e americanas dos séculos XVIII e XIX coas que
compartiu preocupacións de autoría, de xénero, temáticas e literarias.
Prestarase especial atención ás referencias intertextuais de escritoras mencionadas pola propia Rosalía nos seus escritos, en particular
á inglesa Charlotte Turner Smith e á norteamericana Maria Susanna
Cummins e á identificación de Rosalía con elas e coas súas carreiras
literarias. A análise permite afirmar que nas súas obras propuxeron
cuestións relativas ás mulleres, á súa orfandade e ás súas capacidades,
ben como ao feito de que as habelencias femininas son truncadas pola
sociedade circundante, en particular, se teñen vocación de as desenvolveren en igualdade cos varóns.[Abstract] This article deals with the reception by Rosalía de Castro of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century European and American female
writers with whom she shared preocupations about authorship and
gender, as well as thematic and literary concerns. Special attention
will be paid to the intertextual references of the writers mentioned
by the Galician author, particularly Charlotte Turner Smith and
Maria Susanna Cummins, and to de Castro’s identification with
these writers and their literary careers. This analysis will show that
they presented issues pertaining to female foundlings, their capacities and how their abilities were not accepted in their respected

Entre a sombra e o mergulho, uma casa que ri. Casa Baltazar de Castro, Braga, 1963-1965
A Casa Baltazar de Castro foi projectada e construída entre 1963 e 1965 e é omissa, quase sem excepção, em toda a historiografia da arquitectura portuguesa. A operacionalidade da utilização de temas, definidos por outros autores a propósito do estudo de obras arquitectos contemporâneos, como fizemos em relação às leituras propostas por: Fernandez da obra de José Carlos Loureiro, por Moneo das obras de Stirling e Siza
e por Stirling da obra de Le Corbusier, na análise da obra de Celestino de Castro, demonstra, em nossa opinião, o carácter informado e cosmopolita das reflexões que enformam a obra deste arquitecto e em particular a Casa Baltazar de Castro.
Esta é uma casa na “fronteira”, quer na biografia do autor, quer na história da arquitectura portuguesa em que participa, em nossa opinião, de pleno direito. Na fronteira entre o modernismo e o pós-modernismo, entendido este como a crise das grandes narrativas, a casa Baltazar Castro exprime a inquietação da aproximação de tempos diversos, mas não dá, ainda, o passo para a construção de um novo paradigma.
São disso relevadores, nomeadamente, a evolução da expressão plástica e espacial para uma cada vez maior personalização e riqueza volumétrica, o acentuar da importância dos sistemas construtivos e materiais, e a redescoberta de uma relação estreita com o solo e a envolvente próxima.Baltazar Castro House, designed by the architect Celestino de Castro, was built between the years 1963 and 1965.
Although the author is a well-known architect, his house is without explanation ignored, given that no reference of it in the historiography of the modern Portuguese architecture exists. In this brief text, I try to explain that this invisibility is incoherent with the intrinsic quality of the building. This is done by first analysing a set of key concerns and ideas, defined by certain authors, in the study of other architects (contemporaries of CC), such as: Fernandez on Loureiro, Moneo on Siza and Stirling and Stirling on Le Corbusier, and then using the same concerns and ideas for analysing Celestino de Castro house. This method of analysis led me to recognise the informed and cosmopolitan character of Celestino de Castro’ work and of his building in particular, since it was possible to identify on both the same key concerns and ideas. I highlight as the most significant characteristics
of this house its unique and strong formal spatial expression, its volumetric complexity and the way it rediscovers a more intense relation with the ground level and the urban environment.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Este texto constitui parte da tese de doutoramento “Modernidade Difusa. A receção hispânica de Eugénio de castro” defendida na Universidade de Évora em 2021.Eugénio de Castro [1869-1944] es hoy un autor menor en el panorama editorial y crítico portugués. Sin embargo, a lo largo de su vida adquirió un notable prestigio internacional, especialmente en las literaturas ibérica e iberoamericana. Nos proponemos investigar los orígenes de su recepción hispana. Así, observaremos que Castro se benefició de la atención de un autor tan central en la definición de la modernidad hispana como Rubén Darío, avalando los datos que dan cuenta de esta relación. Además, destacaremos que depende de una situación periférica común de la literatura iberoamericana y portuguesa en el contexto de la modernidad internacional. También destacaremos que el portugués fue instrumentalizado en el contexto de la descolonización cultural iberoamericana, así como de una afirmación latinista contra la amenaza del imperialismo norteamericano, con la concomitante crítica al utilitarismo capitalista que Darío descubrió en Castro. Finalmente, observaremos que el interés del nicaragüense por el portugués se materializó en una influencia propiamente literaria.Eugénio de Castro [1869-1944] is nowadays a minor author in the Portuguese editorial and critic universe. However, during his lifetime he achieved a remarkable international prestige, particularly in the Iberian and Ibero-American literatures. I will inquire about the origins of his Hispanic reception. Thus, I will observe that Castro benefited from the attention of an author as central as Rubén Darío, recalling the elements that prove this relationship. I will further emphasize that this relationship depends on a common peripheral situation in Ibero-American and Portuguese literatures in the context of international modernity. I will also highlight that the Portuguese poet was instrumentalized in the context of Ibero-American cultural decolonization. Likewise, Castro was instrumentalized for a Latinism that was opposed to the threat of US imperialism, with the concomitant criticism of capitalist utilitarianism that Darío highlighted in his work.
