Financial Sources and Financial Performance of SMES in Mingalardon Industrial Zone ( Yan Myo Aung, 2024)
No full textThe Mingalardon Industrial Zone's Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) financial
performance and sources of funding are examined in this research. Using a simple random
selection technique, 159 SMEs' owners or managers—representing 20% of the 795 SMEs in the
zone—were selected as a sample. The study employs both descriptive and quantitative approaches
using primary and secondary data. The findings offer insights into the financing landscape of
SMEs in the Mingalardon Industrial Zone, highlighting the significant roles of bank financing,
government financing, personal financing, and trade credit. The important findings of the study
concluded that various financing options are essential for SME performance. This study shows
that trade credit has the strongest positive effect on SME performance. It greatly supports other
financing sources such as bank financing, government financing, and personal financing,
emphasizing its essential role in maintaining strong financial health for SMEs businesses. It is
suggested that efforts should focus on improving financing information sharing, reducing
bureaucratic hurdles, increasing SME development funds, standardizing financial reporting, and
supporting technological upgrades and environmentally friendly practices

A Study on Utilization of Fertilizer in Agriculture Sector in Mawlamyine Township Mon State (Case Study of Selected Villages in Mawlamyine Township Mon State) (Myo Aung, 2025)
No full textThis study examines the use of Fertilizer in agriculture among farmers in
Mawlamyine Township, Myanmar, focusing on their perceptions and the cost-benefit
analysis of organic, chemical, and mixed fertilizer use. The study found that most farmers
apply a combination of chemical and organic fertilizers across monsoon, winter, and
summer cropping seasons. Farmers recognize the benefits of organic fertilizer in enhancing
soil fertility, structure, moisture retention, and nutrient availability while lowering costs.
In contrast, chemical fertilizer boosts yield and saves labor and time but contributes to soil
degradation and long-term environmental concerns. The study shows that using mixed
fertilizers improves yield, lowers production costs, and achieves a higher cost-benefit ratio
than relying solely on organic or chemical fertilizers. Additionally, the cost-benefit ratio is
highest for Winter crops when mixed fertilizers are used. The study recommends a
collaborative, multi-stakeholder approach to promote cost-effective and sustainable
fertilizer practices for long-term agricultural development

It explores how Myanmar has used public diplomacy strategies, including cultural exchanges, media outreach, and people-to-people diplomacy, to shape regional perceptions and promote cooperative ties. The study employs qualitative analysis of secondary data sources and survey findings to evaluate the effectiveness of these efforts, identifying key achievements and persistent challenges. Results show that while Myanmar has made notable contributions through events such as the SEA Games and UNESCO nominations, its public diplomacy is constrained by political instability and limited regional trust. The thesis also analyzes ASEAN’s cautious response and institutional norms such as non-interference, highlighting both the limitations and opportunities for Myanmar to strengthen its soft power. The findings offer practical recommendations for enhancing public diplomacy and improving Myanmar’s regional image, contributing to wider academic discussions on diplomacy, regional cooperation, and international engagement

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
